Good location for family friendly activities such as the bike park 10mins drive away and puzzlewood / clearwell caves etc. Amazing food at the local pub The Miners. We especially liked its being out in the country but nevertheless not far away from Chepstow, the peace, the surrounding nature and the many different birds around the house. We are already looking forward to our next stay!

Bream is a small village in the Forest of Dean. It has two convenience stores, a Chinese takeaway, a Fish and Chip shop, a Pharmacy, a Post Office and a local pub. Plenty of lovely 'eating' pubs a short car ride away. Sheep wonder around the village and give it a lovely rural feel.
  • This is a great find, small but perfectly formed flat! You’ll have everything you need, comfy bed, soft towels, a nice space to relax in. The flat is very clean, and well equipped so if you want to cook, which we did on a couple of evenings, it’s easy. Suzette provides little extras to welcome you, my husband particularly enjoyed the coffee machine and I liked the hot chocolate! There is a helpful file on what’s available in the area, including great guides for cycling in the Forest. The outside lockable bike store is a real bonus. We visited in February and the flat was warm and comfortable. The stairs leading up to the flat are quite steep, which is something to be aware of, but this was not a problem for us. Suzette is a good communicator, we can thoroughly recommend staying here.

    Nicola2018-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent flat! Clean, close to the forest, and great hosts.

    Greg2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Light and surprisingly spacious feeling for a small flat. Recently redecorated and exceptionally clean. The bed, sofa and armchairs are extremely comfortable. Lovely thick Christy towels in the bathroom along with capsule coffee machine and hot chocolate sachets all make for considerate touches. Lightening fast communication from Suzette and easy check in and out made our visit effortless!

    Hannah2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice flat. Clean and tidy. Lovely powerful shower and quality towels. Good kitchen and longe area. If you're a light sleeper then road noise could potentially be an issue. Good communication with owner. Locked storage area for bicycles was useful.

  • The flat was ideally located for our visits to Puzzlewood, Dean Forest Railway, Clearwater mining cave, Raglan castle, and the local RSPB nature reserve, and at the end of the day it was always lovely to come back to our clean and cosy apartment. Thanks very much!

    Yiying2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, we enjoyed a nice walk around Tintern in the morning. The abbey is a must see! GPS did give us the wrong address so we ended up parking at a neighbour's house instead of the parking across the road.

    Amy2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect place to stay to enjoy the beauty of the area. A fantastic view of the river, literally five minutes from the Abbey. Our host, Susan, couldn’t have been more helpful from the alternative routes recommended, due to the local road closure, to the welcome little touches on arrival. The flat was delightful. Would highly recommend.

    Linda2018-03-24T00:00:00Z

  • A lovely little apartment in a great location. We booked this to attend our daughters wedding in Tintern and it was convenient for church and reception. The Wye valley is beautiful! The host was very helpful and accommodating to our needs, even leaves milk and essentials.

  • Fabulous flat, plenty of room for family of 4, everything you need - home from home, clean and tidy, great base for walking and visiting local towns. Beautiful views from flat buy also all way thru the valley. Pub next door good value and friendly. Shower could do with a little more power.

  • This was a fantastic place to stay while visiting Wales. The house was stocked with everything I needed, including a wonderful book shelf of interesting reading material. The bathroom was especially appreciated with it's wonderful, deep tub. The kitchen was fully stocked with equipment I needed for cooking meals. And the fresh eggs from their chickens were an especially appreciated touch! I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to the area.

    Shushannah2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • A superlative Airbnb. I have stayed here several times here now re work, a true home from home. Plus wonderfully helpful but non-intrusive hosts. Unreservedly recommended.

    Wyn2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay at Jenny's. She and her husband were great hosts. We were looking for a country getaway but don't have a car and they were kind enough to offer us a lift to and from Chepstow for a small fee. They are very knowledgeable about the local area and happy to help. The place is lovely - set in green fields near the Wye river with chickens in the garden and a very friendly dog and cats (none of the animals came in the annexe). The annexe is very comfortable and nicely decorated. It has all the kitchenware you need, a great selection of books, dab radio and the bedroom has a DVD player which was great for a rainy afternoon. There are lovely walks on the doorstep and the fantastic Boat pub on the river nearby. Would definitely stay again if we return to the area!

    Grace2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic stay here. Great base for a weekend away with the dog. Brecon Beacons, Wye Valley and Chepstow all relatively close in the car! Good local pubs. The fresh eggs from Jenny's chickens, milk and welsh cakes were a fantastic touch. Would definitely stay again!

    Hannah2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment was wonderful, clen and in a magnificent place! You should stay many days to appreciate the wonders of the area and the beauty of the places around. The hosts was very polite and helpful!

  • Spotless and spacious acommodation in the relaxing counrtyside. Walks and great scenery straight from the door. Nice pubs within walking distance. Jenny was a great host leaving us fresh eggs and delicious welsh cakes. ots of information and helpful advice. We walked from the house the first day we were staying, down to The Boat Inn and back along the River Wye. We enjoyed good food at The Inn ar Pennalt in the evening. Today we sadly had to leave as we had only booked a short break away so on our way back we walked up Skirrid which gave us amazing views. An excellent base for a lovely holiday.

