Oystercatcher is a charming, traditional two bedroom Norfolk fisherman’s cottage situated on the High Street just a short stroll from Blakeney Quay and all of the village amenities. Perfect for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life this property has been recently updated and now has all of the modern requirements required whilst retaining every bit of its coastal cottage charm.
Upon entering the cottage in to a long entrance hallway you will find the living room on your right with a lovely, comfy sofa, and arm chair perfect for snuggling up in front of the gorgeous wood burning stove. In the corner is a dining table that will comfortably seat four. Neutrally decorated and opened up to the kitchen, this room feels very light, airy and welcoming. From the living room, down a small step is the traditional, small but well-equipped kitchen which has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a fridge freezer. The kitchen is tastefully decorated and allows access back through to the entrance hall off which is the ground floor shower room and the door out to the wonderful enclosed courtyard garden which has a pretty table and chairs set, perfect for sitting and sipping a glass of wine on a warm sunny evening. Back inside and to the front of the house is the good sized double bedroom. Up the original, steep ‘Norfolk Winder’ cottage stairs from the sitting room is the large twin bedroom which looks out over the high street. This room has a good sized en-suite bathroom. There is a pull out bed that we can set up in the upstairs twin bedroom to sleep 3 guests. Extra charge applies.
Surrounding area Blakeney must be one of the most sought after coastal villages in North Norfolk. The whole coastal area, much of it owned by The National Trust, is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, attracting both sailing enthusiasts and ornithologists. The village retains a unique atmosphere with many of the old mariners’ and merchants’ houses remaining in its narrow streets with others tucked away in flint walled alleyways. The main street runs down to the Quay with its salt marsh and channels, with Blakeney Point beyond. There is a surprisingly wide selection of shops, public houses and hotels. A wider range of amenities can be found in the Georgian town of Holt, about 5 miles to the south.

Pimpernel Cottage is a beautifully restored Grade 2 listed brick and flint fisherman’s cottage in the heart of the small North Norfolk coastal village of Blakeney just yards from the quay.
Your comfort is our main aim, so we have filled the cottage with books and games that can be enjoyed in front of the wood burner in the winter or in the small communal courtyard, locally known as a loke, in the summer. The focal point of the living room is the real fire but the cottage has all 'mod cons' too with TV, DVD, ipod doc and DVD library. The compact kitchen is fully equipped with electric hob & oven, microware and Nespresso coffee machine. Up the original staircase (which is steep and therefore not suitable for toddlers or those with mobility issues) is the spacious master bedroom which has plenty of storage, reading chairs and comfortable double (4ft 6") bed. The modern bathroom is next to the bedroom, and has a shower over the bath. Outside is a shared courtyard garden and Pimpernel Cottage has its own corner, with table & chairs, which makes a delightful spot for a summer's lunch or relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of the day.
Pimpernel Cottage makes an ideal base to explore North Norfolk, Nelson’s county. It is adjacent to the Coastal path, and at any time of year you can simply open the front door and wander the 100 metres, passing the Kings Arms on the way, and take in the beauty of the marshes and the exhilarating sea air. We happily accommodate dogs and there are many fantastic walks locally with miles of beaches as well as the National Trust and English Heritage attractions abound in the area. Pensthorpe, for many years home to BBC’s Springwatch is a short drive away. The village of Blakeney was once a busy working port but is now used mainly for sailing and seal trips to Blakeney point - there are many boat trips to this three mile shingle spit, a magical place to visit for keen birdwatchers. The village has great selection of holiday amenities - great pubs, cafes, a delicatessen, fish shop, art gallery and small supermarket & post office catering for all your needs. All these attractions together with welcoming local pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area make Blakeney a superb location to relax and unwind.

