The Sorya Homestay in Tropang Sdock is the ideal way to experience the Cambodian countryside from a local perspective and to meet fantastic people
Sorya Homestay is a lovely and welcoming place for anyone who wants to experience the beauty and peace of our Cambodian countryside. Located in Takeo Province, about 62 km south of Phnom Penh we are located in Tropang Sdock close to the famous Phnom Chisor tempel mountain.
Our Homestay is a unique place on the first floor of a traditional Khmer wooden house situated on the premises of the Sorya NGO. You can sit and relax under our mango tree or comfortably swing in the hammock on the balcony in front of your simple but comfortable room. You will sleep in a double bed with a moskito net and a fan for your comfort.
Our minimum stay is 2 nights.
UDS 17 per person / night include:
Food USD 6 (three meals per day, vegan/vegetarian options available)
Bike rental USD 1 per person / day
Transportation USD 5 (return journey Phrasat Neang Kmoa to Tropang Sdock)
As our village is very remote, we recommend spending at least two nights in the Homestay in order to fully benefit from your stay. Our guide Sitha will show you around in the area (for USD 5 per place) which offers a lot to discover such as the holy lake, the temple mountain, our village life and celebrations etc. Moreover, you will meet local people and the volunteers working as teachers in our Sorya school for children. You can get involved and mingle in or just find your ways in privacy by foot or by bike.
We are sure that you will have an unforgettable experience at Sorya Homestay, far from the hustle of Phnom Penh or on your way south to popular destinations such as Kampot, Kep or Sihanoukville. By the way, your payments will be used for additional funding of Sorya Cambodian Development Organisation.
Please contact Sitha to answer any further questions you might have.
We look forward to welcoming you!

In our wooden (!) Khmer house, smoking is obviously not allowed in the whole 1st. floor where your room is located. But you can smoke anywhere else - sitting under the mango-tree, on the open staircase or in the garden - as long as there are no school-children around (;-).
We are nestled in the countryside in a traditional village where people go to bed early. Means we are not exactly a party location. So please just adapt to your surroundings. And: absolutely no drugs!