  • Nuthatch Lodge was a lovely comfortable place to stay in a beautiful setting. Marion and Simon were friendly, helpful, and there if we needed them. There is a lot to see and do in the area but Nuthatch Lodge is also a great place to get away from it all.

  • Beautiful location. Very comfortable lodge with hot tub in the treetops. Marion and Simon were very hospitable. Highly recommended.

  • What a find! Lovely dog friendly chalet in the trees in a peaceful setting, amazing views and surroundings. The chalet was clean and comfortable, has everything you need and the hosts Marion and Simon were fantastic, even left me milk, fresh eggs and biscuits for my arrival. The patio section has a pizza oven , which I even had a go at! There is also a lovely raised area which has the hot tub with amazing views! Excellent location, all within 20 mins of my Discovery Pass Parking I purchased. Would highly recommend, thank you for a wonderful holiday.

    Andrea2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is compact and comfortable - but not lavish - accommodation high on a hill surrounded by trees and birds. It is VERY quiet which suited us well. Marion and Simon were great hosts who are committed to the ecology of the area.

  • Fab stay in this peaceful hide away- the wood burning fire, welcome of cake, eggs and milk were all lovely.... highly recommended!

  • I booked this as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and it was the perfect gift. It's exactly as it is on the advert. It's neat, tidy and has everything you need. Its peaceful, quiet and amongst beautiful surroundings. It's easy to get around to neighbouring places if you have a car or like to walk. There's lots of info in the chalet for things to do and places to go including places to eat/takeaways etc. Hot tub was amazing and definitely worth the extra. The bed is really comfortable and the chalet has everything you need. Marion and Simon were lovely hosts and we would definitely recommend and have already talked about returning. Really good value for money!!! We had a lovely time.

  • Staying at Nuthatch Woodland Chalet this past weekend was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and valued - from the warm and friendly greeting to the fresh eggs, milk, cookies, tea/coffee and oil provided to us, everything seemed so thoughtful. Marion and Simon provided a great selection of leaflets advising us on the best places to visit around the area, and Simon offered us a personal recommendation for a great pub lunch and a beautiful scenic walk. The area was stunning; we just wish we’d had longer to explore as we barely scratched the surface! Everything in the chalet was very clean and comfortable, and we wanted to take the log burner home with us! We can’t thank Marion and Simon enough for the thoughtful touches and the brilliant hosting - the work they have put into their accommodation is amazing, and we can only imagine how much time the upkeep takes out of their schedule so we truly appreciate it. We will definitely be looking to return in the future - maybe when the weather is a little better though as we nearly lost our footing and ended up face down in the mud several times on our walk! Thank you again Marion and Simon.

  • We had a lovely few days in this cottage. It's a beautiful building which has everything you need! It had lots of information about the local area and even some board games! The area was really stunning and everything you need within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this to any family or friends. I was quite sad to leave!

  • We had a lovely few days at the chapel as a group of 7 of us ranging from 7 to 80. The chapel has been refurbished beautifully and the beds were really comfy. The kids appreciated the toys and loved the chess table. John made us feel really welcome when we arrived and we had a lovely meal at the boat Inn across the bridge. A really calm and relaxing place to stay.

    Hannah2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The chapel cottage is beautiful and a perfect location for exploring the Wye Valley. I would highly recommend this, you have everything you need here and couldn't ask for a more pleasant place to stay, especially for such good value for money!

    Charlotte2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Chapel was a really nice place to stay; it was very clean and had all the amenities you could possibly need. We mentioned in our booking that we were going to do some walks, and John, very thoughtfully, left out some maps and leaflets for possible routes. The Chapel is based in a lovely little village with two pubs. We preferred The Boat Inn; it was very quaint and had a good selection of cider. I would definitely recommend The Chapel.

This deceptively spacious Annexe has a kitchen area with a fridge, cooker, hob, toaster, kettle, microwave and enough utensils to make meals. With a shower and loo, the Annexe has its own heating so is quite cosy and comfortable. An ideal location for short breaks whether you wish to be active or just enjoy the peace and quiet and spectacular views. The River Wye is just a 10 min walk away and the Forest of Dean a short distance beyond. We supply all bedding and towels so you can travel light.
The Annexe is at the end of a single track road (with passing places) and the accommodation is reached via external stairs Rocklands Annexe is at the top of the hill overlooking the Wye valley and so the downhill walk (or drive) to reach the river will inevitably mean an uphill return! Three good Inns serve excellent food on the West side of the river with either a direct short ferry or a pleasant riverside walk to the Biblins footbridge leading you to more Inns and good eating on the East side of Symonds Yat
Rocklands Annexe is in an ideal location overlooking the River Wye and the Forest of Dean. The area is famous for its diversity of walking, running and cycling trails or for the more adventurous - local climbing Canoeing on River Wye is a very popular pursuit - with many local companies providing Canoe Hire and tuition. Most will transport you to a safe launch point at the start of a part or full day's expedition which can be taken leisurely or at a pace to suit yourselves
  • Absolutely brilliant stay at the Annex, thank you so much. All the little touches (fruit, bread, milk, juice, yogurts etc) helped make our stay amazing. Martin and Judy were fabulous hosts and I have already recommended staying here to many family and friends already! Thanks again!

