The sentiment for the stay is very mixed, tending to the negative side. My family (2 adults and 2 kids) were planned to spend few nights in the property, looking for quiet country-side Italian experience. Unfortunately there was a significant mismatch between the expected and the actual which forced us to leave after less than 10 hours. I would try to objectively review the experience for future quests - I wish I could read similar review before making my choice. On a general not one of my take aways is that lack of reviews for significant period of time is a flag for investigation (in that cases the property had several positive reviews date Aug'16 and older).
The positive: Responsiveness of the communication with the host and her husband was great and I appreciated the flexibility in the check-in. We arrived to property slightly after ~11PM as agreed upfront. The apartment was also very clean and the view from the property balcony is beautiful.
The reasonable:: The apartment fairly matched the pictures. The furniture is more dated compared to the pictures - not a big deal :).
The compromisable : The 3rd room (with fireplace) was used for storing owners stuff and wasn't accommodation ready. Later the owners advised that we were expected to advise upfront that we are looking to use 3 bedrooms, The ceiling fan (ventilator) in the "kids" room wasn't working and I needed to move the beds to make the floor-standing-ventilator to work after getting host advise where the only power socket in the room is located . I could compromise on those 2 items, considering the positive if the rest was fine.
- The noise: Contrary to explicit reply from owners prior to renting, that apartment is very quiet, it was extremely noisy due to windows overlooking the road crossing the village (main village square). Every car / truck crossing the village were passing near the apartment and made sleep unbearable. We succeed to sleep only for couple of hours which was unacceptable. As a point of reference the apartment noise was much above centrally located properties I rented using Airbnb in many cities through the past years (Prague, Verona, Rome, Salzburg etc.)
- The toilet was running (water on the toilet floor) which was not acceptable either.
Overall if you are looking for rustic (aka vintage) property which should be treated as is (quoting owners :() it your space. The view is great and the property is clean. The owners are also communicative. For the sake of fairness, It might be that during winter, if all windows are closed, the noise will be bearable.
If any of the items I mentioned above are bothering you then ...
