We appreciate your positive comments and thank you for letting us know about the two issues you had. I'm sorry you did not mention these when I contacted you, as I believe in taking care of an issue right away. Valerie and the staff enjoyed having your family at the villa and would have loved the chance to correct any mis-conceptions. Let me say, for sure, there was no requirement for you to read everything I sent you. Some guests want to get material on the area ahead of their trip and this is a service we provide. I'm sorry you did not understand, but we have a team approach to try to help our guests have a great vacation. Valerie and Yanet try really hard to make sure everything works well while guests are present. Valerie visits the villa to check on the staff and just make sure everything is running smoothly. The time she visits is totally dependent on what is going on at the other villas she manages. She does this in a professional manner, keeping out of the way of the guests, and interacting with guests when she encounters them. I do check in with the guests to make sure there are no problems and if there are any problems we are in a position to take care of it immediately. She or I will give tips and recommendations, like how to get the AC units in the bedrooms to work most efficiently, since we know some guests are used to central AC only. The suggestion to close the bedroom doors was simply a tip we know that cools the room faster and more efficiently. As you can tell, we are energy conscious, as most of Mexico and the Caribbean is, and we are well on our way to going green with some solar panels and our conservation efforts, which includes turning off the AC when guests are not in the villa. We do strive to offer excellent service to every group and our staff is trained with this goal in mind. The service we provide includes giving guests as much area and villa info as we can before they arrive, having Valerie arrange trips, tours and chef services and a well-maintained villa with supervised maid, pool and grounds service. We are aware that this is not the typical rental service, but this is what we choose to provide. We are in a gated community and we do like to know who will be in the villa, so we ask for guests’ names. We do not rent to teens, so we ask about age, but as I state in your welcome letter, you are not required to give this information. That’s it. We ask for no other information.
