Jean is wonderful! :O) She is a warm and generous host who will always have time for her guests. She is fun, engaging and extremely helpful and her home is warm, cosy and felt like home. Nothing is too much effort and you are made to feel a part of the house and home. I would thoroughly recommend anyone who comes to the Twin cities to stay here. I have twice!

Jean made sure I had everything I could possibly need upon my arrival. The space was accurate as per the listing as well as my discussion with Jean. Neighborhood is nice and quiet but not too far away from the cities. Great house!

I love running, cross-country skiing, and canoeing, my three fabulous adult children, amazing friends, the north woods and north shore of Minnesota, books and writing. But there's more!--Colombia and Ecuador are dear to my heart, yet one of my favorite places on earth is my hammock on my back back porch. I pretty much live out there all summer--as if it were a cabin, accessible by passing through a door. Magic! I eat my oatmeal out there every morning in the summer, and read (with the birds.)

I lived in Colombia for a year when I was fifteen, and the hospitality and ardor of my Colombian friends changed me forever. If I could I would travel up and down the spine of the Andes by bus, taking in the mountains, the people, the food, the music and passion. Being open and welcoming is what I wish to offer my guests, too. I love connections, people and living fully. I also have Scandinavian roots, and here in Minnesota we generalize that this gives us a bit too much reserve. This is why I say "Colombia saved me" at a tender age. Nevertheless, I also honor my guests' independence and need for privacy and autonomy.

I do have a secret life motto: live poetically. How cheesy--but it's so good!
