Old Portland style house built in 1917. We offer a private room and the rest of the house is shared with the two of us and our five year old. Ideally located in inner S.E. Walk to myriad bars/cafes/restaurants. 5 minutes to East Bank Esplanade/OMSI. Bus, bike, drive, or walk downtown in no time.
This is a family home, (infact my great-great grandparents bought it in 1920, not too long after they had immigrated from Italy.) The house is very comfortable and inviting, with a large shady porch out front. Cherry trees provide cover and it remains cool even on the hottest days. There is a side yard and a sidewalk accessible basement for convenient bike parking.
The room has a double bed, a vanity, and a closet. It's on the second floor along with the rest of the bedrooms and the shared bathroom (the bathroom has only a shower, no tub--sadly).
There's a gas stove in the kitchen. Southern light comes through the windows and there's a little back porch just a step away.

The entirety of the house, minus our two bedrooms, are totally open

We will be around and willing to assist with whatever issues may arise. We are also longtime Portlanders who can share many insights into what is interesting about Portland both old and new.
We have a young child, so that lends itself to quiet nights. But she sleeps deeply, so that has little impact on what's going on downstairs.
Just a few rules thus far, mainly: give respect, get respect.
If you want to smoke tobacco/herb please do it outside.
If you cook, please do your dishes.
If you want to get frisky with your mate, please do it quietly.
It'd be better if you didn't come home staggering and wasted, (there's a lot of bars nearby, so that can be a challenge) but I'm no teetotaler, so I won't tell you how to live.
