I recently graduated from the
Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University with a Bachelor of
Science in Journalism, concentrating in broadcast journalism and a double major
in political science. I am currently an
intern for the Communications department at Radio Free Europe in Washington
D.C. and am interested in pursuing a career in the field of production.
My background and coursework
provided a solid foundation upon entering internships. During my time at Towers Productions, a
television production firm that works with factual and entertainment channels including
National Geographic, Travel Channel, and The History Channel, I used the
analytical skills I attained through Medill’s rigorous journalism classes to
aid in the production of shows such as High
School Confidential and Inside the
Iraq War. I was selected to assist
the producers of the series Gangland with capturing,
fact-checking, and editing for one of the longest running and most popular
shows on The History Channel.
Additionally, while working on
the Medill Innocence Project, I led our team to investigate the possible
wrongful conviction of a man who received a life sentence for a double
homicide. As a result of my team's
efforts, lawyers will be using evidence we compiled when they approach the
State's Attorney to free a man who has been incarcerated for twenty years.
I am interested in exploring a
variety of opportunities in journalism, as I want to get as much exposure as
possible in any related fields.
