Our incredible attic apartment with access to a huge garden is ideal for relaxing. We're located between two lakes and have a great public transport connection to Leipzig city with the S-Bahn (the metro).
Whether you are visiting Leipzig for the first time or you travel regularly to this city, rent a comfortable bedroom in a cozy attic with shared bathroom and kitchen. The room is perfect for a single person or a couple. It is particularly suitable for visiting scholars or researchers who are spending a few weeks or months in Leipzig and need all the comfort of a good home or guest house.
The full apartment is also available upon request. My husband Eric and I (Nathalie) are often away for work so if the timing is right you might be able to enjoy this fully equipped attic.
Our apartment is a strictly non-smoking 2 bedroom unit with an open floor layout in the kitchen and dining area as well as the living space. The shared bathroom is spacious with a full tub. We can provide an extra mattress/bed for a child. But please consider that the apartment is suitable for two adults and two children at the most.
The apartment is located on the second floor of an authentic villa in Markkleeberg on a quiet cul de sac, with a huge garden. There are in total three families sharing the building and you will immediately notice the warmth of this small community while retaining your privacy on the top floor.
ABOUT THE ROOMS
They are both nicely decorated and furnished with good storage space. One of the rooms has a queen bed and a window to the garden. The other has a single bed, it is a study area with a desktop computer and a printer/scanner/copier. The room also features a skylight window which brings plenty of light in.
HOW MANY GUESTS?
On most days we can accept up to 3 adult guests (2 on the queen-size bed + 1 on a mattress in the living area). Sometimes we can only accept 2 adults (on the queen bed). On rare occasions we can accept up to 4 adults (2 on queen bed, 1 on single bed, 1 on a mattress). This depends on our own usage and whereabouts. We will let you know how it's looking on your dates when you place an inquiry.
OPEN FLOOR AREA
If we are here during your stay, then we will share the kitchen, dinning room, living area and bathroom. Everything is open and you can use the kitchen which is complete with a small fridge, stove/oven, toaster, water boiler and other kitchen appliances.
The dining area features a shabby chic dinning table with two benches fitting 6 people. One of the nicest features of our apartment is the mixture of high and low ceilings and a storage space looking down to the dinning area, you will also appreciate the wooden pillars across the open areas and all the books surrounding the space.
The living room has a TV and DVD player. There is a sofa, a large futon and a comfortable individual chair. For sure you will find a book or CD that suits your mood. There are also speakers with a 3mm cable (like headphones) if you want to connect your own iPod/iPad/laptop. The house phone is available with free calls to many countries throughout Europe and America. A list of the countries with free calls will be provided to you. There is also WiFi internet available.
The apartment is cleaned before and after each stay. The room will be fully prepared upon your arrival. Sheets and towels are washed with environmentally friendly detergent. There is an iron and small ironing board for your use. We do make every effort to minimise waste and in our home we recycle as much as possible, we also compost our biodegradable waste in the garden. We would appreciate it if you would separate your waste as we do.
Enjoy a full-size bathtub with hand-shower. Sink with mirror, towel racks and storage as well as good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
Markkleeberg a suburb just south of Leipzig, it is close enough and easy to get to. It is only about 7 km from the city and is located between two lakes. If you are a runner, there are great parks (Agra park, Goethe park, Wild park) only 5-10 mins away. There are also plenty of bike paths around and during the summer you can enjoy a swim in the lakes or simply chill at their beaches like locals do.
There is a super market 7 min walking distance and bakeries as well as fruit and vegetables stores less than 5 min away. Every Tuesday there is a nice market set up with many local products from the region.
The closest train station is Markkleeberg Bhf. which takes you straight to Leipzig central station in 13 min. Another option is to take the Tram No.9 through the emerging and alternative neighbourhoods (Connewitz and Südvorstadt) where you will find plenty of bars and restaurants.
The music scene is buzzing in Leipzig. You are only a few tram stations away from "Werk II" a former industrial complex known to host great international bands or from the "UT Connewitz", you can enjoy the performance of talented artists/singers in an intimate music hall.

We both love what we do. For the last 10 years we have moved in and out of several interesting cities. We enjoy hosting guests as much as visiting new places and meeting new people.
