Vor Kurzem in North Shore, Pittsburgh gebucht

Centrally located in the historic MexicanWarStreets on the Northside of Pittsburgh, our 2bed/2bath apt is on the 1st floor of a condo building w/a secured front building entrance. Large front porch overlooks park! Easy Access to most of Pittsburgh!
This property was purchased and completely renovated and furnished in December, 2013. My wife and I use this property when we visit our home town of Pittsburgh (we live in the Bahamas). Otherwise, It's a dedicated rental property that is decorated and outfitted with temporary guests in mind. We like to think of it as our one unit hotel! The apartment features a fully equipped open concept kitchen with everything you need to cook a simple meal during your stay. There is a keurig coffee maker (k-cups not provided) in the kitchen so don't forget to bring your own k-cups! The living room features a brand new 55 inch flat screen TV with a TiVo Plus and Netflix account along with local channels. The sofa bed opens up into an additional queen sized bed to accommodate up to 6 people (additional fees apply). Both bathrooms have been recently renovated with brand new vanities, lighting, tiling, and a new open concept master shower. The main bedroom features a queen sized bed (linens included), night tables, and an en-suite bathroom. **Please note, there is a closet in this bedroom that is kept locked to hold some of our personal belongings. There is a full sized armoire in the room with plenty of hangers and shelves available for your use. The second bedroom features a full sized bed (linens included), night tables, and a large closet, entirely available for guest usage. Both beds feature very comfortable Simmons Beautysleep luxury firm mattresses! Both bedrooms also have ceiling fans for even more comfortable sleeping conditions :) The apartment also features central a/c, in-unit laundry facilities, and a front patio with great views of beautiful Allegheny Commons North Park. The unit is perfect for up to four people for extended stays, and up to six people for shorter stays. If you are new to airbnb, please send me a message before making a reservation request. We like to get to know un-reviewed guests so we can make sure that our apartment is a good fit for you.
One of the best highlights of our apartment is it's great location! We are within a 20 minute walk to all of the following places (and much more): *Heinz Field - 20 minutes *PNC Park - 20 minutes *The Rivers Casino - 20 minutes *Allegheny General Hospital - 10 minutes *Downtown Pittsburgh - 20 minutes *The Warhol Museum - 15 minutes *The Mattress Factor Museum - 7 minutes *The National Aviary - 4 minutes In addition to all of the great options, our apartment is a short drive or an easy cab ride to all of the other great neighborhoods that Pittsburgh has to offer. If you have your own car, there is ample street parking nearby in our neighborhood. We've never had a problem finding parking right out front.

  • Great Pittsburgh themed condo (Stylish, not cheesey) Spacious and great layout Quiet, despite location on main route and convenient to everything we wanted to do in town. Highly recommend!

    Hannah2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Julie's apartment is very nice, clean, and well situated for exploring Pittsburgh. Their instructions were also very clear, and it was a great experience. We would definitely stay in their apartment again, and would recommend it highly.

  • Nice place, nice location on the north side. Walkable to the stadium and a quick uber ride to the south shore. The hosts were nice however we didn't have much interaction.

    Sean2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very, very helpful and patient hosts for first-time airbnb users. Pictures totally accurate, place clean as a pin, location perfect for activities we sought. Would stay there again any time as it is easily walkable to PNC, downtown, Warhol, aviary right across the street, Mattress Factory, bridges. Excellent choice for walkers but bus stop is directly in front of the apt. Some street noise at night but not bad at all. Kitchen with everything necessary but be aware the coffee maker is a Keurig and you will need the coffee inserts.

    Sherry2014-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Julie's place is as advertised -- absolutely wonderful. They are very responsive to all inquiries, and the neighbors are very friendly as well. The location is also perfect if attending a sporting event at one of the stadiums. Only a 10-15 min drive to Pitt campus. No cable, but plenty of options with fast internet and Apple TV. We were even able to watch the NBA finals live, via the ESPN channel! I would highly recommend staying here!

  • Our hosts made us feel very welcome! Even though they live in a different city, they were so easily accessible and welcoming with prompt, detailed responses to our questions about the area. I really appreciated that they stay so closely connected with their guests. They even go a little beyond expectation, offering great places to eat and places to see, helpful for a couple of travellers like we were, completely unfamiliar with Pittsburgh. We had a more enjoyable, more complete stay because of the comfort level they provided. The apartment is beautiful, perfectly clean, well-appointed, spacious and nicely-located. We happen to be in good shape and walk everywhere, so we not only walked to the core of the city and surrounding areas, but also the neighborhood where we were staying. Parts of the neighbourhood are a little run down, but not much. We felt completely comfortable and safe at all times, and the building and room are securely locked. To be honest, we only spent early mornings and late nights in the apartment, after spending the days sightseeing and seeing ball games! But it was sure nice to come back to such lovely accommodations after a fun but exhausting day.

