Unfortunately what Laura failed to mention was that she sent me a message immediately when she arrived saying that she was very happy with the tiny house and how cute it was! She did not mention anything about the house being unclean and she actually slept in the house for an entire night before she decided the property was "unclean". I certainly would not sleep in a house that I felt was unclean and would not refuse to let the professional, reputable cleaning company return to re-clean the house. When she mentioned there was ONE hair in the shower, I immediately offered to have the professional cleaning company, who had cleaned before she arrived, re-clean the entire house while she was working, at no additional cost to her. She then mentioned the next day that there were ants, which unfortunately is not uncommon this time of year in the Shenandoah Valley. We treat the home regularly and the cleaning company even sent us pictures of the house before her arrival and after her departure showing a home completely free of ants. The bug accusation is completely absurd and a flat out lie. I told her if she was concerned about the ants that I would be happy to have our property management company address the "ants" that she was referencing but she never allowed us to enter the property and "see the ants" that she mentioned. Interestingly enough, I went to the property immediately after she left and did not see a single ant the entire time I was there. Laura is upset because she demanded a complete refund for her stay and we refused to provide her with a full refund since she never allowed us to remedy the "concerns" but rather, she appears to be someone who is taking advantage of an opportunity to get a refund for no reason. We have been in the vacation rental business for over 10 years and are very reasonable, fair people. If we feel there was a legitimate concern, we will certainly provide a refund as long as we are able to confirm that the issues are legitimate. When someone refuses to let us reclean (when they are concerned about cleaning) and refuses to let us see ants and doesn't have any pictures to show the ants, and when we return to the property, there are no evidence of ants, we know that this guest is dishonest and trying to get a refund with no merit.
