Hey, I’m Geesi!
I come from the island of Saaremaa. Many a thing has been said about the islanders, not least that they desire to see “beyond the horizon”. That desire gives us a thirst to travel. This urge is certainly something I've felt myself – I have travelled and lived all over the world since my teens.
Paris has been my second home for more than 20 years, and presently I share my time between Saaremaa and Bali – yet another island that feels like home to me.
Home away from home – a concept I would like to offer to my guests coming from near and far.
There are reasons for this: for one, it is my own experience of travelling abroad, the countless hotel rooms and rentals throughout the years that have inspired me to create a feeling of “one’s own place”. Secondly, it is my love for hospitality: I have always loved having people over, organising dinner parties and get-togethers, sleep-overs for children, yoga lessons and even working sessions in my living room.
I dream of having a hotel on the Mediterranean coast later in life ;-)….
Interior design has become my profession; I spend my days being a “doctor of interiors” with a love of materials, textures and lighting.
As an islander, again, nature is and always has been my inspiration. I love walking at any season in the forests, fields and beaches. Cross-country skiing is another passion, as soon as there is snow on the ground.
Even when I am not physically present in Saaremaa, I am always available on call and have a great housekeeper who is there for your needs, she knows the best things to do and to go to: we have put together our own guidebook. Should you be a food-lover: we have great farmers at hand to get you organic food, should you be a spa lover: there is plenty next door, sport and nature walks are all at hand as well. Last but not least: culture. My place is next to the 12th century castle, which after a visit might inspire you to light a fire in the open fireplace in our living room, to read or listen to music, or just watch the flames dancing.
Every time I return to Saaremaa I find myself appreciating the beauty and quality of our home more than ever.
I would like you to experience it, be my guest!
