The Guest House was the kitchen and servants quarters of the original 1000 + acre Elgin Plantation. There are now 35 acres surrounding the home . A southern breakfast is served in your guest house Monday through Saturday. On Sunday morning, a continental breakfast is left in the refrigerator for you to have at your leisure.
This 1853 kitchen quarters has been converted to a guest house, with 3 upstairs bedrooms, two and a half baths, living and dining rooms, and kitchen. Guests may use hoopskirts and antebellum style dresses for fun and a photo. A tour of the main house is offered which includes quotes from the 1841-55 diary of Dr. Jenkins.

The owner or manager are always on the property when guests are staying at Elgin. The breakfast is served in the guesthouse, but tours of the main house are included with the reservation. A full southern breakfast with eggs, grits , sausage and fresh fruit with homemade biscuits, is served Monday through Saturday. On Sunday morning, a continental breakfast is left in refrigerator. It includes coffeecake and other breads with ham, cheese and fresh fruit. Also assorted cereals and bananas.
