Will try my best to accommodate even the most obscure requests - as long as it is not obscene.
Nintendo Switch! Books! Art!
My home combines Nordic aesthetics with Japanese details. I used to live in Tokyo for over two years, so you can find details and memories of my time there scattered throughout the apartment.
The apartment is in a beautiful and renovated building from 1910's, located in the heart of Helsinki, in the district of Kruununhaka. In this neighbourhood you will find the presidential palace, university of Helsinki, the white cathedral, and beautiful Art Nouveau architecture. It is close to the university, the sea, the botanical gardens and fifteen minutes walk from Kallio where you will find interesting places to go experience. You will find local supermarkets, coffee shops, bakeries, cosy bars, restaurants etc. in the street. There are bus and tram stops in the street and its only a ten minute walk to the metro station and 15 minute walk to the central station. Despite the central location of the apartment you will be able to sleep tight during the night since its windows and doors face a peaceful and quiet inner courtyard.
The apartment is roughly 40m2. It consists of an open space kitchen, living room and a loft (with a futon bed). The living room has a sofa that can be made into a double bed. Furthermore, there is a desk, dining table, TV, blu-ray/dvd player etc. You enter the "bedroom" via a ladder to the loft. The kitchen has a dishwasher and all the equipment you would need for cooking. The bathroom contains a washing machine and drying racks. The apartment has wireless internet and big windows letting in lots of daylight.
The apartment is ideal for two persons but can easily host four persons. Here's my take on how various amounts of people can fit it:
One person: perfect
Two persons: also perfect
Three persons: sounds like a party!
Four persons: so who gets to sleep on the futon?
Five persons or up: bring your own mattresses and remember to leave the apartment every now and then in order to avoid claustrophobia :)
Please lock both locks on apartment door every time you leave the house
No parties or noise after 11 p.m.
Kitchen knives, pans and pots should not be washed in dish washer
Guests should be above 25 years old or a couple
Enjoy the beautiful neighbourhood :)
PS. Additional house rules and more information about the apartment will be provided in the apartment

Hey there! I recently defended my dissertation on visual knowing at the Aalto University School of Business (Helsinki, Finland), and right now I'm working in Tokyo, Japan. While I'm here, my friend will take care of my apartment so once you've made a booking I'll connect you two so you can take care of the practicalities. Despite me being here I promise everything will proceed smoothly and I'll do my best to make your stay an unforgettable one! :)
So if you're interested in staying in a cosy apartment in one of the coolest Nordic capitals, please get in touch with me.
Looking forward to hosting you,
