Winsome, waterfront home on Currituck Sound. My dock can accommodate your small boat, kayak or canoe. Explore the nearby Outer Banks, paddle through miles of wild creeks, rivers and coves. On the North American flyway, a serene place for birders and all outdoor enthusiasts. An inspiring retreat for painters, writers, musicians. Half hour drive to Outer Banks ocean beaches.
This is a small and cozy cottage on Currituck Sound looking across to the northern Outer Banks. It has extraordinary light and space for an artist to paint or draw, and a sense of tranquillity and privacy affording a writer, musician or anyone desiring or needing a quiet space in which to work, or just slow down.
Zugang für Gäste
All of the cottage and garden is available to guests. The bedroom, with private bath, opens onto a large, screened in, furnished back porch with ceiling fans and dining table. A bright, cheerful sunroom off the bedroom is
a lovely place to curl up and read or nap. A hammock hangs near the water by a walled tree-a wonderful place to stretch out and sip a refreshing lemonade or iced tea. The kitchen is available to guests for cooking, and I
happy to cook and share dinner with guests. Coffee and tea will be available in the mornings. Feel free to take a cup back to bed and watch the sun rise...
Interaktion mit Gästen
I am always available to offer hospitality, ideas for exploring the area, or to leave my guests entirely to themselves if that is their preference.
- I would hope that my guests would conduct themselves as any guest would, with respect and politeness and enthusiasm. I have a small dog, who is very friendly and I will CONSIDER a canine visitor (under 18 pounds, and for a small cleaning fee).
I do not welcome smokers within the house.
- There is a sunroom attached to the guest bedroom which would be suitable for a family travelling with a little one, if they had a portable crib.

I have been a professional sailor for 46 years and currently skipper a 40' traditional sailing vessel for a family in New York and New England, which allows me to be home from mid autumn to mid spring. I have sailed and travelled most of the world and am passionate about meeting people, good conversation and food and gardening (now that I have a piece of terra firma to call my own!). A 'life motto' for me is to be kind to and caring of, both each other, and our fragile earth.
