Planning a trip to New Orleans and want to stay in the best neighborhood? Check out this beautiful space in historic Uptown New Orleans. The house is perfect for 2, but can accommodate 3 or 4 visitors.

*This is my primary residence, and only an Airbnb when I am traveling*
This house is fully furnished and comfortable. It is a two-bay shotgun house, and is not connected to another apartment. The living room is divided by a large brick chimney with a functional fireplace. It has 1 loft bedroom and 1 bath with fully furnished kitchen. A spiral staircase leads you to the bedroom with a comfortable, memory foam queen bed. The futon in the living room has a thick mattress that makes a double bed as well. There is a dining nook with a collapsible table. Separate A/C units that also have heaters control temp in downstairs and bedroom, separately. The bathroom is equipped with a fan/heat unit as well.

This house has 2 televisions (OTA channels) and wireless Internet. The living room features a smart TV with Netflix and other apps. An iPod dock stereo is located in both the living room and bedroom as well. The kitchen is furnished with plenty cooking equipment and spices, a coffee grinder, drip pot, and French press. It has a new stove, microwave, and convection oven.

I will provide clean linens and blankets for the bed and futon, and clean bath towels and wash cloths. Guests may use the kitchen for cooking, but please try to keep the place tidy.

I will interact with guests as much as desired by the guest. I am always responsive to your needs during your visit. I have shared meals with guests, and provided transportation to events. If I am available during your stay, don't hesitate to ask me for assistance or advice. Sometimes I will be out of town during your visit, but other times I will be in the neighborhood.

If you don't have any profile information filled out, I will still be happy to have you as a guest, but we may need to discuss your booking prior. I would prefer doing this because it will be easier for both of us if you are new to Airbnb and not sure about the process. I want to make sure that we are both confident about the details of your trip and how to use the site.

I have spent time all over New Orleans and this is, by far, my favorite neighborhood. My apartment is walking distance to many great restaurants, art galleries, and Magazine Street shopping. There are several venues only blocks away that offer live music just about every night - Tipitina's is 5 blocks away. Great restaurants are nearby: La Boulangerie is 1 block, Apolline is 2 blocks. Within a 10 minute walk are many others: Dominique, New York Pizza, Sukho Thai, Superior Seafood, Magasin, and more. Enjoy some fresh oysters at Casamento's (3 blocks) or Pascal's Manale (about 8 blocks)

There are also large groceries, pharmacies, bars, restaurants, and several churches within a few blocks' walk. Hop on the Magazine bus (1 block) or the historic St. Charles Avenue street car (4 blocks) to get downtown to the Superdome, French Quarter, Aquarium, and WWII Museum. Audubon Park and Zoo and Tulane University are nearby as well. The popular Freret Street corridor is walking distance with bars, live music, and restaurants. The architecture in this neighborhood is wonderful - a mix of Creole, Victorian, Greek Revival, Italianate, and modern houses. In the 1870's, New Orleans annexed "Jefferson City," which was built on the former Bouligny Plantation. Some of the houses in this neighborhood were built in the late 19th century.

The (11) Magazine bus is 1 block, or the historic St. Charles Avenue street car is 4 blocks - both are easy to access and go downtown. There is bus service from the airport to downtown, but I recommend a taxi because of the extended time this bus may take. Going to the French Quarter or Convention Center takes about 15 by car, and 30 by public transit.

The quickest public transit downtown is the Magazine (11) bus.

About the house: this house is a two-bay shotgun house. It was built in the 1890s and features the original earth brick chimney, pine floors, tongue and groove ceiling, and double hung windows. A "camel back" was added to the house around 1970, but the front two rooms are unaltered. The house next door was a corner store (as most blocks had one) and the awning remains. This area of Uptown was built on the property of the Bouligny Plantation.

Die Check-in-Zeit ist 10:00 – 23:00.

I really do not have "rules," but I do not allow smoking inside the house, and ask that you respect the neighbors. This house shares a courtyard with my neighbors, who are also my very good friends. You are welcome to relax in the courtyard at any time, but please pick up trash and keep the noise at conversation level.

Nutzerprofil von JeffJeff ist ein Superhost.

I am a Louisiana native and have been living in New Orleans since 2005. I grew up in a rural part of the state, spending much of my time fishing and on the water. My family speaks Cajun French, and I am proud to share our culture with visitors.

I love to travel and to meet new people. I enjoy visitors and sharing my city and Louisiana with them. I'm interested in local history and culture, and cook frequently. I am very active in the local running and Crossfit communities, and love the outdoors.

I am a Clinical Systems Analyst in a hospital in the Greater New Orleans area. Though I am skilled with computers, I love the outdoors and old fashioned things much more than gadgets and new technology. I hope to meet people in my travels and hosting through Airbnb.
