Interaktion mit Gästen
Interaction with us depends on what guests want - if its a welcome, followed by breakfast and then guests just want privacy that's fine - if they come for a detox, health support, therapies and full board then we are there to take care of that.
The Quantock Hills are a truly unspoilt area of natural beauty, off the general tourist track. There are beautiful valleys full of snowdrops, bluebell woods, and heather clad moors, depending on the season. Lots of pretty villages with ancient churches, teashops and old country pubs, hilltops where you can walk for miles with views of the Somerset levels (we are fortunate to be above the flood plain) or across to Wales. We are close to the towns of Taunton and Bridgwater which have all the shops and facilities, cinema, and entertainment you might wish for, and there are the well-known Somerset Art Weeks in September when you can visit artists' studios in lovely old farmhouses and village halls. Bridgwater has a famous carnival in November with dozens of amazing floats lit by thousands of light bulbs and decked with local people in costume, accompanied by loud music - and finished off with a display of fireworks held on poles, known as 'squibbing'. Glastonbury and Wells are only 30--45 mins drive and are fascinating ancient places of pilgrimage.
We give you lots of information to read about them! Also places to walk, teashops, and ideas for days out...including Clarks Village at Street for retail therapy, and Glastonbury town for crystals and bookshops...
There are taxis from train or coach stations in Bridgwater or Taunton, or we can pick you up by prior arrangement.

Our house is the original building, onto which an 18thCentury building was added to make the Dower House known as Broomfield Hall. This is now split separate dwellings, with four other families as our neighbours. We are all on exceptionally good terms, including with the chickens that one family keeps that you may well encounter wandering in the drive. Basically, all very friendly and laid back.
No smoking indoors. We are in a quiet friendly neighbourhood and like guests to feel at home. We don't have TVs in the rooms as guests are encouraged to chill out and leave the outside world behind, but there is one with a large screen and dvd player in the sitting room which guests can make use of. We have a large friendly labradoodle so if you are very allergic that might be a problem. You can use the kitchen for food prep, Vitamix, Magimix, dehydrator, juicer, kettle, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine, but not for meat-cooking.

My husband Robin and I are both trained therapists, and I also work for a charity. We are vegetarians and have discovered the amazing benefits of more fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts and seeds in our diet. We now offer weekend detox breaks, workshops on raw food lifestyle and cuisine, as well as the use of our home for refreshing breaks in the countryside.
