Our Bed & Breakfast is situated in AREMBEPE, a magical fisherman village on the north coast of Bahia , 50 km from Salvador, the capital of Bahia.
Located right at the heart of this unique village the center overlooks on one side the colorful main square with its cafe’s and restaurants and on the other side the sandy beach and the ocean.
The cultural center Alfazema was created by Mestre Orelha and Claudia Kusch (her capoeira name is Alfazema) in 2008 as a space for people of diverse cultures to meet and connect and as a place of celebration of Bahian culture in its many expressions.
It serves as a unique destination bed and breakfast for both local weekend visitors from Salvador and surroundings and travelers from around the world.
Claudia and Mestre Orelha offer to those who are interested classes in Capoeira, Berimbau and percussion, indigenous cooking, Yoga and surfing.
Other guests may choose to just rest and take it easy, enjoy the beach and maybe book an Ayurvedic massage with Claudia.
There are two guest rooms (sleep two) with a view on the ocean available right at the center and more rooms can be rented in the adjacent house when needed.
Swimming is available right in front of the house where there is a naturally protected swimming area which offers safe swimming also for children. Wi Fi access is available throughout the house.
Starting right at the Center the guests can take long walks on the beach. If they want to venture just a few yards inland a few minutes north from Arembepe they can take a wilderness hike along the banks of the sweet water river Capivara possibly catching a glimpse of the many birds who live in that area.
All Classes at the center take place on the covered deck overlooking the ocean where Mestre Orelha, Capoeira Master and Claudia, a certified Yoga teacher offer lessons on a regular basis and by special request.
This is also where the animated "Rodas" of Capoeira take place.
Arembepe can also be a starting point for excursions to Salvador, the bay of “Todos os Santos” and the north coast .

Born in Italy from German parents I grew up in Rome, where I attended German School.
Graduated as a Textile Conservator in Switzerland I worked independently in the field of conservation for the Vatican Museum in Rome and a number of other prestigious Museums and institutions for over two decades.
