This is a spacious, quiet and well-lit room with direct garden access, in a traditional Brooklyn brownstone building - perfect place to come and relax from the fast pace of New York.
This is the garden-facing room in the ground floor of a traditional Brooklyn brownstone home. Originally built for a single family, each floor in the brownstone had its own purpose. The ground floor was where the kitchen was and the servants lived, which led to a unique set up of the floor. Today, this makes the rooms in the apartment almost completely separated from each other. The room is in the back (away from the street - very quiet), has a private access, and direct access to the kitchen and the garden. There is no shared space in the apartment - you have the entire room for yourself, and everything you need accessible directly from it.
I recently re-designed the room - I wanted to make it feel connected to the garden: it is filled with light, green colors, plants, large farm table and rustic accessories and lighting. This feels more like a country home than a city apartment.
Zugang für Gäste
The ground floor has a separate entrance from the rest of the building. The hallway leads to a door directly into the room. From this room, you will have direct access to a fully-accessorized kitchen (including dishwasher), a bathroom with a bathtub, and the highlight: a large and lush garden. You can have your meals in the garden, or just sit and enjoy a drink or tea at the end of your day.
Weitere wichtige Infos
Accessibility: the apartment is 3 steps down from the street level. There's a small step down going out from the room to the garden.
The room has a strong heater and a fan. Humidifier is available as well if needed. There is a wall closet with hangers and shelves, and room for suitcases/bags. A Bluetooth speaker is available for you to play music in the room.
The kitchen is fully accessorized - you're welcome to use it and cook your meals at home.
The shower has very strong water pressure, and a hot tub. The room is narrow, at one point measures 16" (41cm) wide.
As the room is private, you will have the freedom to enjoy it as you please. I do ask to keep noise levels down, as I often do work from home. No need to tip toe around the house, it's more about not throwing a party while here... I also ask to avoid bringing other guests to the house.
Smoking is not allowed inside the house, but you can smoke in the garden.
Please inquire about bringing in a pet - it's possible, based on the type/size.
Please no children under 18.
I will share the floor with you, but provide you with plenty of privacy, as there is no shared space in the apartment other than the kitchen and bathroom, and my room has a separate entrance. I am available though for anything you might need during your stay: from fresh towels and linens, to tips and recommendations about the neighborhood and your visit to New York. I am a traveler myself, and have also already hosted guests from across the U.S, Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Paris, London, Berlin and Tel Aviv. I can give you all the information that is actually relevant for your visit and stay, so you can make the most of your time in New York.

Traveling has been such a great passion of mine in the past few years, and I was lucky to be able to travel for 5-6 months each year. I've been across the U.S and Canada, Central America, South America and Europe, and each trip taught me new things. I'm curious to keep exploring as well as go back to places I've been and the people I met. As a traveler I personally prefer to skip most of the tourist attractions, and try to experience the city more as a local. I've definitely seen a learning curve as a traveler, and I'm happy to be able to offer this perspective to New York visitors who are curious and want to see more of the city.
