Our Redwood Kottage is located on the 1st floor of our Kalamazoo Avenue location in the heart of the Historic Stuart Neighborhood, 1/2 mile away from the downtown district and sleeps 4 guests.
Smoking is prohibited indoors. If it is determined that smoking has occurred indoors during your stay, a $200 charge will apply to cover damages.
Smoking is allowed outdoors only and away from other guests and open windows.
Well traveled pets are welcomed..
-Only small to medium size dogs allowed (60 lbs. max)
-Maximum of 2 pets per kottage
-Barking is strictly prohibited even in the case of the occasional barker. Example: When a door is closed.
-Pets must be leashed when out of the room.
-Pets must be cleaned and on flea medication prior to arrival.
-Extra charges apply; $15/night/pet for up to 2 pets. Will apply rate post booking. Therefore, all guest need to note that they intent to bring a pet.
-Owners should bring their own pet bedding and dishes
-Dog crates are encouraged to prevent damage when owner is away. Any damage will be the responsibility of the owner.
-Pets are not allowed on ANY of the furnishings. Protective covers advisable, just in case (please bring your own).
-Flower beds and ground cover are not to be used for dog business and certainly not left behind.
Many attempts have been made to make all of Kara's Kottages child-friendly and safe for all of our guests, both inside and out. However, if we know that a small child will be present, we will happily go the extra mile to implement additional safety features such as baby gates and receptacle protection.
We ask that you exercise extreme caution while burning candles
-Please do not bring your own candles
-Keep wicks trimmed so that the candle burns properly and safely
-Do not burn candles that are placed inside of a book shelf
-Do not burn candles while asleep
-Do not tip over candles while burning when wax has liquefied
-Guest will be charged for any damages associated with candles
Parking is provided in a private parking lot behind the house along the two fences that have string lights on them. Please do not block the driveway of the house behind us as our driveway is a legal right of way for them.
As die-hard stewards of the planet, we take great pride in our efforts to minimize our ecological footprint. In turn we ask that our guests recycle all possible "trash" (paper, plastic, glass & aluminum), placing them in the wooden box next to the trash can. We'll make sure that all recyclable items don't end up in landfills!
We also request that guest be conscious of waste on the part of heating, cooling and electricity.
-Please adjust temperatures when you're away for long periods. It heats and cools very quickly.
Please, always close the windows when using heating or cooling and turn lights off while away.
Safety against theft
We ask our guest to be mindful of their possessions and the protection of the home. Theft has never been an issue here and we would like to keep it that way. Your efforts:
-Not leaving valuable items in plain sight inside of your vehicle and locking vehicles at all times.
-Closing doors behind you so that the house is locked at all times. Doors lock automatically.
-Not leaving valuable items out on the patio
