This large contemporary townhouse is centrally located, yet feels very secluded and secure. It has a very spacious open living space with a sophisticated decor, 3 en-suite bedrooms, 2 outdoor decks, a gated driveway, rear garden and 2 -car garage.
This large (3,300 sq ft) high-end contemporary townhouse is located in the heart of Center City and only half a block away from the Avenue of Arts (Broad St), subway station and bus stop. It's only a 10-15 min walk to Rittenhouse Square and Washington Square West. The Benjamin Franklin Pkwy is a beautiful 30 min walk through historical Center City.
Two private gates open to a landscaped garden and driveway leading to a secure 2-car garage in the rear of the house. Two additional cars can be parked in front of the garage, if needed. The rear garden and private gated driveway provide an exceptional sense of security and seclusion for such a central location.
The covered front entrance (with video camera) opens to the foyer, leading to a spacious bedroom (queen size bed) with en suite bathroom (bathtub) and a small den.
The first floor hallway also leads to the garage in the rear and to a large family/media room (100" projection screen, BluRay, Xfinity, surround sound) in the basement (10 ft ceiling) with a sectional couch and beverage refrigerator. This room can easily accommodate 2 people on a queen size air mattress if needed.
The main living space is located on the 2nd floor and consists of a very large (1,000 sq ft) and bright, open space anchored by a high-end contemporary kitchen in the center (Wolf range, Subzero refrigerator/freezer and wine cooler, Asko dishwasher, espresso maker, granite counter tops), a spacious living space with a 55 in LED TV (surround sound) and a modern fireplace. Two French doors off the living area lead to a 250 sq ft landscaped deck (BBQ, outdoor table, chairs, illuminated planters) overlooking the rear garden, perfect for outdoor eating, just feet away from the kitchen.
On the opposite side of the living room is the dining area with Murano crystal chandelier and seating for 8 people at a Pennsylvania walnut table handcrafted by a local artisan.
On the 3rd floor, you'll find a very spacious and quiet master suite (king) overlooking the rear garden, with dressing area with built-ins and large spa-like bathroom with 2 sinks, a steam shower and whirlpool bathtub. A second master suite (2 twins) is also located on the 3rd floor, with a large walk-in shower and dressing room. A full size washer and dryer are found on the 3rd floor as well.
A full size staircase leads to an 800 sq ft roof deck on 4th floor with stunning skyline views where you'll find a dining table, seating for 10 on a large outdoor sectional couch, illuminated coffee table and large planters. We have been living in Philadelphia for over 15 years and we are still big fans of this city. It is an historical gem with a vibrant cultural and restaurant scene, people are friendly and understated, it's easy to get around and prices are reasonable. What else could you ask for?
We are passionate about traveling, in particular to Asia. The more exotic, the better. My husband Bob is a marathon runner and an avid reader. I'm a biker and a scuba diver. We both work in education.
