Jordan, very sorry for the misinterpretation of the terms of the rental agreement. I wish this could have turned out differently for your group, and perhaps could have if arrangements were made, prior to check-in, for an over occupancy event with a food truck. I would have happily reached out to the neighbors and the city on your behalf to try for approval.
As stated in the rental agreement: "Day time occupancy: 20 (please obtain approval from rental agent prior to inviting additional guests not named in this agreement, onto the property).
You are correct about the infraction for noise, however, I negotiated that down to one fine, from the original three: 1) over occupancy infraction, 2) traffic infraction, and 3) noise complaint. We have hosted many groups in the past; this is the first infraction we have received from the city.
As explained on the night of the event, I really did want to ensure your enjoyment of the home within the guidelines of the rental agreement, and I did not want to dampen the mood of your wedding weekend. I am really sorry that you were unable to use the home for events in the manner you had intended. I suppose we simply weren't the right type of accommodations for your wedding weekend, as we offer lodging, and not event space for parties.
This all could have possibly been avoided had the terms of the agreement been followed, and prior approval obtained. I do really wish we could have worked together to have made all your wedding dreams come true!
Best of luck to you and your beautiful new wife! Congratulations again!
