I'll meet you when we check in. I live right below you, so please don't stomp around. No parties. Stay somewhere else if that's the nature of your stay.
Lincoln square is a wonderful, safe, area that's bubbling with trendy restaurants, grocery stores, and transportation options. You can walk here anytime day or night and you are safe. It's an incredibly nice area of town that features the rare combo of family friendly, safe, and nightlife.

Permit required to park on Bell, but Montrose is free. Just pay attention to ALL posted signs to make sure. If you ask me if your car is ok where it's parked- I won't know the answer bc um not there lol. Just read all the signs and you can't go wrong :)
FROM THE AIRPORT
-CAB- Wait in the "taxi line" outside of baggage claim. Provide driver with the address and the nearest cross streets (Montrose & Lincoln). With no traffic it's $32 and 20 minutes. With traffic it's up to an hour.
-DRIVING PLATFORMS- download the apps for Uber, Lyft or Sidecar on your phone (see the coupon codes I listed below), and order a car through the app. Some companies won't pick you up at the airport and some do "price surging," so I always stick with regular taxi cabs FROM the airport and use Uber to get TO the airport. With no traffic it's about $18 and takes 20 minutes. With traffic it can cost up to $45 and can take up to an hour.
-PUBLIC TRANSIT or "The El"- take blue line from airport and get off at Montrose blue line stop, then catch the 78 bus to Montrose & Oakley street, it's a 1-minute walk ($2.25 per person and about 45 mins door-to-door).
-Or if you want to stick to El trains- take the blue line from the airport to the loop and transfer to the brown line in the direction of "Kimball" and get off at the Montrose brown line stop and walk 1 minutes down Montrose (1hr 30 mins)
GETTING AROUND CHICAGO:
To get around the city with convenient car shares, there always Uber or Lyft, or feel free to try Sidecar- which is like the latest Uber. To get a free rides, down load the app on your phone and use my code:
For sidecar: Moog1
For Lyft: megan955026
For Uber: meganh870
If everyone in your party does this, you can probably ride free all weekend :)
OR: use the el, it's an 8-minute walk from the Montrose Brown line stop, which takes you the loop in 20 minutes (once you're on the train) and costs $2.25. Or an 18-minute walk from the Ravenswood metra station, which takes you either out to the suburbs or downtown to Ogilvie Station and the fabulous French Market in 15 minutes (once you're in the train) and costs $3.50.
