Whats it really like to stay?
The house is all yours for your stay. It is a private home and has some quirks for that reason. The street is made up of Georgian and Victorian houses and has been the backdrop for many films and TV shows.

It is a fantastic place to stay being so close to Westminster, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, Southbank, Shakespeare's Globe and St Paul's Cathedral and much more. If you require any tips or advice about your stay please do get in touch with us and ask, we would be more than happy to help. As we mentioned the house is Georgian, built around 1815 and tightly packed within other residential houses and commercial properties as this are in London used to be ) of the poorest districts in London, it has three staircases and whilst the bedrooms, TV room/Dining room and Bathroom are a good size, the kitchen and hallways are small but functional. The barbershop above the premises is open until 5pm on weekdays so you may be able to hear some noise during the day, this is most prominent downstairs in the basement TV room. We are also in central London with high foot traffic to Waterloo and dense commercial and residential streets. Whilst we have made every effort to protect the bedrooms from noise with double glazing and thick curtains, it can sometimes be intermittently noisy at night because of its location.

Great transport links surrounding the house. Waterloo underground is less than a minute away, Bus stop just across the street and black taxis drive by constantly. If you feel like getting some fresh air and take a spin along the Southbank you have Barclays cycle hire across the street as well.

Leider haben wir die Wohnung falsch eingeschätzt. Das Schlafzimmer zur Strassenseite ist doch ziemlich hellhörig. Die Gespräche vorbeilaufender Passanten sind gut zu verstehen. Auch der Strassenverkehr und die Züge sind deutlich hörbar. Der Fernseher im Wohnzimmer (Keller) war defekt. Die Wohnung hat sehr viele und enge Treppen. Nichts für Menschen mit Knieproblemen. Wohnzimmer, Küche, Bad, Schlafzimmer und Dachterrasse sind jeweils (!) durch Treppen getrennt. Lediglich die beiden Schlafzimmer sind auf einer Ebene. Die Wohnung hat sicherlich einen ganz besonderen Charme und ist ideal für jüngere Menschen die das Stadtleben lieben und einen guten Schlaf haben. Leider gehören wir nicht zu dieser Zielgruppe. Das war auch der Grund, warum wir diese Wohnung nach nur einer Nacht verlassen haben und über Airbnb in eine andere, für uns besser geeignete Wohnung zogen.

Just got done spending 4 great days in John's beautiful flat with my wife and my parents. The location was perfect just steps away from Waterloo station, and an easy walk to so many attractions. The flat itself was so comfortable and well maintained and the check in and check out process was a breeze. Also the bakery across the street is an absolute must for delicious coffee and pastries. I'd highly recommend using John's flat if you're planning a trip to London.

Our stay at John's apartement was really nice! We had a great time in this cosy place in a quite, beautiful road. John was a perfect host and we were very thankful that he was so flexible with the check-in/out times! Although it's not the cheapest AirBnB it was really worth it and we enjoyed the rooftop alot;) Cheers

Best place to stay! Clean, beautiful and close to everything! Will deff stay here again if we come back to London ! John was great and we had no complaints at all !

We really liked John place (family with two kids 10 and 13) as it was close to everything, clean, calm and a super cake shop right at the opposite (with 5 different sort of brownies :)

Perfect location, just 3mins to the Waterloo station and most bus stops.London eye and Big Ben are not far from the house.Also,the house is very nice and comfortable
