I'm an artist and teacher in New York City, living in Jersey City. I have a spare couch in a rarely used living room that could be yours.
The couch is in a separate living room (common area) with your own space. I have a bedroom with a door. You would have access to the BR and kitchen as needed.
I have a one bedroom apartment with a single couch in my living room. It's narrow but comfy. I have bedding. There is room for a mat or blow up mattress on the floor.
I live in the Journal Square section of Jersey City, two blocks away from the Path trains to the city. A short walk to trains that leave every 5-15 min to Manhattan and Newark, NJ.
Here in Jersey City, I live in the Little India section so there is always good curry and dosas! We have a great old theater near my house with special showings roughly once a month. There are also farmers markets in Jersey City from May- Fall.
One Stop on the path will get you to Grove Street, where there are many restaurants and bars with tons of young people. Two stops away will get you to Exchange Place which has wonderful views of downtown Manhattan and great restaurants. Or you can head over to Pavonia stop for shops and a huge movie theater.
I'm also close to Hoboken, NJ which is a large walking town of stores, restaurants, and waterfront!
It's just me, no pets. I have busy work hours, but am often free at night and in the mornings before work to help navigate, show you around, or hang out. I keep pretty late hours and early mornings, but can be considerate of guests alternate schedules.
Anytime is great to come. Stay a night or more.
If you are in need, I can accommodate more people. I have one couch, and a floor mat, but we can make it work if you are a group. Being respectful in my building is all that I ask.
