This is a nice property, set into the surrounding forest. We saw plenty of wildlife. Parrots and parakeets, and the local howler monkeys came by to visit with us. Visiting Ostional beach made for great sunsets. The other local beaches make for fun visits each day. We really enjoy…

Thank you for your review as a guest at Casa de las Ventanas. I would like to respond to some of the concerns Todd and his family noted in their recent visit. We were at the property just prior to their stay. The tableware and cookware are for every day use and are in good condition. We are having our property manager check the dryer since that is a safety concern. We did not experience any problems with the dryer when we were there, but we will definitely look into it. In our Welcome Guest letter that is sent out to each guest prior to their arrival, we do address the water, as well as the groundskeeper and the water pressure (Water – We advise you to drink bottled water while you are in Costa Rica. Since new construction in the area and the recent rains, we advise guests to drink bottled water to be safe. We have a stainless counter top filter for drinking water so please use this while you are there. If the house water is out it is usually because the pool service is there cleaning and adding water to the pool. They service one afternoon a week for about a half an hour. The gardener is there early in the morning. If the pool has lost a lot of water, he will sometimes fill it up some more so this diverts water from the house until he is done.) Yes, there are insects, the house and property are in the jungle. You will see spiders, ants, scorpions, geckos, etc. in and around the house. It is part of the beauty and attraction of being in the jungle, but close to the beach in Costa Rica. No matter how hard you try, you are not going to be able to keep the nature out. There is no timer on the water heater, so I'm not sure what that comment is in reference to. If there are a lot of guests in the house taking showers one after the other, you may run out of hot water. The vibrant country of Costa Rica is full of nature's beauty. The way of life down here is "Pura Vida" which translates to "pure life" but more than that, it's a way of thinking that symbolizes just enjoying life and being happy. Don't sweat the small stuff.
We had an amazing stay at Casa las Ventanas with our 11 month old baby. The house was sparkling clean and even better than the photos. Karen was very responsive and we can't say enough about the house managers (Eli and Willy from Blue Sand) - they made check in a breeze, were ver…