Bramble Lodge offers self-catering, cosy holiday accommodation for two people and dogs in the heart of the North Norfolk coast. Relax and enjoy majestic landscapes, breathtaking walks and the pleasures of coastal life in Blakeney. Whether it’s bird watching, rambling or simply some time out by the sea, the Annex offers the perfect base to unwind and explore the joys of coast. Bramble Lodge has shared ample parking, a private patio and is only a short walk from Blakeney Quay, pubs and shops.
Comfortable accommodation for two and is well-equipped with all modern facilities and has distant views of the Marsh from the bedroom. The private patio is secure for dogs as it has a fence all round with a gated entrance.
Blakeney lies on the North Norfolk coast where the River Glaven meets the sea. Blakeney Point is a 4 mile long shingle-sand spit that is home to numerous migrating birds and a large seal colony. Sheltered by the Point and banked by salt marshes, ‘the Pit’ is the silted up estuary of the River Glaven where the current Blakeney Quay channel flows into. Prior to silting up, Blakeney used to be one of the busiest medieval ports in the country. Now it is a picturesque coastal village that offers numerous opportunities to view the local wildlife and stunning landscapes. Whether it’s walking, bird watching, sailing, a boat trip to the Point or simply enjoying local village shops, pubs and restaurants, Blakeney has something for everybody and is enjoyable all year round.

Lovely good sized period cottage right in the centre of Blakeney near quay. Sleeps six in two bedrooms Includes garage and games room/second lounge which has pool table. Lots of character ground floor showed room and toilet and first floor bathroom with roll top bath
Lots of character and a good sized property with garage and games room
Lovely traditional seaside village with a traditional quay with boats coming and going, lovely walks along the salt marshes and coast, mini beach, great paddling, mini canoe hire for children. Crab fishing off the quay. The best beach is Holkham beach, very sandy and lots of space, sand dunes etc. This is to the left along the coastal road. Wells has a good beach as well and the village is nice for looking around. Going right along the Coast road are shingle beaches. Sheringham and Cromer. There is a pier at Cromer. Best shops are in Holt. Lovely old market town. There is a small supermarket in Blakeney within walking distance. Go down to the quay and turn left. Also a small variety of interesting shops. Places to eat within easy walking distance are two pubs child friendly, the Kings Arms and The White Horse. The Moorings for slightly more expensive meal, but they also do lunch and coffee. Two hotels that do food The Blakeney Hotel and The Manor, a lovely little cafe at the Methodist Church in the High St. for lunch and coffee, good value and children’s toys. Stately Homes to visit, Holkham Hall, Blickling and Sandringham. For a real treat Morton Hall, run by TV chef Galton Blackiston. In the summer you will find a caravan on the quay selling lovely crab sandwiches and also an ice cream shop near the quay. The harbour rooms usually have local bands at weekends. The village hall has antique fairs and there are often sales of crafts near the quay. The seal trip is a must. You can buy tickets at the bottom of the road.

Morston is a pretty village on the north Norfolk coast with heaps to do. Surrounding Area - Wiveton Cafe and PYO fruit farm (famous for the Normal for Norfolk TV documentary) and Blakeney village for mud-sliding and crabbing are both within easy reach by foot or bike. The sandy beaches of Wells and Holkham 5-10 mins drive. Historic houses of Holkham Hall and deer park (10 mins), Houghton Hall (wonderful outdoor sculpture in the park and walled gardens 30 mins), Binham Priory (5 mins, take a picnic, the ruins are great for hide and seek, visit to the Raw Milk shop which sells coffee, local cheese and ice cream is recommended) are all nearby. There are many other National Trust properties and other attractions to visit too. Just 10 minutes away is the Warham Iron Age fort - a must for a picnic on a sunny day. There are also plenty of historic churches to visit - Binham Priory, Cley, Salthouse, Wiveton to name but a few. A paddle in Glandford ford and visit to the tiny Shell Museum, a hidden gem (check opening times as not open every day). Walking - best walks are on the beaches of Holkham, Wells, the Wells pinewoods (great for a sheltered walk on a cold windy day), the Norfolk coastal path and Peddars Way - all within easy reach. A walk from Morston to Stiffkey (1-1.5 hour) along the coastal path followed by a pub lunch is ideal. There are golf courses, farm shops and farmers markets...the list is endless. The market towns of Holt (10 mins) and Burnham Market (20mins) and the village of Cley (5 mins) are great for shopping, cafes, fish shops, a bookshop and delis. The Spar shop in Blakeney the next village is great for essential supplies and is open until 10pm most if not every day. This really is the perfect base for enjoying and exploring the beautiful north Norfolk Coast.

