Die Unterkunft

Charm and character flow from every aspect of this endearing early Victorian residence, set on a large corner allotment in a convenient and quiet location. This is one of the oldest homes in North Fitzroy dating back to the 1860s and recently restored to its former glory. Everyone who has lived or stayed here has mentioned that it is a lovely and unique home. It always feels welcoming and inviting when you return to this sanctuary after the busyness, excitement and challenges of the day.

This home offers a granite kitchen and dining area, master bedroom with queen size bed and a beautifully appointed lounge room . A new comfortable sofa that converts to a queen size bed makes up the second bedroom and there is a luxurious, modern spa bathroom with all amenities. A rear verandah descends to a private, north-facing garden with entertainer's terrace and room for outdoor eating. Parking, hydronic heating, air-conditioning, and Baltic flooring further enhance a heart-warming home, perfect for a romantic or family getaway.

Guests will have access to the whole house and back garden. This is not a shared accomodation arrangement.
There is a gym nearby if you would like to maintain a regular workout.
It is only a ten minute walk from the cottage and has casual rates for visitors.

The fantastic North Fitzroy neighbourhood and local community offer so much. Although just minutes from the CBD, it is a quiet, nurturing area with Merri Creek's extensive walking and cycling tracks on your doorstep. Edinburgh Gardens, Princes Park, Ceres and Fairfield Boathouse are all only a few minutes away. Wonderful cafes and restaurants catering to an array of cuisines abound within easy walking or driving distance. Terrific bread shops, deli's and organic food shops as well as those providing all the usual needs, from friendly and helpful people, make shopping a pleasure.
Surrounded by Carlton, Clifton Hill, Alphington, Brunswick, Northcote and Parkville, every conceivable type of entertainment, educational, sporting and social venue is only minutes away.

Verkehrsmittel

An easy ten minute walk to either the tram or train means that traveling is a breeze! The Number 11 tram on St Georges Road will take you to the city via Collins Street and ending at Victoria Harbour Docklands (The Melbourne Eye). The 96 tram on Nicholson Street will take you into the city via Southern Cross station (factory outlets) and then all the way to St Kilda Beach. The nearby train will take you directly to the MCG! Information regarding the routes and how to access a Myki card is provided at the cottage.

This was a lovely cottage immaculately clean and beautifully presented. Debbie was a great host who had eggs bread etc in the fridge and much more. I am looking forward to staying again. Thanks so much Debbie

I recently rented this property from Debbie for my sister and her family when they came down to Melbourne to visit from Sydney. Both myself and my sister were very impressed with the place, the key pick-up was hassle free and Debbie was kind enough to leave items such as cereal packs, orange juice and milk. Also, the house was exceptionally clean, spacious and well maintained and the bathroom was large which was great for bathing the children and well stocked with shampoo and body wash. My sister and the family also appreciated the garden out the back- where the kids could safely play, this was a huge plus! There was also street parking out the front which was great when we went over to visit. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this place. Thank you Debbie!

Debbie was a gracious host right from the very start. She kindly took our booking at very late notice and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. The cottage was immaculately clean and wonderfully cosy. Debbie was even kind enough to leave us some grocery staples to get us started. The property is a comfortable walk away from the tram line which takes you directly to the city via the shopping district of Brunswick St. Property had central heating and the pictures on the website are a true reflection of how charming this property is. Debbie also kindly took us to purchase our MYKI cards and showed us to our local tram stop. She really was a gem.

The cottage was a delight to stay in! It was cosy, warm, spacious, and had a beautiful little garden. It was in a very good location close to shops and restaurants. Debbie was an attentive host and provided an excellent selection of breakfast items. I would definitely stay there again!

Thank you Debbie! You made us feel so welcome & we loved staying in your gorgeous cottage. It was cosy, quiet & spacious & within walking distance of cafes & restaurants. The space was so beautiful, a lovely historical cottage with luxury restorations & finished. There were so many living areas, a deluxe bathroom & a well equipped kitchen with delicious breakfast provided. We had a few questions regarding the heating due to some unexpected chilly March weather, which were handled promptly. Will definitely stay again when we next visit Melbourne!
