Built in 1839, this rowhouse retains the charm (and quirks) of a century gone by. The top-floor apartment features oak flooring throughout, panoramic views of Seneca Lake, and plenty of bright space. The expansive deck affords views of downtown Geneva and Seneca Lake, and a grill and wooden table provide outdoor dining in the warm-weather months.
Inside, the apartment has two bedrooms (each with a queen-size futon), one bathroom (with shower and jacuzzi tub), a kitchen with gas stove, a living room with fireplace (but no fires, please), and a dining room with a large wooden table that seats eight. The rooms are decorated with posters and pictures from my travels, and there is free wireless internet.
It's a cozy place, full of light and character. I think you'll enjoy staying here, just a few steps from downtown.
Speaking of downtown, the rowhouse is within walking distance of shops and restaurants (Indian, grills, Chinese, coffee shop), Hobart & William Smith Colleges, Pulteney Park, and the lakefront (which includes both Lakefront Park and Seneca Lake State Park). This section of town is in the Historic District, containing dozens of brightly-colored rowhouses from the 19th Century.
A short drive brings you to the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and over 60 wineries, Watkins Glen State Park and its ancient gorges, the Waterloo Outlet Mall, great hiking trails (including Ontario Pathways and the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail), and Finger Lakes National Forest. In summer months you can sail, swim, canoe, kayak, and kiteboard on Seneca Lake.
It is appreciated if guests take off their shoes upon entering the apartment.

I enjoy traveling just as much as staying home. My favorite way to travel is on the seat of a bicycle - I've been across 14 countries this way! When I'm home, I like to be outside... hiking, camping, biking, running, skiing, swimming. Home is a cozy place to return after a day of fresh air.
In 2012 I spent a month cycling around the Baltic Sea. I stayed with many Airbnb hosts and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each of them. Since then I have enjoyed being a host in Geneva and being hosted worldwide.