    Sami2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous place!! The views of the surrounding area are stunning and the annex was spotlessly clean. A little piece of paradise - just wish we could have stayed longer!

    Julia2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in Rocklands, the annexe is the perfect space for two people with fantastic views across the river. All the essentials were available including milk, bread, and butter, and lots of suggestions for walks and other activities. Ye Old Ferrie Inn nearby is right on the river, great for food and drinks, but a very steep walk back to the annexe. We really enjoyed our stay!

    Marc2018-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • A sincere friendly welcome from Martin and Judy, with fruit and breakfast cereals etc., plenty of local info in this lovely annexe. Great views of the landscape from the balcony; walks from the property down to the Wye and beyond, and lots of interesting places a short drive away. Beautiful quiet rural location. Recommended!

    Adrian2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a lovely stay at Martin and Judy’s annexe. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt most welcome and relaxed. The annexe itself was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The view from the balcony was exceptional. Great literature provided with ideas for walking and other tourist spots. A folder with leaflets was really helpful. The surrounding area was beautiful (and yes the climb back up whilst a little challenging was good fun!). Lovely hosts and a lovely place. Thank you :)

    Danielle2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • The property is set in a very quiet location and right in the middle of the beautiful countryside for walking and exploring. The hosts are very helpful and you'll find everything you need to make you comfortable on arrival. The view from the balcony is incredible and a must to watch the sun rise from. Five stars from us and we will be rebooking.

    Dean2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really incredible weekend in this absolutely beautiful annexe! Set in the hills with breathtaking views across the river Wye and surrounding countryside. Martin and Judy were perfect hosts, very welcoming and accommodating... even unexpectantly delivering a larger tv for us to watch the World Cup on! We couldn’t have asked for more. The trek down to the local pub and river is, as stated, a steep one and of course the walk back up is certainly a work out(!!) but if you are keen walkers like ourselves then this will only add to the experience and if not, there are longer, less steep walks that are all clearly mapped out by Martin and Judy upon arrival. We will most definitely be booking to stay here again and will be highly recommending to family and friends.

    Joanna2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a fabulous room! The view is so amazing to wake up to and the room itself beautifully equipped with everything we needed. A great location for exploring the area - we loved it!

Our place is close to countryside. The Wye Valley is a AONB where you can walk, cycle, canoe and explore the many tracks through woodland and farmland. You’ll love it because of the peace and tranquility. A private romantic hideaway where you can cuddle up in front of a roaring woodburning stove to keep away the winter blues. We are within easy reach of Monmouth with it's bijou quirky shops and eateries. The nearest pub is the Mill Race a 40minute walk but not in the dark. Takeaways deliver.
Pat and Richard would like to welcome you to their newly refurbished cider barn. It has one double bed, kitchenette, wet room and lounge with TV. Also we have a woodburning stove as well as radiators. There is a small patio and access to part of the garden. There is ample off road parking, secure bicycle storage. Eggs available from our own hens. Although we own a pet ourselves we have decided not to accept pets as guests. No smoking please. Three nights minimum stay. We are within two miles of Ross-on-Wye. There is fine dining and several pubs within easy reach. There are opportunities for walking, fishing and canoeing in this Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We look forward to meeting you. We own and drive a 1939 MG and would particularly welcome MG drivers and will offer them cash back if they arrive in an MG. In fact being old car people we especially welcome anyone in an old car. Although the wireless WiFi is adequate for email, internet surfing and shopping etc it is not strong enough to stream films. The television does incorporate a DVD player and there is a small selection of DVDs in the Barn. There is also a number of popular boxed games, Scrabble etc.
Wenslow Barn is located in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
  • We stayed for 3 nights and had the best time. Wenslow Barn is an annexe attached to the main cottage but totally separate. It is incredibly clean and tidy and finished to a very high standard. It is small but the space is used really well and we did not feel like we needed more spare at any point. Pat and Richard were great hosts and did not intrude but were always welcoming and friendly when coming and going.

    Henry2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Pat and Richard were great hosts. The cottage itself was amazing. Was really cosy and clean. There was even some prosseco in the fridge upon arrival and some eggs for breakfast. The cottage is attached to the main house but is very private. We had a lovely stay thank you so much!

  • A beautiful place to stay it was a pleasure to be there. Pat and Richard made us so welcome. It was just what we wanted. We loved how the barn had been renovated and all the little touches like the skylight in the bedroom , the fire and the general ambience.

  • This is a comfortable and very cosy barn conversion, perfect for a quiet get-away for two adults. Everything has been thought of to make your stay perfect. Pat and Richard gave us a lovely welcome and were available when needed. The location is perfect, in a quiet country road, and yet barely fifteen minutes in the car to Ross-on-Wye with all the ameneties of a market town by the river.

  • Pat and Richard have converted a small barn adjoining their home into a stylish, very modern, holiday home. They have added everything you will need for a very comfortable base to explore the local countryside. There are two excellent restaurants within walking distance and more in the small town of Ross on Wye. We had a very snowy cold weekend outside but the log burner kept us toasty warm! A great place!

    Sarah2018-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a brilliant place to stay. Pat and Rich have thought of everything you're going to need and give some excellent little extras. Perfect for a quiet relaxing getaway.

