One of the best things therefor travellers, is the location which is central to the beach, the village of Takapuna, the city and Devonport. It is very quick and easy to go by bus to the city, (15mins) .This house is a classic wooden bungalow, a design unique to NZ. All built of wood about 90 years ago. The rooms are spacious and light. A trip to picturesque Devonport (15mins on bus) can be capped off with a ferry trip over the harbour to downtown Auckland city.

In addition to the private bedroom guests have shared access to the bathroom, living room, dining, kitchen and laundry. Short stays (3-4nights) enable the bathroom to be private too. Bed linen and towels are supplied. Reasonable use of the washing machine is ok. There is an outside drying line. The outside decks and garden are lovely to relax in sun or shade. It is only about 8minutes to walk to the beach or the local Takapuna village shops, restaurants and cafes. There is also a cinema and many bars. Cycle repair shops, outdoor equipment supplies are a 5 min walk away too. As are 2 supermarkets.

Guests will be welcomed by the owner who has travelled to many other countries including safariing in Africa; many miles of ocean sailing; skiing in Canada and Europe; etc etc. She loves to meet other travellers and share her local area and NZ. She is often away so depending on your timing you may have the house to yourselves.
