We are always on hand to offer assistance and advice to help you enjoy your holiday to the maximum. But we are aware it is your holiday so will respect your privacy.
The house is in the village of Breasclete, about 3 miles from Callanish Standing Stones. There is a Visitor Centre near the stones which has a gift shop and cafe. The nearest hotel is 3 miles in the other direction at Doune, Carloway where you can also visit an ancient stone broch. The west side of Lewis is rich with historical sites.
There are numerous freshwater lochs for fishing for brown trout and there are a couple of fishing estates nearby where you buy permits to fish for salmon and sea trout.
We love taking a walk out the back of the house where you can see some great views of the hills and lochs. You an also take a short walk down to the seashore where there is a rocky beach where at low tide you can explore the rockpools or go for a swim.
Best to have your own car but there is a bus service 3-4 times a day depending on the season which does the circular route from Stornoway around the island coming past the property in both directions.
The nearest petrol station is in Cameron Terrace (10 miles and in the other direction Barvas (14) but there are plentiful in Stornoway. There are numerous car hire firms some based at the airport.
Many of the most beautiful beaches and visitor attractions are off the beaten track in remoter locations so it's best to have a vehicle.

Always book travel well in advance especially at peak times for ferries. Caledonian MacBrayne sail from Ullapool to Stornoway the nearest town or you can choose other routes to the islands like coming through Skye to catch the Uig toTarbert ferry. Check out the hopscotch rates (in one port out another).
Sunday is a special day in the islands so don't expect to find shops and other businesses open, they're are a few who do but just be aware and plan accordingly.
There is no smoking permitted within the property and although we don't mind you taking your pets they must be kept to certain areas and on no account permitted on the soft furnishings. We expect people to respect and love the house as much as we do.
Wenn du bis zu 5 Tage vor deinem Aufenthalt stornierst, erhältst du eine volle Rückerstattung, inklusive Service-Gebühren.
Wife, mother, crofter, event manager....seeking the sunshine as it seems to elude the Hebrides at times when I am able to need it. Oh and I also have a self catering property on the west side of Lewis and I know what it's like to upkeep and more importantly what I'm looking for when I visit other properties.
