Homely apartment for week long rentals in the heart of the Maurienne valley with superb access to the three valleys ski area via the 3v express gondola, +10 other ski/mountain resorts in the Maurienne and the Vanoise national park.
The ~45 Sqm apartment located in Residence Le Hameau des Eaux Orelle comes with a contrasting finish and competitive price versus the majority of others in the Residence.
To those less familiar, the commune of Orelle is located in the middle of the picturesque Maurienne valley and is superbly located for various outdoor pursuits...
Skiing in the 3 vallees (the words largest linked ski domain) - With the purpose built 3 valless express telecabine situated in Orelle you are just 15 minutes away from skiing in the world largest ski area after riding on the worlds largest telecabine. Snow is guaranteed from December to May as the telecabine drops you off at the ~2400m plan bouchet, with onward access to Val Thoren, Meribel and Courcheval. Between Orelle and Val Thorens you have the ability to fly like a bird rather than skiing, taking the 100km/h zip line 'the Tyrolienne'. However if your just starting out skiing there is a training area at the top of the Gondola and the ESF ski school.
Within a short drive of +10 other Maurienne valley mountain resorts (skiing, hiking etc.) - If you want to try another ski resort the Maurienne has a wealth of opportunities to try somewhere new for a day trip (22 in total). You even have the option to buy a 6 day pass for the entire valley (which is considerably cheaper than a 6 day 3v pass - see links). Personal favourites include Aussios, LaNorma and Vallorie (all great in summer too for hiking, mountain biking, via ferata, climbing). Note: I very strongly recommend that guests have a car, not only to potentially visit other resorts but for travel to the locals towns 5-10 mins away for shopping etc - Modane , St Michelle De Maurienne and St Jean de Maurienne.
Road biking in the Maurienne (the worlds largest cycling domain) - Those familiar with road biking will have heard of Galibier, La Toussuire, Val Frejus, Croix de la Fer etc (naming just a few). With Orlle being right in the heart of the worlds biggest cycle domain you can be impersonating Tour De France greats by reaching the foot of these famous climbs s first national park) - For those interested in hiking, climbing and nature spotting the vanoise national park is right on the door step. In fact the apartment its self has a wealth of mapped/signposted walking trails just outside the front door... ranging from 1 hour trails with the opportunity to see deer, to +5 hr treks above the tree-line into the Vanoise with Marmots aplenty.
An hour and half away from Lyon, Turin, Grenoble - If you fancy a off outdoor pursuits these bustling cities are just a short drive away for shopping/sightseeing... as is the superb Rhone Alpes Walibi theme park.

"Why did I buy / recommend the apartment?"
Its a well finished pad (warm, spacious, power shower, superb views), with all the perks (pool, high speed wifi, spa, little super market, good beer in the bar!), well priced (less than half the cost of a Meribel, VT pad - with friendlier locals) and in the most unbelievable location... for skiing you have the ability to try multiple different resorts in the Maurienne if you want to try something different to the world biggest ski domain on the doorstep (3v); its in the middle of the biggest cycle area in the world with handfuls of the most famous Tour de France climbs less than 30 mins cycle from the door; multiple Ski resorts turned mountain biking/hiking destinations in summer including the amazing Vanoise national park; quaint sized towns 15 mins away (St Jean De Maurienne, Modane) and Lyon/Turin 1.5 hrs away for day trips!
Its just perfect for active families at any time of the year.
"What do I think is the unique benefit?"
So many.... but for me its the location... For outdoor pursuits and to get away from the concrete abyss, the apartment is perfect!
Best in class skiing, rock-climbing and road/mountain biking opportunities aside; the apartment its self has a wealth of mapped/signposted walking trails just outside the front door... ranging from 1 hour trails with the opportunity to see deer, to +5 hr treks above the tree-line into the Vanoise with Marmots aplenty (these walking trails really are superb and personal favourite of mine - if you want any information on this, just get in touch with me).
You definitely wont get bored at any time of the year if your active.

-High speed Wifi available for €15 per week (standard across the residence; sign up onsite; covers 2 concurrent devices)
-Please be aware that the security deposit is mandatory. As its our family holiday home please understand that we have to do this to safeguard against any material damage/theft
-A 'cleaning fee' is charged for the changeover and washing of linen and basic cleaning. It does not mean the apartment can It is expected that the apartment is left in the condition that is expected to be found (no rubbish, dishes cleaned/packed away and cleaned)
-Potential nightly rate available upon request (for stays less than 7 nights). Contact the seller.
-The Spa and Pool area is closed during the off season during Sept-Nov
-No smoking (if needed please ensure its limited to the balcony)
-No mens swimming trunks in the spa/pool; speedo's and tight shorts only (not my rule!)
-No touching of any of owners personal belongings within the bedrooms storage area
-The apartment is to be left in the condition you wish to find it (cleaned, no rubbish, all dishes cleaned and packed away)
