We loved Eryun's place. For anything in or near Reykjavík this was an outstanding value. We would recommend this to anyone. Eryun was more than accommodating and genuinely wonderful.

Our experience in Iceland with Eyrun was okay while I think I should leave an objective comment as a reference for the other travelers. The room is in the basement and I have to say the room is very basic. besides the bed, there're a chair, a small table and a small cabinet with a kettle in that room, as well as a simply clothes hanger, the ceiling lamp was broken and there's an easy lamp placed on the cabinet, which is the only lamp in that room. The bed is soft and comfortable. We stayed in Iceland for 6 days and we were granted a permission to use the upstairs kitchen after asking. I am grateful that we could cook there before we went out and after we came back from the tour everyday, and we did our best to keep it as quiet as possible. However, I have to admit, if you value tidiness and cleanliness, that kitchen and the living room upstairs will probably influence your mood a lot in a negative way. We had to clean the dirty things on the surface of the table, stove and etc. before we started cooking so that there could be some very limited clean space for us to place our food. But you don't need to worry about it if you don't need to go upstairs. All in all, based on all my previous experience in different places booked in Airbnb, I have to say honestly, if you're looking for a quite, clean, organized place, and this could influence your mood for traveling, this is not suitable for you for sure. However, if you don't mind the things listed above and you need a relatively affordable place, then this is fine for you.

Dear Vivian. Thank you for this review. I feel that I need to add to it for being completely accurate. As you might have noticed when you came uninvited upstairs to the third floor, into my bedroom (which is my absolute private area with bedroom for myself and my family) asking for hair products (shampoo) that I have had a big surgery. That was very visible. Kitchen and living room are my private area and are not part of the airbnb space. However, I have a lot of young travelers staying and if they ask to use the kitchen I always allow them because I understand that prices in Iceland are so expensive that dining out 1-2 times a day is not in the budget. So when you asked to use the kitchen I allowed you to do so (even though I did not expect cooking in all hours, leaving heavy food smell both late at night as well as early in the morning) even though I was scheduled for a big surgery. Having had this surgery, while you were staying, I was completely without competence to take care of my house - which explained why the main floor (which is at all not indented for airbnb guests) was not up to highest cleaning standard for the time you stayed. As a matter of fact I lost my vision for three days after the surgery so in fact I had no possibilities of being cleaning the area. I feel very sad that, in spite of my hospitality if allowing you to use the kitchen, free of charge, for the stay, that you would not take into account that I very obviously had huge surgery during the time you stayed. Thank you for staying and I hope all the best for you. Eyrún

Simple yet affordable and located just a few minute drive from the heart of Reykjavík and a perfect launching point for day trips to much of what you'll likely want to see within a week's time in Iceland. Eryún was very hospitable and a friendly host.

Nice and clean, and many buses takes you there from Reykjavík center

Eyrún's place is a good value for the expensive city of Reykjavik. The room was spacious and clean, though the bathroom was small and it was hard to use the sink. After some of the other guests showered, the bathroom floor was covered in watered for the rest of the day.