Wye Green is at the centre of the attractive village of Redbrook, 2 miles from the market town of Monmouth. It is a spacious ground floor apartment offering 2 ensuite bedrooms with comfortable living and dining room, well equipped kitchen and a private front patio and barbeque facility. We can provide a Mothercare travel cot, suitable for children under 2 (no charge). Extra occupancy charge payable (over 4 persons), for use of folding single bed and/or camp bed.
The listing for our apartment which offers 2 ensuite bedrooms, kitchen, dining/living room and outside patio is for the sole use of the visitor. There are no shared areas with other guests.
  • We booked this property to be close to Monmouth and the Forest of Dean, and the location was perfect. The village is very quiet and picturesque with the Wye running alongside the road. There is a little post office shop that stocks the essentials and a couple of nice looking pubs. We were greeted by Glynis, who gave us a quick tour of the property before leaving us to get settled in. She had provided basic food and household items which were appreciated. The location was pretty peaceful with very little external noise, and the property itself was absolutely lovely. Everything was very clean and well looked after, and there was plenty there to keep us entertained, with numerous games, DVDs and books. There was also a decent amount of local tourism information should you be stuck for something to do. The two bedrooms were a good size with en suite bathrooms, and the main living room was very spacious. The kitchen had everything you could need, including an enormous gas stove which we loved. All in all we can't recommend this apartment and its owners enough, and we may be back again in the future.

    Jon2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Four of us spent Christmas at Glynis’s apartment, which was stylish, spacious, comfortable and really well equipped. Glynis had added some lovely touches such as Christmas lights and decorations, as well as leaving out milk for us so that we could have a cup of tea on arrival. She was also flexible regarding our arrival time, which was really appreciated. We have family living nearby, who we were able to spend time with over Christmas, and we would love to come back and stay at Glynis’s on another family visit.

  • Exactly what we needed for a place to stay with our 1 year old whilst attending a wedding at clearwell castle. Great value for money especially for new years eve. Things we didn't expect to find on our arrival like milk, cake (definite bonus), tea bags and coffee sachet which was great. A few cobwebs but nothing that would stop us from returning. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

  • Fran and Robert’s home is perfectly situated in Tintern - a quick walk the Abbey and to a few local pubs. The Loft has everything you’ll need for a relaxing stay. The place was spotless and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Fran was there to greet us when we arrived to help us settle in. Highly recommend staying here!

  • As place to stay.

    Bob2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • The loft is one beautifully decorated and stunning over 100 year old building. It is light, airy and quiet. Safe and in a fantastic location for a relaxing break or an adventurous one with plenty of fantastic locations nearby for kids and big kids alike. My son and I explored the Abbey and would go again. I cannot wait to return and go on one of the many walks on offer in the area.

  • So great we're staying two more nights. What a lovely place, can't fault it...

    Laura2018-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Frans house was clean and lovely, with everything that we needed for a week. communications were prompt and check in was easy. Highly recommended.

    Sarah2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fran's place was lovely and in such a magical location. The house was clean and welcoming, Fran showed us how to use everything and where everything was. She gave us a little hamper with hot cross buns and marmalade which was nice and had lots of toys for my toddler to play with which he loved! Fran herself is such a lovely lady, she's so welcoming and friendly we felt so comfortable with her! Thank you Fran, we hope to come back again! :)

This is a one bedroom apartment in converted sandstone barn. Situated in a quiet rural location it is perfect as a relaxing retreat or a base to explore the wonderful local attractions. There is one double bedroom with ensuite, open plan living space with fully-equipped kitchen and lounge area. Wi-fi is included.
Llangarron is a quiet village with few amenities and we are situated at the end of a short country road approximately 3/4 mile from the centre of the village. We can offer a peaceful and relaxing place to stay yet we are only a few minutes from some excellent road links. The neighbouring village of Llangrove has a friendly country pub that serves food and welcomes visitors. The accommodation retains the original roof timbers and beams. Whilst the ceilings are high there are 2 beams which give are only approx 5'8'' above the floor. Previous guests invariably viewed these as part of the character of a traditional barn conversion.
We are in a quiet rural location and guests frequently comment on the tranquillity despite being close to good road links. As a consequence we generally have a good range of song birds, quiet lanes and traffic free footpaths to ensure you can relax and enjoy your stay. The market towns of Ross on Wye and Monmouth are equidistant in opposite directions and are approximately 5 miles away. The Lower Wye Valley region is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for very good reason. The traditional holiday activities of walking, cycling, canoeing, fishing, golf etc are all available locally. Places to visit - The Royal Forest of Dean with its wealth of wonderful scenery and social history. You can visit some local locations used to film some recent movies such as - Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which used Puzzlewood near Coleford or Coppett Hill which featured in a Harry Potter film. - Symonds Yat with it’s magnificent river views and famous Peregrine falcons, it also looks spectacular viewed from a canoe. Canoe trips are easy to organise from Ross on Wye or Monmouth. - The Dean Heritage Centre......... is worth a visit - The cathedral cities of Hereford and Gloucester. Hereford Cathedral houses the world famous mappa mundi Gloucester Cathedral was used as part of the set for the Harry Potter films - The Malvern Hills. - The River Severn (with its famous tidal wave – ‘The Severn Bore’). -The Welsh Borders, including the 'Book' town of Hay-on-Wye and the Brecon Beacons. -Goodrich Castle, plus other historical sites.
  • Great little place tucked away off of the beaten track. Mark was a helpful and friendly host who made us feel welcome. My one yo would be not to just follow your sat nav, but to keep going for another couple of minutes along the track to find the place. Cheers for the hospitality!