The accommodation downstairs offers comfort and style in a tasteful, relaxing, light and airy environment. This leads further into a conservatory and protected courtyard garden. There is a large private lawn in front with parking for two cars. Kiln Cottage is one of four homes built three years ago to a high spec including underfloor heating downstairs and central heating with radiators upstairs, but we retain all the character of a modern and efficient cottage. The property is in a secluded location with all the conveniences you would expect in a modern home. The fully fitted kitchen has all appliances and storage you need including oven, hob and extractor, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave and an island unit. And it is within striking distance of other beautiful coastal villages.
Blakeney is an historic fishing village, one of the jewels of North Norfolk’s unspoilt coast half-way between Cromer and King’s Lynn. It is a haven for ornithologists, artists, walkers and families whose children may want to try 'crab-catching' where they tempt the crabs to come out and play on the quay. Blakeney has a bustling harbour, rowing association and sailing club. The facilities in the house mean you can self-cater or eat out at any number of excellent venues in Blakeney or nearby with stunning seaviews on your doorstep. Blakeney Point is a three - mile spit of sand dunes and shingle with uninterrupted views of the landscape, seascape and 180 degrees of skyline. Walking the spit provides the opportunity to watch wildlife close up with its colonies of breeding Terns and England's largest colony of harbour and grey seals. The coastal path heading East or West heads through unspoilt salt marshes and hundreds of varieties of birds, many of which stop over on their migrations.

NEW: ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING Reef House offers a one-of-a-kind experience to stay in a newly refurbished, self contained studio annex. This warm and welcoming accommodation is in the beautiful village of Blakeney, ideally located for guests wishing to spend time on the picturesque North Norfolk coast. It is only a couple of minutes walk to the High Street and 5 minutes to the coastal path. Blakeney is served by the excellent Coastal Hopper bus service which runs along the coast.
Reef House annex is a large, studio space located in a quiet, tucked away area of Blakeney in our family house. It is important to start by saying that we have 3 boys (9, 11 &13) and 3 dogs so if you are after complete peace and quiet then this may not be the perfect choice of stay. We promise to stay out of your way unless you need something and to keep the noise to a minimum. We are almost entirely surrounded by beautiful trees but, with two sets of french doors, the annex accommodation is light and airy. There is a brand new modern kitchen, fully equipped with everything you might need during your stay. (If you need something that I have overlooked then you are very welcome to borrow from me!) The living space comprises a dining table and four chairs as well as a comfy sofa. There is a luxurious king-sized bed, complete with beautiful brand new bedding ensuring that, combined with all the sea air, you should get a wonderful night's sleep. There is also a lovely, velvet armchair in the sleeping area which is perfect for curling up with a good book. The bathroom is clean and modern and has a bath so you can enjoy a long soak and hours of walking along the coastal path. Please note that there is not a shower; however, there is a shower fitting on the bath taps for hair washing etc. The annex is well stocked with books, board games and DVDs and wifi for any rainy days. There is also a selection of material about local amenities and places of interest, as well as some OS maps and booklets on local walks. Although there is no private garden space with the annex, you are just a stone's throw from the quay where you can sit and watch the world go by. There is private, off road parking for one car for guests. PLEASE DM BEFORE BOOKING IF YOU WANT TO BRING A DOG.
