It accommodates up to four people & is for your exclusive use.
The Summer Kitchen and Sleeping Space are hand finished, natural, wooden and canvas structures, designed as light and airy spaces in order to be as close to nature as possible. They have been carefully crafted using Ash, Oak and Hazel from our woodland hillside.
Completed in 2014, the living space is furnished with French vintage finds, and provides 26m2 of cooking, dining and lounging open-fronted space. The kitchen area is equipped with cooker, fridge/freezer, an eclectic mix of pots and pans, and a table and chairs for. (We can provide a high chair should you need one).
The front of the Summer Kitchen has drop down canvas sides but can also be completely open, allowing you to be at one with the surroundings as much as possible.
There is also a comfortable lounging area for lolling about when it gets too hot to run around outside.
The Sleeping Space is based on a traditional Yurt & Gerr design. A circular panel of canvas can be opened in the center of roof allowing you to lie back in bed and watch the stars.
The sleeping space has a wooden floor decorated with antique tribal rugs, a comfortable double bed, a traditional French box bed/sofa (which can be used as a sleeping space for a child) and we can provide an extra camp bed or cot if needed.
Our Bathroom is a self contained space and has a large shower, a hand basin and a proper flushing toilet. It also features recycled 16th century terracotta floor tiles found in an ancient forge along the river Aveyron gorge.

A TYPICAL DAY:
Mornings here start with the sound of birdsong resounding around the valley as sunlight slips through the doorway and the ash leaves cast shadows on the canvas above your head.
Wander over to the summer kitchen and prepare fresh coffee with croissants (from our local boulanger) spread with our own homemade organic fruit jamfrom the Sunday market, and sit on the terrace to spend a while breakfasting as the day heats up.
After breakfast take a walk along the lane that leads you up onto the hill behind, with views in all directions and swallows swooping through the air.
You might take a short drive into St. Antonin Noble Val (setting for the films Charlotte Gray by Sebastian Faulks and The Hundred Foot Journey in 2014 staring Helen Mirren) A tiny medieval town where you can find everything you could need (restaurants, cafes, newsagent, bank, post office, bakeries, mini-super market, pizzas and cinema).
It boasts one of the oldest medieval town halls in France and is a labyrinth of ancient lanes and tall stone village houses in which you can easily loose yourself and explore. Creeping clematis and hollyhocks grow on corners and here and there you'll cross a stream or look up to see 16th century mullioned windows and carved stone faces jutting from the walls.
On Sunday mornings the town buzzes with people as its busy market fills the streets and lanes, stalls sell everything from hand made goats cheeses, marinated olives, fresh breads, and locally produced wines to organic vegetables, hand made toys and pottery.
Sit and read the paper at one of the many cafes and watch the world go by.
Later, take a picnic and follow the river down the valley to Cazals, where you can swim or lounge on the pebble beach next to the water, watching the canoeists float past and splash over the weir.
As the day closes, you might dine out at one of the restaurants in town or in the surrounding area, or go home and cook up a delicious feast in the summer kitchen with food bought from the market, then spend the evening outside on the terrace eating, talking and drinking wine as the cicadas sing and the stars come out.
Enjoy yourselves ~ its your holiday!
