This place is really unique. In a building with a large internal courtyard, like you would imagine one of these old Spanish homes to be like. We booked last minute as we decided to go to Granada two days early. Upon arrival we were able to choose between two rooms. We chose no. 8 overlooking the courtyard, in hopes of it being a quieter room. Other than the birds waking us in the morning it was quite quiet. The place had a rustic feel to me and I felt a bit like I was in a mountain cabin. Must have been the brick floors, wood ceiling and big old wood doors.
Great shower, lots of hot water, big towels, comfortable bed, rustic and unique ambiance. I really enjoyed the place.
The location is great to explore the Albazin (sorry if that's spelled wrong). And extremely close to Plaza Nueva which is about as central as can be.
The negatives were: Wifi not strong. It is at the intersection of two pedestrian lanes. So, you can get dropped off nearby but not at the apartments. From Plaza Nueva you must cart your bags uphill on cobblestone streets to the apartments. And then up stairs to your room. Also, as one reviewer noted, it is more like staying in a hotel in that the kitchenette is not really functioning. But there was a wine frig if we had wanted to use it. And a microwave.
All in all I would recommend it. It was one of the more unique places we stayed on our long trip. Definitely the most atmospheric.
