Italienisches Restaurant
“They have become a Houston favorite with good reason. The food is delicious and there is a huge back garden to dine in”

Café
“Located at Oxford and White Oak Dr. This place could also be listed under restaurants because the food is so good, but is primarily a bar. It has a low key vibe if the idea of a loud, busy bar isn’t what you are looking for.”

Café
“What better name for a Houston coffee shop than Boomtown? This eclectic little café on 19th Street in the Heights sports a gushing oil derrick on its signage—homage to the black stuff that helped build Houston and a fitting tie to the other black stuff served inside. Boomtown Coffee offers its own small-batch artisan roasts, sourcing quality beans from around the world and, if guests get hungry, they can find food trucks frequently parked out front. Looking for something closer? They also have a location in downtown, at 300 Main Street.”

Neue amerikanische Küche
“Known for its brunch, amazing drinks and cocktails, and otherwise great atmosphere.”

“Originating out of Austin, Torchy's has grown with several locations around Houston. This location offers a full bar (try a peg-leg). They offer a rotating Taco of the Month, a "secret menu", and a variety of everyday favorites (trashy trailer park and baja shrimp are my favorite).”

Meeresfrüchte-Restaurant
“Great brunch on weekends but pricey unless you arrive for their early specials Also a great dinner option”

“Heights hipsters flock to the shopping-center-set Antidote Coffee House for its caffeine-laden offerings and laid-back, at-home vibe. The loft-like interior-with its rubbed concrete floors, exposed brick walls and open vent-work-is filled with an array of eclectic furniture and artwork produced by local artisans. There's free wi-fi and plenty of plug-ins, but you know what they say about all work and no play-head there for happy hour Monday through Friday (4 to 7 p.m.) and enjoy $1 double espresso.”

“Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Lola is a great local spot to relax over a plate of comfort food. We recommend breakfast and dinner. If you want a chicken friend steak the size of your head this is the place. We also recommend the Day After Thanksgiving sandwich, it's amazing. ”

“In Houston, do-nuts means Shipleys. We have tried do-nuts all over the US, and nothing compares to a fresh warm Shipleys plain glazed do-nut. There are dozens of locations all over Texas, but the one on North Main is the closest.”

“We love our neighborhood bakery- freshly baked croissants, bread, scones, pastries, etc. They also have breakfast entrees, sandwiches, French toast, and quiche. No need to make coffee at home and you can sometimes see them making the croissants while you eat. Angela and Jerry are the very sweet owners, tell them we sent you.”
