This is a historic home dating around the late 1700's, so it's old! And we want our guests to enjoy all the charm its age brings with it, but we do expect guests to treat the home with care and absolutely no smoking or candles.

Welcome to Green Springs!

Just a couple of things to mention so you can fully enjoy your stay on the farm.

1. The back light is motion sensor, but the front light is manual. The switch is right next to the front door.

2. Watch your head going up the stairs! The clearance is low.

3. We do NOT have cable, but provide lots of DVDs, and if there isn't anything to your liking, text us and we can bring some more options over.

4. There is no wifi; however, cell reception is fine and we do everything on our phones.

5. Close all gates you open so that the cows stay where they're supposed to stay. Be mindful of where you step because there will be cow pies.

6. It's about a 20 minute hike to the Lake. You will have to cross a creek (that can get high after a big rain). There is absolutely NO swimming-no humans or dogs. It's a private shared lake among the neighbors.

7. Being in the country, there are a fair share of spiders, ticks, bugs, and animals. Just be aware of your surroundings.

10. When checking out, please turn off both ACs and let us know that you have left.

11. If there is ANYTHING that you need, please text/call/carrier pigeon/knock on the door. We want to make your stay as wonderful and peaceful as possible.

8. The pool is private. If you wish to swim, let us know when you would like to go and we will coordinate with you. Absolutely NO animals in the pool under any circumstances!

RULES FOR GUESTS BRINGING THEIR PET/S:
1. You must pick up after them. We have provided little green bags for your use. Please use them.

2. If you're planning to leave the cottage for an extended amount of time, your pet must be in a crate (that you bring) or taken with you. They cannot stay in the cottage unattended (it's a historic home and we don't want anything to be damaged).

3. No pets in the pool at all. Ever. If you wish for your pet to be near you, we have a spike that you can place in the ground nearby.

Thank you!! And we look forward to having you here!

The cottage is so peaceful and lovely. It is exactly as described-- cozy and simple. We were able to do quite a bit of cooking during our stay-- but bring everything you'll need. The kitchen does have pots for the stove and dishes/utensils. Our dogs loved running in the fields. The cows were so fun to watch over tea in the morning. A perfect romantic retreat!

Cute, dog friendly getaway close to Charlottesville. We loved hearing cows moo as we used the pool:)

Lovely natural setting - long alley of trees, cows munching grass in the field, a pond full of frogs down the hill. The old brick and timber walls of the cottage are beautiful. Quiet but within easy reach of Gordonsville town and Charlottesville. Don't miss the fascinating Exchange Hotel Museum. Would love to spend more time in this area.

Kim's home is among the cleanest I've stayed in on AirBNB and was incredibly cozy for a weekend getaway. If a relaxing weekend away from the rat race is what you're looking for, this is the place for you.

Our bungalow was even better than what was described!!! From the moment that we drove down the scenic driveway we felt all the stress of our city lives melt away. Waking up to the scenic views on the plantation and strolling over to take a dip in the pool are just a couple of the features that will leave you with lasting memories. The bungalow itself was even better than describe and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our stay. Check in and check out was a breeze and Kim was available for any questions we had. We highly recommend staying here.

The bungalow was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had whatever we needed to cook a meal but being 20 minutes away from Charlottesville meant we never had to as great restaurants were not far. The bed was comfortable and the remodeled bathroom was clean. We were able to enjoy the pool and walk the grounds of the farm and take in the scenery. Would highly recommend staying here. Never stayed somewhere on the National Historic Register. Very cool!

My husband, daughter (almost 2 years old), and dog had a wonderful stay at the bungalow. It's quaint and full of charm. There was enough space for the 3 of us. Our dog was so happy to be able to run around off leash! The farm is beautiful! It's peaceful out there. We enjoyed watching the cows and seeing the lightning bugs in the evening. We swam in the pool one evening. It's a nice pool and we had it to ourselves. We cooked meals in the kitchen. It's small, but it has the essentials. There's a small refrigerator and freezer. The bungalow is in a great location. We enjoyed exploring the area. It didn't take long to drive to local attractions-Vineyards (highly recommend Keswick Vineyards-it even has a fenced-in dog area), parks, restaurants, etc. We wish we could have stayed longer because there's so much to do around there!
