Note: if we are in the rainy season, the stone patio may be slimy and unattractive for sitting out, as we have big storms here and this is unavoidable at certain times of year so we close the garden in winter/spring until the rains are over sorry.
The garage and any locked doors, cupboards marked with a ribbon and tied closed or drawers are off limits and private areas. Please respect our home & don't take what isn't yours and if you use something up, replace it with the same for other guests. This is a residential neighborhood and there is a limit on any outside noise after 9pm so please be considerate of talking loudly, music or when you are outside the house at night. Spa use is limited to 15-20 mins each use, one use per each 24 hr period so the filter can clean between uses properly and stay clean and no use after 9pm no exceptions. No yelling or fighting please. This is a peaceful home so leave your worries and problems behind you. Please also park considerately in front, leaving room for others. The driveway can be blocked as it is not a useable space being built in 1920's.
• Check-in time is 3PM.
NO Parties at all. No Smoking in the house, only in the garden please and not on deck. Do not spray ANY heavy perfumes in the house, light incense is allowed and no wood burning or candles.
Cannabis smoking is allowed if you have a medical license outside in the garden only. Also, my garden has neighbors across the alley and behind my yard so consideration with noise and voices after 9pm please. No use of the laundry room or facilities as I store my personal items and do not want access to this very small room off the kitchen. If you need to wash something in an emergency, I will make an exception for a one-time use.
No moving of furniture inside the house, no redecorating or changing the furniture or moving of any items to other rooms please. No removing of rugs or any chairs to other rooms or outside AT ALL please. I have antiques that are irreplaceable. Do not remove anything from drawers or cupboards that are not for your use and or personal items that belong to me or the house (keys, nails, electrical items, repair tools, tape, glue, home stuff, nuts and bolts, etc). No moving of anything or restructuring of where things are stored, dishes, pots and pans etc should all go back where they are found please. I do not wish my home reorganized so please be considerate and respectful as you would wish for your own home use.
Please CONSERVE electricity and shut off lights in any room that is not being occupied. Also, CONSERVE water as we are charged and in a 5 year drought currently so any excess use of either water, electricity or gas beyond what a normal use ($50 gas per mo, $50 water, $50 electricity) will be taken out of deposit and charged to the guest. NO exceptions.
We also must RECYCLE and sort our garbage (for those more than a night's stay), and so must you if you are coming from another part of the world, I would hope you can learn this process so we can all help save the Earth from being buried in plastic bags and garbage. Green for yard, Blue for paper, cans, plastic and containers from food rests etc and Grey is for garbage and food waste put in plastic bags as they are processed for fertilizer at our local recycling plant. Thanks for doing your share.
The Spa is only for one or two persons and requires you do not change any settings, nor press any buttons on the spa. It will automatically start water jets and filtration after you are seated. NO CLOTHING OF ANY KIND, WHATSOEVER and SHOWER BEFORE USE, NO OILS, NO PERFUMES, NO LOTIONS OR ANYTHING ADDED TO THE WATER OR ON YOUR BODY PLEASE. Use 1/2 capfull of bromide cleanser provided after each use and you MUST WAIT 24 hrs between uses to clean the filter and waste from water. If you don't, it will clog the brand new filter (Jan 30, 2016) and may damage the motor. This is a very small spa meant for light use, it is not fed fresh water but recycles it so whatever you put in stays in so please be considerate and don't use during ladies time of the month and no sexual or bodily fluids or the cost will be $500 to drain and restore the quality of the water. NOTE; NO CLOTHING OR FABRIC INSIDE SPA. BIRTHDAY SUIT OR LIGHT BATHING SUIT ONLY.
The Sauna has similar restrictions, only two and must use towels to sit on (they are provided inside the sauna) and only these towels must be used and for outside use only. The temp dial is bottom and top is the timing knob to turn to start the heating. NO WATER is poured on this type of Sauna or it will flood the flooring and warp the bottom on the wood boxed sauna. Be sure and shut off the light when you finish and unplug. Both sauna and spa are expensive to fix and replace. Any misuse of either or damages caused will be charged back to the guest. Please keep bedroom door shut and do not get inside bedroom wet. Please dry off entirely before entering house. Put wet towels on hook outside to dry for your next use or in back laundry room washer when you leave so we can wash please.
Lastly, all my drapes in the house are hand-made and hand-sewn and lined for keeping the cold out and the heat in. Do not leave doors open and the heater going as this is not cost-effective and wastes energy. Turn the heat off if you want the air. Heat is set at 65 degrees most of the year and we turn off heat in summer, no acceptions. Also, do not put anything on the heater grates on the floors as it will back up and cause a fire and damages. All extra pillows and blankets can be put on the setee in the bedroom if not wanted on the bed. Lastly, ABSOLUTELY NO eating of foods in the bedrooms or livingroom. The dining room is very pleasant and we ask this because we have ants and critters in beach communities and any foods (crumbs and just the smell of it) will bring ants that will take months to get rid of and they bring other problems so please do not eat in bedrooms and in livingroom. There are trays above the refrigerator as well.
