Welcome to Whitewater Farm and thank you for checking us out!

Der Wohnraum

Welcome to White Water Farm! My husband, 17 month old son and I live on this property that has been in our family's hands for over 30 years.

This rental is for the newly renovated loft space above our detached three stall garage. It currently features 3 twin beds, 1 full bed and 1 queen bed as well as a living room area with two couches (one is a sleeper sofa), large screen HDTV with Netflix, and VHS/DVD player. The remaining 1/4 of the space is filled with a kitchen nook featuring a coffee maker, toaster oven, and mini-fridge. There is no running water in the loft, so guests have full access to the two bathrooms and one shower located inside our home, which is approximately 100 feet away from the loft space. This access is available 24/7 and guests should feel comfortable coming in and out of our house at any point. Checking in/out is also available 24/7.

Please note: If there are more than 2 guests, there will be an additional charge of $10 per person per night. Maximum number of guests permitted is 7 people. Keep in mind there are only 5 beds, so sharing would be necessary.

Also, please note that this space is only rented out to one group (or individual!) at a time so you will NOT be sharing the space with strangers.

The style is rustic but with plenty of charm. Guests should expect coffee and/or tea in the morning. Cream and sugar available. All other food is supplied by guests, but they are welcome to use the oven, stovetop, and microwave in our main house to cook meals. The loft features a mini refrigerator that is quite spacious as well as a toaster oven. Jugs of fresh water are also provided in the loft for making coffee and/or drinking.

I provide you with fresh bed linens and towels for your stay. Please bring outdoor/pet towels with you for swimming in our pond or river as I ask that the ones I provide stay inside.

During summer months, the windows and doors can open to provide a cross breeze and there are 3 fans available for air circulation. During the fall/winter/spring months, there is a space heater and I provide warm down comforters on each bed.

Pets:
On our property we have three dogs, a female lab mix, a male blue heeler, and a male red tick heeler. There are also two cats that spend their time in our house.

In our backyard we also have several chickens and peacocks.

Check in is anytime convenient to the guest after 3pm. Checkout is 12 noon.

At White Water Farm, every window holds an amazing view! The entire property is surrounded by lush Pennsylvania forest and farmland. Corn, soybeans, oats, wheat and potatoes are the main crops that you pass as you drive up our road on the way to the apartment. Attached to the house is a gorgeous wrap-around front porch with fantastic views of the fields; just the most perfect spot to wake up to with a cup of coffee in hand!

There are hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails within range and a gorgeous river which white water rafters flock to throughout the year; hence, the name White Water Farm. Rafters arrive from near and far to take on the challenge of the Nescopeck River that cuts through the property! Guests at the house typically enjoy walking or running on the nature trail (there is a 1, 2, and 3 mile version). The area holds a variety of wildlife, including deer, raccoons, migratory birds, and all the other native species of the Blue Mountains. The Nescopeck River is a great spot for guests to cool off on hot days, and we also have two ponds on the property that we often swim in as well.

I am often around to give a mini-farm tour of my parents' potato & grain farm and I'd be thrilled to do so! The tour lasts between 30-60 minutes and there are several historic and interesting barns/buildings on the property that seem to wow people of all ages.

I am also available to give beginner riding lessons on one of my amazing lesson horses dependent upon whether or not I have daycare for my son. Weekdays are more likely possible than weekends. Lessons are one hour long and cost $30 (paid via cash or Square). Basic horsemanship skills are taught and one will leave the lesson with a new found appreciation for all things equine. Couples or groups up to 2 may split the lesson so that each person gets individual ride time within the hour. Helmets are provided and required for wear. A liability waiver must be signed.

Running the farm and horse stable (as well as raising our son!) keeps my husband and I quite busy, but we are always available if guests have any questions and we spend most evenings on site.

Weitere wichtige Infos

We have three dogs on site as well as two cats. Also on the property are several chickens and peacocks. The pets do not have access to the loft space. The dogs and cats live inside our home but are often outside.

Considering the property's rural environment and active farm operation, there is a requirement for accepting the terms of the Liability Release which will be provided upon arrival if you plan to hike the trails, tour the working farm operation, or take a horseback riding lesson.

There must be at least one person over 21 years old in the loft when others are present.

We are kid friendly, but please inform us of how many children of what age you have when you inquire about the reservation. Also, keep in mind the child safety issues of the loft: namely, the steep staircase which leads to the loft (as seen in the photos), as well as the double doors which are two stories high.

Dogs are permitted in the loft, but they must be friendly dogs as we have other pets on site (two dogs, two cats, chickens and peacocks). Aggressive dogs will not be tolerated! All dogs must be leashed while outside of the loft as our chickens roam the property and we have had too many cases where dogs attacked our birds. I can provide a 25 ft lead for your dog if requested. There is a pet fee of $25 per pet due in cash upon arrival as well as a Pet Agreement which will need to be signed. Dogs are not permitted on the beds.

Please conserve water as much as possible when using the house shower/toilet. We have a well and it needs to be handled with delicate care.

Smoking is not permitted in the loft (the balcony is okay), but is permitted on the property.

When entering our main house to use the restroom/shower, kindly remove your shoes if you leave the kitchen area.

Guests have access to the kitchen of the house to prepare meals but we ask that all meals be finished by 9pm as we go to bed early on the farm.

When leaving the loft, please remember to turn off any fans/lights to conserve energy.

Please collect your recyclables and paper burnable trash in the labeled baskets and we will collect them.

For larger groups, I have a huge cooler available to keep beverages down by the fire pit area as well as a 6 ft pop-up table, both available upon request.

Außerdem musst du Folgendes beachten:
Treppensteigen ist erforderlich
Haustier(e) leben im Gebäude
Einige Räume werden gemeinsam genutzt - Both restrooms (1st and 2nd floor) are located in our house which is about 100 feet away from the loft. Guests are welcome in anytime day or night.

This was one of the best Airbnbs I've ever stayed at. Raleigh welcomed us when we arrived at 9PM and showed us the loft. It is absolutely gorgeous! It completely exceeded our expectations. We met Blakslee the next day, who is super friendly and told us a bit about the farm. They had everything you would need in the loft including water, breakfast, and coffee. I only wish we had gotten there earlier to take advantage of the hiking trails around the farm and enjoy the loft for longer!

I was staying at the farm/ loft for 3 nights and I had a wonderful time there. Blankslee was very attentive and caring and offered me a tour at the farm several times. Everything was very tidy which I like a lot. Plus, it is just so nice and quiet out there, so I got great sleep and could relax from my flights.

If you live in a fast paced environment this is the perfect spot for a getaway with friends or family. My 3 girlfriends and I went and loved it. The location was very ideal for hiking and doing anything that involves the great outdoors. Its also within close range of jim thorpe (we hiked through glen onoko falls) which I highly recommend checking out! Blakslee also has a list of local restaurants and activities that was super helpful for meal planning during our stay. There is a mini fridge for any cold items and plates/mugs/bowls etc. Everything necessary is provided and there is full electricity just no bathroom /running water in unit (which we already knew so it was no issue at all). Blakslee and her family are very hospitable and have an open door policy for using the bathroom/shower. [She had a cute basket of shower items by the sink and towels in the closet.] There is also an outhouse! Only thing I would recommend is being okay with a lot of dogs!! (for me it was the best thing ever). They do roam free but are very friendly and like to greet you especially if you decide to make a fire:]]

Another great visit! There's not much left to say at this point after our 5th straight year staying here other than that we plan to return for as many more years as Blakslee and Raleigh will allow.