    Chris2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • lovely compact bolt hole. Beautiful location with lots of interesting walks, but near enough to towns and villages to not be isolated. We really enjoyed it and wished we could have stayed longer.

  • Lovely little cottage, very clean and quiet and Ma4k is a lovely host

  • Lovely and peaceful location, beautiful and well presented accommodation. Mark was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our whole stay. We had a wonderful time! Would definitely visit again!

  • Great little cottage. The cottage is at the end of a long country lane, very secluded so great if you want a quiet peaceful time. It had everything you needed, well enough equipped kitchen for a short stay. The living space was great for 2 of you and provided a tv. The bedroom has enough storage for clothes, the shower is nice and warm. All around great for a short stay. Our host was there if we needed him, but was quite happy leaving us to it. We would definitely go again and would definitely recommend to anyone else.

    Danielle2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication before we arrived, fabulous first impression when we walked in. Kitchen well stocked and bed very comfortable. Lovely location! Great overall stay, thanks

  • A spontaneous last minute weekend break! Mark provided us with detailed information shortly after booking. We saw Mark about ten minutes after arrival although he had kindly arranged for us to be able to access the apartment beforehand. He was very welcoming and suggested some awesome places we might like to check out - Symmonds Yat and The Forest of Dean are just breath taking!! Also completed a scenic and beautiful walk around the village, a local spotted us trying to navigate with our phones (not great signal/typical city types) and lent us some O.S maps - although we did find one of these later at the apartment. The apartment was exactly as described and contained everything we might need. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring the national park and bang inbetween of towns Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth (approx 15 mins to each). The setting is peaceful and pretty, especially the nearby Brook. A great place for a long weekend of much needed respite, thank you Mark. Would have loved to stay longer.

    Kat2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we have stayed here, I had to change the booking in date and that was no problem to Mark. Also we left something behind and Mark was excellent, he found it and posted it back to us and again he didn’t cause an issue at all. He provides cookies and tea and we would absolutely go again

Grade 2 Georgian property on the 1st floor, overlooking the river and fields. Adjacent to Monmouth Priory and church with beautiful double aspect views. Walking distance to town, approximately 1 minute. Ideal for visits to Savoy and Blake Theatre, restaurants, museum, castle and vineyard.
This is a first floor flat/ apartment that has been tastefully decorated and furnished. From the photographs you can see there is a nice sitting room with lovely large Georgian windows looking across St Mary's Church and across the meadow. The sitting room and kitchen is separated by a very long breakfast bar which has two gas strut adjustable stools. It is probably one of the best position houses in Monmouth. The bedroom has an ensuite shower room and basin with lots of light in both. The bed is a zip and link king-size so is available as a large double or two singles. Please specify requirements when booking.
Monmouth is a very pleasant town not to big not too small there's something for everyone. People are usually very friendly in shops and restaurants. The pace of life is what you'd expect from a small market town.....easy-going!
  • Beautiful apartment, in a perfect central location. Phil was really easy to communicate with, and the whole stay was fantastic. Whenever we are back in Monmouth, we’ll stay here again. Thankyou again, Phil

  • A-Mazing stay at Leechpool. Literally everything we could have asked for was provided. Marian was such an accommodating host. We’d absolutely stay here again. Gorge apartment, lovely views for breakfast, super clean. Could not fault. What you have here is a gem. Wishing you all the best with your venture. See you again soon, love meg n vix xxx

    Megan2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Marian place was excellent. She was quick to reply when booking or asking a question. We were met on arrival and she was a great host. Marians house was next door but she was not intrusive at all, but was on hand if needed. The accommodation was so nice. Great location and beautiful view out onto the fields. Really lovely to have been given a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, bread etc. Something that often lacks in other places we have stayed. The place was warm and cosy and the whole place was done out in excellent décor and taste. Would stay again and recommend to others..

    Claire2018-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Marian's flat is very nicely located in the countryside just outside Lydney with views from the garden over the Severn to Gloucestershire. The flat is modern, spacious, comfortable and stylish. Marian goes the extra mile in terms of providing everything you might expect in the way of welcome items. In addition to a big selection of good quality toiletries, coffee, tea etc she provided milk, eggs, butter and bread, so you could make a meal if you needed to. Everything was immaculately clean and beautifully presented. It was a pleasure to meet this warm and welcoming host - highly recommended!

    Roger2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Every aspect was excellent with the exception of the price which I felt was at least £15 too high per night. This is of course only my opinion, and compared with neighboring airbnbs Leechpool is well priced for the good quality of facilities and Marian's exceptional 'can do' and superbly welcoming attitude, the lovely views, and the sense of security we felt by this being a properly gated property. without a doubt it was a joy to stay here and price is an issue that a true maverick needs to address by way of taking a stand against the average regional rate, and while Marian may not be that maverick she is most certainly a fantastic host, we wish you many trouble free guests to your lovely peaceful property, xx

    Ted2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect place if you are staying in the local area for business or pleasure. It feels just like home and is ideal to come back for some rest after a busy day. Perfectly clean, can easily use the kitchen for cooking, and comfortable sofas and bed.