Whether you want a quiet escape or an active break Blakeney has it all: scenic coastal walks, sailing, crabbing, a large village park with tennis courts and a good choice of places to eat and drink. There is a well stocked village shop as well as a delicatessen stocking local produce and a wonderful fishmongers selling fresh, local fish. There are a number of lovely galleries and shops in Blakeney, selling everything from clothes to bits and bobs for your house or presents to take home. Blakeney used to be a busy fishing village however now it is mainly used for private sailing and seal trips out to Blakeney point. There is something here for everyone here: we would highly recommend a glass of wine on the terrace at The Blakeney Hotel at sunset whilst the boys would suggest mud-sliding in the quay! Further afield, there is a whole host of beautiful places - far too many to list them all but here are a few of our favourites: -Blakeney church tower - great start to your visit (if you have a head for heights) to see 360 degree views -Wells-next-the-sea -lovely town and beautiful beach. The BEST fish and chips at French's opposite the quay -Holkham Hall - amazing house with lots of events, walled garden and huge parkland with deer -Cley - you can walk there from here (2 1/2 miles) Try the smokehouse for amazing local smoked fish -Cromer - old fashioned seaside town with a pier and lovely beach -Seal trips from Blakeney quay and Morston quay -Holt -almost entirely independent shops on the High Street

Fo’c'sle is a delightful detached timber clad retreat, located in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside just a short drive to the coast and one of North Norfolk's best restaurants, the Wiveton Bell, making it ideal for couples to both relax and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Fo’c’sle, (pronounced Folksall), is an old fashioned word for forward castle, the part of a ship with the sailors' living quarters. Set in the heart of the glaven valley, you don’t have to worry about the sea conditions to enjoy this peaceful hideaway!. Attractively furnished with many of the finishing touches coming from the local potttery/gallery “Made in Cley”, the open-plan ground floor offers a well-equipped compact kitchen, a bright kitchen/dining area with double doors opening into the private courtyard and a cosy sitting room with wood burning stove. On the first floor you are greeted with a large bedroom with picture window providing lovely views over the church and valley and a comfy king-size bed and en-suite shower room. The cottage is looked after by the owners who live next door, who can give great tips on what to do and where to go in the local area. Nestled between the coastal villages of Blakeney and Cley-next-the-Sea, Wiveton is an ideal location to enjoy the beauty of the glaven valley with its wildlife, birdlife and walking opportunities, whilst being located just one mile south of the coast road. There is an excellent bus service operating along the A149 coast road, the 'Coasthopper' which is great for walkers in that the bus route shadows the Norfolk coast path. This enables one way walks to be undertaken with relative ease and is a great way of visiting the coastal villages without the need to use your car. The Wiveton Downs is a registered "Dark Skies" site where it is possible to see the northern lights, or aurora borealis, and this area of the UK boasts some of the darkest skies in the country being that it is unaffected by light pollution and so making it ideal for star gazing. Additional Information Two well behaved dogs are welcome (small additional charge). Unfortunately this property is not suitable for infants or children. The bed has synthetic bedding. Logs are provided for the wood burning stove. Ground Floor: Sitting room Ample comfortable seating, wood burning stove, flat screen television with Freeview and a DVD player. 🌈 Recently featured in an article in Norfolk Magazine as one of Norfolk's top 8 Airbnb's with the following review; “If you’re fond of sand dunes and salty air you’ll love this old two-bedroomed fisherman’s cottage found just a short walk away from the shingle beach in Cley near Blakeney. The interior is whimsically decorated with lots of fun, local art on the walls. Guests talk of beautiful views across the marshland and the local deli as added perks". Also with high speed fibre optic WiFi!! ❤️
THE COTTAGE~ ⭐️Built in 1850, Mallard cottage is a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage with covered off-street parking in the heart of the village of Cley-next-the-Sea. Cley lies within the AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the North Norfolk Heritage Coast.🌈 🌷The master bedroom has a king sized bed, an ensuite shower room and loo and a really good view over the reed beds of Cley. The twin bedroom is a good size and a lovely room which looks over a very pretty part of the village (photographed, as is the view from the master bedroom).😍 🧚‍♂️The family bathroom is very nice and light and is also a good size, benefitting from a double ended claw foot bath. 🍎Downstairs is a fully kitted out open plan kitchen, dining and living area. There are characterful pictures and paintings all over the walls and some books and games to choose from. 🍭The house has been refurbished to a good standard and has high speed Fibre Optic WiFi and a full range of Sky channels including Sky Sports. It also benefits from double glazing and a very good, new boiler and heating system so you should be warm and cosy all year round. The cottage is the winner of a 4 star Best of Britain self-catering award. PARKING~ 🚘There is off street parking at the property which has it's own covered parking space clearly marked 'Mallard' (photographed for scale with the listing of the cottage). The turning into the arch way is very steep and the space is tight for larger vehicles so whilst Range Rover's have been known to park there (normal sized cars are fine) drivers of large vehicles who aren't comfortable 'manoeuvring' into the off street space can find plenty of parking near by. Old Post Office Lane gives pedestrian access to the Fairstead where there is free off street parking with no restrictions. There is also the Village Hall where there is a free and large off street car park with no restrictions.
