Welcome to our home! This is the second floor of a 1BR duplex in a 1920s Central District home. Short walk to restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Many bus lines nearby with easy access to Capitol Hill, Downtown, and University District. Private entrance, full bath [with slanted ceilings - sorry tall people!], kitchen, and small deck. Apartment is full of plants and living room is full of natural light for sunny mornings.
We have a lovely 1 BR apartment in Madison Valley/Central District/Capitol Hill area. We are 2 blocks away from a gas station, a bar, post office, Safeway and walking distance to numerous bus stops [48 to UW, 8 to Seattle Center, and 2 to downtown/Capitol Hill]. The apartment is the 2nd floor of a duplex with a little outdoor deck. The house is from the 1920s and has an old world charm.
The living room is furnished with a sectional that is the size of a twin bed when you take the cushions off and a TV, but no cable. We Hulu, Amazon Prime and Netflix subscriptions. We also have a DVD player and wifi.
The bedroom has a queen size bed and a lot of plants. The bathroom is a bit on the tiny size. I am pretty short so people over 5'6", beware of the short ceilings in the bathroom/shower. I have clean linens and towels ready for your use. Kitchen is stocked with cooking supplies, spices, coffee and tea.
The apartment is close to numerous coffee shops [Tougo Coffee, Union Coffee and Cortona], gas station, post office, bar, 4 grocery stores [Safeway, Trader Joe's, Co-op and Grocery Outlet] and 2 bars [Chuck's Hopstop and Neighbor Lady]. It is a 12 minute walk to the Pike/Pine corridor in Capitol Hill and a 15 minute bus ride downtown. There is free street parking if you have a car.
The apartment is super cozy and I love living here. There is baseboard heating in every room if you get cold. For the warmer months, I have removable screens for the windows and a fan. There's no air conditioning in the unit though.
Warning - the bedroom is can get loud because it faces a main road. If you don't like the sound of cars/buses driving by, this might not be the place for you.
If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!
There is no smoking and no loud music. I have neighbors downstairs so we like to respect each other. This is our home so please respect our belongings. This is a strange one, but please turn on the air vent when you shower. The low ceilings cause a lot of steam and ruins the wall/paint.
Compost and garbage bins are under the sink and recycling is next to the fridge.
Please no shoes in the apartment. We will provide slippers if you'd like. Thanks!
Hello! I am originally a New Yorker who moved to Seattle 5 years ago. I live with my boyfriend, Sean, who is born and raised in Oregon. I am an architect and Sean is a marketing program manager. Together, we have our cute 1 bedroom apartment to share with you! We love to meet new people and help visitors explore this great city of ours. We love the PNW and everything it has to offer. Sean and I love to travel, eat great food, camp and most importantly, laugh. We hope you do too :)