    Tom2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here, the flat is immaculate and really beautifully done, the bed is comfy and the shower is amazing! Loads of lovely touches like toiletries, milk and bread provided, and the location was really pretty with lovely views. Our toddler loved the sheep and ponies in the field! Marian was very thoughtful and accommodating, we’d love to stay here again!

The Coach House is a beautiful cosy cottage by the river in Tintern. The house is situated a few minutes stroll from Tintern Abbey and within walking distance of numerous pubs, eateries and a craft centre. The house is suitable for small groups and families and pets are welcome. There are two double bedrooms, one with an additional single bed and a bathroom including shower upstairs. Downstairs there is an open plan living and dining area with a wood burner and a lovely kitchen.
  • Absolutely loved The Coach House! Clean, stylish and a perfect location. Will definitely be back soon!

    Anne2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Rick's house is well equipped and comfortable and suited us very well. The location in Tintern is good with all the local pubs being dog-friendly and selling good food. Rick gave us lots of information although we did find the notices in the various places and detailed instructions on what to clean on departure a little over the top

    Maggie2018-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint and beautiful, it was lovely and the surroundings did not disappoint. The house had a very warm feel to it. We absolutely loved our stay, the only note for awareness is the toilet had a hard time flushing on multiple occasions , unrelated to use.

    Mladen2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • House comfortably furnished and well equipped and as seen in photos. Spacious bathroom and kitchen (kitchen not shown in pics). The staircase is awkward - you soon learn to take care! The accommodation benefits from being above the road - passing traffic is out of view. There is a building opposite but also an excellent view of the river, which rises and falls with the tide. Aside from well known attractions in the area, in the immediate vicinity there is a large secondhand/antiquarian book shop, and a winery, and a mile or two up the road at Brockweir an excellent community shop with lots of organic stock and fresh meat (and a cafe). Rick was helpful with directions and info on shops and pubs, and the booking went smoothly. As well as the Tintern pubs it is worth seeking out the Fountain Inn Trellech Grange, for good food.

    Bridget2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Coach House was so stunning and spacious - the photographs don't do it justice! It is in a great location and Tintern itself is beautiful - we would definitely revisit!

    Charlotte2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • This would be one of the best UK self catering holiday rentals we have stayed in. The cottage was warm, sufficiently spacious for the 4 of us and in an excellent location for the village as well as exploring the beautiful Wye Valley. Rick couldn't have been any more helpful in the run up to our stay.

    Chris2016-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful site and setting in a glorious part of the world.

    George2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay in Tintern. Great location for lots of walks in the Wye Valley. The house is over the road from the river and was perfect for our needs - well equipped and warm! Would recommend the Wye Valley Hotel just up the road for somewhere to eat/drink.

First Floor flat in Edwardian grand house. Newly decorated and furnished with full amenities. Close to Chepstow Racecourse, the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the mediaeval town of Chepstow and the Celtic Manor Golf Course.
This flat is very small and bijou! The lounge and kitchen are on the right as you enter, while the bedroom (snug) and bathroom are along a narrow corridor and down a few steps. It really gives a feeling of going off to bed! Please ensure that you book for 3 guests if you require the 2nd set of bedding to be provided. The assumption is generally that 2 adults are a couple, but if this is not the case, I need to be notified.
Chepstow is a lovely little mediaeval market town with an arch leading from Moor Street to the High Street which was built in 1067 in order to enclose the town and enable tolls to be collected. There are lovely cobbled streets such as Hocker Hill Street (leading to The Five Alls Pub), and also St Mary Street with an excellent Chinese Restaurant plus other places to eat. If you continue down from the High Street onto Bridge Street, you will come to Chepstow Castle and the River Wye. The Regent of England, William Marshall, lived in the Castle at one time, and it was of great significance in defending the surrounding area. There is a Racecourse at which the Welsh Grand National is held on Boxing Day, and it is about a 10 minute walk from the flat. The area has magnificent walks, including Offa's Dyke and the Wye Valley Walk, and Tintern Abbey is about 5 miles up the road.
  • Great apartment just a short walk from the centre of town. Everything you need for stay in Chepstow

    Wayne2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment and great host, placed in a lovely village with a lot of amenities within a 5 min walk.

    Daniel2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved the flat. Very neat!! The location was in a hill near a river so naturally it was a bit cold but Rachel had lots of heaters in each rooms to keep us warm and cosy! It is close to town and tescos. Fulfilled all our needs. Would stay here again!!

    Mukumhang2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The flat's very clean and comfortable. Located in a quiet building a short walk from the town centre, it's especially convenient for visiting the racecourse and the castle. Rachel was a great host and answered all our queries promptly.

    Divya2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel was very accommodating and the welcome goodies and Xmas decorations were most appreciated!! Perfect location for our needs! All in all a great place to stay!! Thx Rachel!!

    Marie2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel’s flat is lovely, cosy and convenient to shopping and public transport. Yet it is extremely quiet for writing and for getting a good night’s sleep. Rachel is an excellent host, helpful and very responsive. The flat has all the amenities and thoughtful touches like a bowl of fruit and milk in the fridge, tea and coffee on hand. I’m going back there for my last few days in Wales, and look forward to staying there again.

