* When you arrive you must come to the front door of the two story house to be taken back to the treehouse. Do not go into the back yard on your own. There are instructions that need to be told to you about the treehouse.

* Please make reservations for the correct number of people staying overnight in the treehouse. 1 GUEST means 1 person sleeps overnight in the treehouse. 2 GUESTS means that 2 people are staying overnight in the treehouse. I have been having problems with people not paying attention to how many people they want to sleep in the treehouse.

* THERE IS A FEE FOR EACH GUEST STAYING IN THE TREEHOUSE THAT INCLUDES CHILDREN.

* This is a very small treehouse, 10'x10' so don't expect a lot of room inside the treehouse, but there is an additional 12'x18' high deck attached to the treehouse that has a floating queen sized air mattress/memory foam bed available.

* You have access to the little river by the treehouse, plus the hanging-spring-mounted chairs under the "high deck".

* You can sit and watch the chickens that live on the property. You will be sent to sleep by the river and awakened by the roosters, so be prepared.

* Some people bring earplugs if they want to sleep in because of the roosters.

* There is an outside shower available with hot water.

* Composting toilet for your use also. So be aware that this is much like camping. This is NOT like a HOTEL or even MOTEL room. So be prepared for "roughing it". There is dirt floor under the treehouse. You are going to be exposed to dirt.

* If you want to store cold items best to bring a cooler with ice.

* Please leave our treehouse in the same condition you found it.

* The treehouse is only available in the warmer months of the year. Closed for the winter. There is a very small heater inside the treehouse but there is NO HEAT on the high deck area. It can get cold out there. Bring long underwear if you are going to sleep outside on the high deck. Heavy blankets are supplied.

* There is another AirBnB rental on the property, so be aware that there are other guests nearby.

These are gracious hosts who obviously love to dedicate time and energy into their tree home. There's a cozy, homey vibe. Communication was excellent and things were generally as described. The chickens were lovely, actually! They woke us up as anticipated, but not dramatically so, and it was easy peasy to go back to sleep. Certainly don't let the chickens keep you from booking. They're kind of quirky companions, actually! Pros: -The bed was great. Remarkably comfortable for an air bed, and we're picky about our beds! The fact that it sways in the breeze is even better. Great concept. -Great to have an inside space with a heater for cool nights, just in case. -Communication was easy, direct and not constant! We loved being left to our own devices, as the whole point of vacation is to get away. -You can tell this is a couple who wants to make their home cozy and inviting and they are largely successful at it. -Some version of all the amenities from home were there to use (even a microwave!). -A deer family came to visit every morning! Cons: -Some things you just can't help. The neighbors across the creek have a bit of a junk yard going on, which spoils the otherwise lovely view. Then the other neighbors to one side fought all the livelong day, and it was lots of listening to "m-er f-er this and m-er f-er that." They also were out in the yard quite a bit which put us in plain view, so we just shut the curtains and moved on. :) -This is a tree house. Things are going to get dusty and grubby. Completely to be expected. It was hard to sit in the outdoor spaces, though, because the patio furniture either required a good bug cleanout or a wipedown to use. We just de-bugged and threw down a towel, so ultimately no big deal. -The price. I booked because of the $150 a night price tag, as I anticipated it being just like "camping plus" (it was). Given that yurts are $90-ish/night, I was happy to pay $150 for the uniqueness of a tree house on the river. What felt excessive was going to book and finding the additional cost of a second person (my husband), as most places only charge in excess of two people. Or, like, Breitenbush, you're charged per person because they also feed you three meals a day. We went ahead and booked anyway, expecting that--for the price--the space would be like "camping plus plus plus!" Unfortunately, it was not. I feel like the $150/night charged would be fair, but the $250/night we ended up paying felt excessive for the payoff. Overall a unique experience with gracious hosts that's worth trying out!

Loved this treehouse! Falling asleep to the sound of the river on the floating bed was the highlight of our stay. Mike & his wife were great hosts. We were able to go into town for food & walk through a beautiful park that was only 15 minutes away! 100% recommend staying here if you want a unique experience.

An absolutely perfect place to wind down after two weeks travelling. We loved the treehouse so much that we chose to sit by the river all evening instead of going out. Totally worth a visit.

It's good that you got the idea of how to enjoy the treehouse. Some people are in too much of a rush to just enjoy where they are. :)

We had an amazing stay at the treehouse. Even thought it was a bit chilly, we couldn't resist sleeping on the swinging bed - what a cool experience! Mike and his wife provided plenty of blankets that kept us warm. We got fresh eggs from the chickens and loved falling asleep to the sound of the creek. Such a great experience - thank you!

Retired graphic artist, raises chickens for fun and eggs, designs computer fonts for fun and to sell from my web site. Hands off hosting style. Hope that you will be adult at least some of the time while staying in the treehouse or the tiny house.
