“Small cinema complex with arthouse and mainstream movies. Keep an eye out of events and movie festivals. Great bar and snacks menu. *Hint: You don't have to go see a movie, stop past to pick up their home-made choctop icecreams. Cafe Grande is the best flavour.”

“It’s place to relax after work, or to wait for your table with some olives and nuts…but with a voyeuristic one-way glass window into the commercial bakery, it’s a fun way to pass the time. And with a good list of Australian spirits like Tasmanian whiskies, a nice plump list of local wines and a reserve list that goes a bit further afield, you won’t go thirsty either.”

“Cellar Door Market Grand Staircase, Nishi Building NewActon On Saturday afternoons 3-6pm there is the Cellar Door Market from 3-6pm. This is a small ‘market’ with a good range of local wine producers, farm groceries and other interesting stalls. A tasting glass is $12 and worth the investment – and it’s an easy walk home, or grab a movie next door at Palace Cinema. ”

Bar
“Formerly known as Black Market. High Jinks has taken it up a notch with even better cocktails and atmosphere. Friday night happy hour starts 5pm. Hidden cocktail bar underneath Morning Glory in NewActon. Saunter through the garden opposite the Nishi building, and head for the elevator or walk through Morning Glory and pop downstairs. Tuesday-Saturday 5pm-late”