  • Great place. Thank you.

    Joseph2018-08-18T00:00:00Z

Our small but perfectly formed studio is located next to Chepstow Castle with one of its first guests being Oliver Cromwell! Great for couples and solo adventurers. Walking distance of great restaurants, independent shops, live music, outdoor theatre, friendly local pubs and Chepstow racecourse. You’ll love our place because of the neighbourhood and ambiance situated as it is on the beautiful River Wye. Perfect for walkers of both the Offa's Dyke path and the Welsh coastal path. Pets welcome.
A small but perfectly formed one up two down room that is attached to the main ground floor flat via a small courtyard. The room is provided with a small dining table, a sink area with tea and coffee making facilities a radio, TV and WiFi. Off the main room is the ensuite wet room and toilet. Please note that a set of steep steps lead up to the double bed on the mezzanine level with limited head room.
Chepstow, which means marketplace in Old English, offers relaxed, niche shopping in arty surroundings, restaurants, pubs and the famous Chepstow race course, home of the Welsh Grand National. As well as the Norman castle the streets are lined with handsome Georgian and Victorian buildings, leading down from the town centre past our house (opposite the castle!) and the riverside beyond. Situated in the beautiful Wye valley Chepstow is a great base to visit Monmouthshire or just stay local and enjoy our beautiful town and riverbank.
  • Highly, HIGHLY recommended. Ok it's not a place where you would spend four hours in your accommodation to watch satellite TV; but why would you?? It is cosy, welcoming; and situated in a place which enables exploration of Chepstow. Oh and if you're offered the full Welsh breakfast; take it!!!

  • Lovely little cottage, great location. Perfect for 1 or 2 nights. Please take note of description, stairs are very steep and limited headroom upstairs so not suitable for everyone. But we loved it, would defo stay again.

  • This was a very special place to stay, How often does one get to stay in a home from 1648 across the street from a magnificent castle? The small apartment where I stayed was clean and so very charming and cosy. It is a short walk into the town center and there is a lovely local pub across the street. Samantha and her Mom were wonderful hosts. I highly recommend this airbnb.

  • Gorgeous hideaway in beautiful Chepstow. The design and decor have been lovingly thought out, and it feels so full of character. It's perfectly located to explore the beautiful castle and riverside nearby - we loved sharing an evening picnic in the setting sun by the river and beautiful bridge linking Wales and England just a stones throw from the apartment, and a morning walk from the stunning castle into the woods looking down onto the river. Lots of lovely eateries and pubs nearby. Super comfy bed...highly recommend!

Thank you Amy for a beautiful place to relax and unwind!

  • I have booked the stay for 1 day for 5 people. Rooms were too small and not proper ventilation was there. I have already made the payment and the day before our stay, Owner called me and asked me about, how much I have paid on AirBnb. He asked me that you have to pay extra 120 pound after coming back, though I made Pre paymen. Issue was resolved after talking to AirBnb. But I will never suggest staying at this property.

The apartment has its own front door and is located on Chapel lane which backs onto woodland. Tintern Abbey is a short walk away. The apartment, which is light and airy, consists of 1 double bedroom, a lounge/kitchen area and a bathroom. The sofa converts into a double bed. It has been recently refurbished with a mix of antique furniture and modern appliances. The kitchen has a hob, fridge, kettle and combi microwave. It is a quiet peaceful location. The apartment is attached to main house.

  • This little studio apartment was just as described and very close to the wonderful Tintern Abbey...a must see. We absolutely loved the surrounding areas of natural beauty and visiting the local villages. Everyone is very friendly and local eating was very good too.

  • We had a very pleasant stay, it was really cold out but warm and cosy Indoors. Well equipped and comfortable.

  • Perfect for a one or two night stay. Spotlessly clean. Beautiful setting. Very tastefully furnished. We enjoyed our one night stay en route to collect our turkey and visit family.

  • Debbie’s cute, cozy place is the IDEAL base to explore all Tinturn has to offer! The abbey, The Anchor and Royal George (both dog-friendly) pubs, are literally right down a tiny street. My husband, dogs, and I came to walk the Devil’s Pulpit walk, and it was great to leave the car at the place, as the trailhead was just across a nearby bridge. I’d highly recommend the abbey, that walk, and of course, Debbie’s place to anyone who finds themselves near Monmouthshire. Debbie is super kind, responsive, and her hospitality is outstanding. Thanks again, Debbie!

  • Great value cottage. So good to get in and find such a clean and welcoming house. I would highly recommend Amy’s place and the location is central to so much yet beautifully rural.

  • This cottage was beautiful! Everything the description mentioned and really pretty and homely, especially with the lemon cake :) it was in a beautiful countryside setting and had lots of room and all the amenities we needed - perfect!

    Ada2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nice change of pace and plenty of space compared to prior accommodations in busy city centers. Easy drive into Cardiff for sight seeing. A full size Tesco is close by. Kitchen is very well equipped and clothes washer came in handy. Wish I could have spent more time there exploring the area. Our unit (#2 I think) had a DVD player which allowed us to watch a couple of Doctor Who episodes before visiting the Doctor Who experience in Cardiff.

    Michael2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We did not get to meet Amy, but it was easy to find the cottage thanks to her explanation. The cottage itself is big, and has enough facilities for a day or two.