Cley-next-the-Sea is one of the prettiest villages on the North Norfolk coast. It is on the River Glaven 4 mi (6 km) north-west of Holt (3 miles) and east of Blakeney (2 miles). It lies within the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the North Norfolk Heritage Coast between the villages of Wiveton and Salthouse. A few suggestions of things to do in and around Cley... The Wiveton Café is a must and is now open in winter as well having previously been solely open in spring and summer. It’s about a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive from the cottage. Do check out their website. Artemis Cafe in Cley is always a good place from which to start a walk. turn right and right out of the cottage, it's about a 20 second walk away. They serve delicious coffee, cake, sausage rolls and salmon bagels directly behind Mallard Cottage and the famous coastal walk along the wall starts from their garden. The George in Cley does really good food, has really friendly staff and is about a two minute walk from the cottage. Picnic Fayre in Cley, less than a minute's walk from Mallard, is a fantastic deli with masses of locally sourced treats and depending on the season they serve really good homemade ice cream from a little hatch in the wall. Blakeney is about an 8 minute drive away or a beautiful hour and a bit long walk along the river wall. I never feel as if I've really had my 'Cley time' until I've done that walk. You don't need to go all the way if you're not big walkers but the look of the landscape and sky change almost hourly and and we never get bored of it. Cley beach is accessible by car (2 mins) or on foot (8-10 mins) if you turn left out of the cottage and through the village, past the windmill and you'll see signs for where to follow the path to Cley beach (also photographed with the images of the cottage). The Blakeney Hotel is probably the most 'get dressed up' place locally, although I have to admit we've never been as we never bring anything approaching the right wardrobe with us... It does look lovely and it has a good reputation and apparently stunning views. The White Horse also has a good reputation and is popular, with good food. I actually prefer the Anchor at Morston next to Blakeney. Blakeney is lovely and definitely worth a visit but it can be seriously packed with day-trippers in high season so at the risk of sounding like a snob, it's better to be a bit outside it and Cley is a much nicer place to stay... Morston and Blakeney also offer Seal trips which are really fun to do depending on the season so it's worth looking on local websites. 'Beans' seal trips is one of the companies. The Cley Smokehouse directly opposite the cottage serves amazing sea food. People travel from miles around to stock up on their crab and their fish soup so we are very lucky (it's pictured in the view from the twin room in the pics of the cottage). There are galleries and a lovely pottery and book shop in Cley, plenty of shops and galleries in Blakeney and some of the best birdwatching in Britain at Cley Spy and in Salthouse which is the next village in the other direction from Wiveton and Blakeney (turn left for Salthouse, in the same direction as you walk for the beach). There's also a great pub in Salthouse called the Dunn Cow with fantastic views across the marshes from the large garden and good food. For Bird Watchers the cutting-edge, sustainable visitor centre at Norfolk Wildlife Trust's Cley Marshes Nature Reserve is a must. It has it's own café and some of the best bird watching in the country. The Coast hopper bus has bus stops in both directions from outside Picnic Fayre (about a one minute walk from the Cottage). It runs a good and regular service although personally I prefer to walk as much as possible and everything I have mentioned is walking distance, obviously depending on what you consider walking distance to be/if you have toddlers