Hi my name is Michiyo!
I teach Shamisen, a traditional Japanese three stringed instrument, and I am trying to connect with people from all around the world through shamisen.
Few minutes away from the Osaka Tenman-gu, there is the Japan's longest shopping street called "Tenjinbashisuji Shotengai" where my shamisen school is located at. A lot of my students are foreigners who are interested in the Japanese culture.
I also sell iPad apps where you can download shamisen music as well as English version of shamisen electronic book.
Most of you might not know but Osaka is where shamisen was originated. When Osaka castle was built, people in Osaka arranged an instrument that was made in China and renamed it shamisen.
The oldest shamisen is called the "Kamigata Shamisen". Kamigata means the area around Kyoto and Osaka. I love Osaka, and I am blessed to be born and raised in this city.
Looking forward to meeting many new friends!
Hope I get to host you soon!