My place is just off the Wye Valley walk at Upper Wyndcliff, a cosy and comfortable self-contained flat within a family house and garden with fabulous views. Close to Tintern Abbey and Chepstow.
A spacious bedroom, new kitchen and bathroom. Sitting room with Freeview TV. Recently redecorated to a high standard.
Situated on a high bluff in an AONB, the house offers views over the Severn, the coastal plain and the Bristol Channel and is only 500 metres from part of the Wye Valley Walk.
  • You need to see Sarah's place to believe it. Simply breath-taking. Incredible hospitality and cleanliness, a wonderfully comfy bed and spectacular views. Very cute pugs too! I would highly recommend staying here and we hope to return soon.

    Natalie2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is an exceptionally good AirBnB property. Everything about it is an absolute delight. A stunning period house in beautiful gardens and countryside. So peaceful and private. All fixtures and fittings extremely high quality. A huge comfortable bed. Sarah had also left a delicious array of breakfast products for us so we didn’t even need to go shopping. Two nights was really not enough and we’d love to return.

  • Whether in Wales for business or pleasure, you will never forget the experience of Wyndcliffe Court. We come from the other side of Planet Earth and have stayed at many beautiful AirBnBs in lots of countries, but none as significant and memorable as Wyndcliffe Court at St Arvans, Chepstow, Wales. Thank you Sarah ... we will return.

  • Great place for exploring chepstow and local area lovely flat for our family thanks

    David2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quaint, rural yet close to town location. Everything we needed was close by and/or there! The converted barns made adorable living facilities. They were as marketed, and a very good value. Amy was very responsive (we made a last minute reservation), and provided a warm welcome (nothing like some tea and cake to keep our teenage children happy). We communicated a few issues Amy would have been unaware of (e.g. the sofa bed was broken) and she was quick to respond; handling it as we would hope. We'd stay again!

A private, self catering studio appartment, with easy access to Monmouth town, beautiful Wye Valley surroundings, and an opportunity to use a genuine Scandinavian wood-burning Sauna, in the large, secluded garden, which is an additional cost, notably £15 for a 2 hour session. Off road dedicated parking, and a separate private entrance. Monmouth High Street is 5 minutes walk.
A private studio apartment, with excellent catering facilities - you have your own kitchen, ensuite bathroom, with a separate entrance - so extremely easy to come and go - lots of privacy! You have your own garden patio and sunny outlook. Equally you can use our garden if you wish. The apartment is a new-build over the last few years, quiet and comfortable and private We also have a drive where you are welcome to park if you come by car. In a quiet street, 5 minutes walk from the high street of Monmouth, an ancient market town on the River Wye in Wales. There are numerous pubs, restaurants, shops and also a retro cinema! There is a great theatre which holds various events and makes for a great evening out. With 2000years of history, there are also several museums which you can visit nearby. With Monmouth being situated in the picturesque Wye Valley,Gateway to Wales we are surrounded by forests, rivers and mountains so a great place for country walks, canoeing and other outdoors activities. There is full wireless access in the Garden room and a TV.
Monmouth but historic market town, easily walkable in 5 minutes to Monnow High street, with many pubs and restaurants and shops. There is an excellent museum, and the Shire Hall, open to visitors with a wealth of history. The Savoy is the local cinema, quite unique, with films, live music and theatre.
  • Ich kann das Apartment von Mike sehr empfehlen. Das Zimmer ist groß, hell und gemütlich. Die kleine Terrasse hat mir besonders gut gefallen. Man läuft ca. 5-10 Minuten zur Stadtmitte.

  • The location of the flat is approx a 5 minute walk to Monmouth High Street and surrounding area. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds and in a quiet area. Mike and Lesley are a lovely couple who welcomed us into there home. The flat is spacious and everything you need is provided. I would highly recommend staying here.

  • Fantastic self contained space with a lovely garden view. It’s a very comfortable and private room! An easy short walk into the main part of town and Mike has great local knowledge that he was only too happy to share!

  • We really enjoyed staying at Mike and Lesleys' house! Both of them are very nice and helpful. Provided us with lot of useful local info. The room is spacious, clean and very cozy. Having a separate entrance is very nice so that we could come in and out as we liked. The house is in a quiet and convenient location, just 5 mins walk from the town center. Monmouth is a lovely little town for a basis to visit Brecon Beacons. Just wish the wireless internet worked in our room. Then it would have been a perfect stay!

  • It’s a very nice place to stay for a weekend

    Jaosn2018-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing studio flat just a short walk away from the town centre. It had everything we needed and a beautiful garden which we were welcome to use and made the most of. Michael made us feel at home and was also very accommodating for the check in and check out.

    Caroline2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Michaels garden is gorgeous, secluded and quiet. The location is great, house is a short walk into town. Monmouth town is interesting, with several individual shops and lots of good places to eat. Unfortunately the accommodation is tired and linen needs updating.

This spacious country apartment within a big Victorian house has stunning panoramic views of the Wye Valley. House Martins is named in honour of the regular visitors who nest under its eaves. This is a great base for any individual or couple who would like to explore the lovely surrounding country-side. It has close proximity to a Brockweir village and an award winning community shop/café. There is plenty to do and see for the active or for those that want to relax
