A wonderful visit in Hyderabad with Maaz! Highly recommended.
My thesis supervisor, his wife and I stayed at Maaz's flat for three nights while travelling in India. The bedrooms are as pictured, and both have excellent A/C units. Each bedroom has it's own 3-piece en suite washroom (Western-style toilet, sink, and shower). The hot water geyser functioned better for one shower than the other, but this was a minor concern. The kitchen is small, but contains a microwave (which we didn't use, but hey - it's there!), a propane-operated 2-burner stove, and a refrigerator. *Take note that the hot water geyser, outlets, and refrigerator are controlled by switches on the wall. Ask for Maaz for clarification.*
Maaz provided all that we requested for the kitchen utensil-wise, and was very on-the-ball and available whenever we needed anything. WiFi had not been installed upon our arrival, but was up and running within 24 hours of our arrival. A friendly older man 'guarded' the apartment entrance all day long.
We loved staying at Maaz's listing for numerous reasons:
1) The location is incredibly central to Charminar itself - just a 5 - 10 minute walk away.
2) The apartment is safely tucked away from the insanity of the streets - you'd never know it's existence unless you were told about it. We liked retreating from the noise at the end of a long day.
3) Maaz is a wonderful host - he lent us a SIM card for three days, got WiFi installed and working asap, listened to our recommendations, and provided kitchen wares when needed. In addition, he had his sister and cousin prepare a traditional dosa & coconut chutney dinner for us one evening, which thrilled us, and drove us in his vehicle to go shopping at a local antiques shop by request!
A note for those who dislike hard beds: these beds are firm, to say the least. I love a good firm bed, but if you don't, maybe touch base with Maaz prior to arrival to have some thick foam put on top of the mattresses.