etc. The marshes around Cley are internationally important for their populations of rare breeding and visiting birds. Cley Marshes bird reserve has been in the care of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust since 1926, making it the oldest county Wildlife Trust reserve in Britain. Among resident breeding birds are Avocet, Bearded Tit, Bittern, Marsh Harrier and Spoonbill. Winter visitors include Brent Geese, Wigeon, Pintail and many species of wading birds. Cley, like neighbouring Salthouse is ideally situated at the apex of the North Norfolk coast as a staging ground for passage migrants, vagrants and rareties of all kinds. An eco-friendly visitor centre opened in 2007 containing a café, shop, viewing areas (including viewing from a camera on the reserve), exhibition area, interpretation and toilets. The view from the visitor centre across the Marsh to the sea is breathtaking. Cley Marshes is the home of the Bird Information Service, publishers of Birding World. The shingle bank holds large numbers of Yellow Horned Poppy. The Grade I listed medieval church of St Margaret's, Cley is the largest church in the Blakeney area dating from (phone number hidden) Cley was once one of the busiest ports in England, where grain, malt, fish, spices, coal, cloth, barley and oats were exported or imported. The many Flemish gables in the town are a reminder of trade with the Low Countries. Some of the buildings that once lined the quay remain, notably the 18th-century Cley Windmill which was used as a backdrop of the 1949 film Conspirator with Elizabeth Taylor. Cley Mill has often been depicted by local artists and was the subject of a painting by the 20th century English landscape artist, Rowland Hilder. In the late 19th century Cley became a holiday resort. The poet Rupert Brooke was staying in Cley when news came that Britain had entered what was to become the First World War. Brooke had dreamt about the war and woke to find it a reality. He did not speak to his hosts all day until his host said, "But Rupert, you won't have to fight?" to which Brooke replied, "We shall all have to fight". We hope you will go ahead and book! I’m sure you’ll love Cley as we do! Melissa (✿◠‿◠)

Three bedroomed period cottage close to quay in the lovely unspoilt village of Blakeney With a lounge diner with open fire, fully fitted kitchen and laundry room, a double, twin and treble bedroom, close to the Blakeney Point seals!
Blakeney is such a lovely unspoiled part of the British coast, with its timeless charm, beautiful scenery and lovely walks, it makes a holiday or short break a pleasure. The cottage is in the heart of Blakeney, not far from all the lovely places to eat and unusual shops.
We love the walks along the saltmarshes, Holkam, beach, ten minutes drive along the coast and the best beach in Norfolk. Cromer pier. Crabbing on the quay. Walking to see the seals at Blakeney Point, or taking a boat trip. Eating at the Mooring Bistro, in the same road. The observatory at nearby Salthouse. Cookies for an inexpensive seafood meal. The two steam engine lines and Thomas the tank engine for children. The sea museum and the shell museum. Nearby Holt with all the antique shops.

Lovely little cottage for two in Blakeney near quay. Perfectly situated in centre of traditional village and near to great restaurants. The cottage has kitchen, sitting room, double bedroom with ensuite. Also private outside area
Good position near to Blakeney Point seal sanctuary. Wonderful walks. Great pubs and restaurants
Blakeney is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt coastal villages in England. The jewel of the Norfolk coastline it is full of traditional cottages and right on the coast, the traditional quay and mini beach are at the end of the road. The best beach in Norfolk, Holkham, is a drive of approx ten minutes along the coast.
  • Schönes kleines Budget-Ferienhaus in perfekter Lage!
