I am a retired nurse, so comfort and serenity are the main features of my home. The rooms are large enough to move about freely, the bed is comfortable for a restful sleep, the amenities are extensive and well-stocked: free wi-fi, microwave oven, coffee maker/hot water maker with a variety of teas in addition to coffee; dishes, eating utensils, etc. there is a basket of dry cereals, oat meals, and pastries; the small refrigerator is stocked with juices, yogurt, fruits, and boiled eggs. You may also add your own items as needed. You will have free access to all of the living areas, including my small kitchen. Enjoy watching the hummingbirds or appreciate the view of our hills and trees from the deck. There is some traffic noise because we are so close to it, but closed windows make it virtually silent... Or you can pretend it is ocean surf!

We have a secure building with an elevator from the parking garage. Guest parking is available in all unnumbered spaces on the property; a parking pass will be issued on your arrival. If you are driving and can contact me on the morning of your arrival, I can reserve a space for you with my car; call me when you are close, and I will meet you in the parking lot behind the building at 1355 Creekside Drive. If you are arriving without a car, come to the main entrance, which is facing the breezeway to the rental office. Enter "301" on the keypad. I can " buzz you in". Take the elevator on the left to the 3rd floor and #301. We'll be happy to see you!
You will have your own key for the all the entrances to the building, a key to the apartment, and a key for the gate to the pool and spa.

My dog Heidi is quite calm and friendly, but she has food issues, so please DON'T feed the dog.
The city is generally flat with some low hills that make walking and hiking a delight; we are very close to the Iron Horse Trail, which connects to the rest of the extensive trail system in the area. There are trees everywhere, including some huge Heritage Oaks... beautiful! Walnut Creek has become a destination city in the area for its upscale shopping and wonderful cuisine of every culture. Parking is difficult but there are several garages to accommodate you in addition to the on-street metered parking.
Navigating downtown by car is not for the faint of heart, as the city long ago outgrew its 2-lane Main Street. There are buses and shuttle trolleys circulating to help you get back to your car, and side streets take most of the through traffic. There are several car rental agencies and taxis. There is a free bus that serves our area Monday through Friday, with a stop at the corner. Its destination is the BART station, but there are stops along the way as well. It runs between 5:48am and 6:58pm.

I love the mountains; I am spiritual but not religious; a passionate, empathetic RN, retired after 43 years of hands-on care; 72 going on 55.
UC Berkeley graduate in Social Sciences; I am more intuitive than "really smart", but I try to keep up. Of the "5 things I can't live without", probably the most important would be to have a purpose and a companion. Then, I'd love to travel around the United States, the British Isles, and the South Pacific. If I had a particular Life Motto, it would be "Life's too short !"... to be wasted on its negatives at the expense of the positives!