    David2014-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were good/fast communicators. The apartment was clean and huge. Super comfy couch. The neighborhood is very pretty and quiet but close to a coffee shop and a couple of restaurants, as well as a ton of museums (Mattress Factory, Warhol, The Aviary). Thanks again!

Located in a historic district with local shops and restaurants as well as easy access to all stadiums and downtown, this apartment is much larger than it looks and can't be beat for the price. This is a relatively new listing.
A spacious apartment with beautiful morning light in the Mexican War Streets. The historic facade dates to the late 19th century as do the woodwork, doors, and fireplaces. A private apartment about 1000 square feet on the second floor. 50" Smart TV with access to most streaming services (Netflix is available, the others you will need your own sign in). WiFi internet. Central air and heat. Ceiling fans in bedroom and kitchen. Desk and shelves for work. Ample closet space. Plants, rugs, woodwork, and openness characterize the space. The kitchen is fully equipped. Complimentary coffee and snacks provided.
The Mexican War Streets is a historic, urban neighborhood. There is a large and beautiful park with a pond and the National Aviary at the end of the block. Walk through the park and around the Clark building: You're at Heinz Field, PNC Park, and have the concert venue, science center, casino, and more at your fingertips along the walking/bike path by the river. Walk a few blocks and you've got the bars and restaurants on Western Ave. Also, within two blocks of the apartment you have a coffee shop, rib joint, pharmacy, dollar stores, gas station, local bars, and an art museum. Walk through the park to the East and you've reached the bars, restaurants, and shops of East Ohio St./historic Deutschetown. I know the neighborhood well and am happy to help you navigate your stay.
  • Ryan's place was great. It was clean, he was communicative, and we had a nice time taking breaks from our busy weekend lazing around in the living room and watching movies during our down time. We liked the neighborhood a lot--enjoyed the vegetarian and vegan food options, the coffee, and lovely walks through the park. The apartment is very "Pittsburgh," in that the living room is through the bedroom. This makes the place a lot better for a couple or a small family than three adults hanging out. That being said, the couch was super comfortable. Getting in and out was easy, the wireless was good, lots of parking, and generally a lovely place to stay for a weekend. The kitchen seems solid, but not super well set up if you want to, say, have dinner parties or really cook anything big.

    Molly2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The listing pictures really understate the size of this place - it's huge, and very attractively furnished. Not only does it have the amenities one expects, Ryan added some nice touches like coffee/tea and snacks. The apartment is in a lovely row house in a historic neighborhood. We loved how close it was to local attractions (Mattress Factory Museum, Randyland, the National Aviary) but had some difficulty getting from the North Shore, where the apartment is, to the rest of Pittsburgh. If you are traveling with a car or don't mind taking "car share service"/taxis, then this will be no issue for you. In general we had a great trip and were very pleased with our experience!

    Elise2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • This charming apartment is tucked away in a quiet and cute residential neighborhood. I felt very safe here and Ryan was a great host. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to the North Shore area which was perfect, as I came to Pittsburgh for a concert. I would recommend Ryan's place for a comfortable stay.

    Lacey2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend this spot to everyone. Ryan responds quickly to emails and provides you with all information needed. Ryan provides an ample amount of toiletries and makes check-in and check out as simple as possible. The house was very cleanly and in the middle of everything you could possibly want to do. I spent $10, or less to travel by LYFT to: the Clemente Museum, Botanical Gardens and Carnegie Museums. As well, the location is within walking distance of: the Warhol Museum, National Aviary, Carnegie Science Center and the stadiums. Pittsburgh Station as well is only two miles away and if you are willing to take the walk you can check out the Duquesne Incline (which by the way is an epic view of the city).

    John2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location in the War Streets area within walking distance to all our favorite sites: Mattress Factory, Randy's Place, Warhol Museum, Pirates Stadium, Aviary, etc. Spacious second floor apartment with air conditioning (a godsend in 90 degree heat!). Photos very accurate. Not fancy at all, but comfortable and very clean - like staying at a friend's house. Parking was not a problem, neighborhood was safe, and Ryan was very responsive to all of our questions. We'd definitely say there again.

    Ellis2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a large flat in the mexican war district, cool older section north of downtown with unique older homes, his location is near the mattress factory, poem houses, and randyland, all cool spots to check out in pittsburgh, and right next to a few buslines to get you into downtown in a few minutes. There are a few sketch characters like in any city, but its overall a good neighborhood and well worth staying at.

    Nathan2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy apartment, very close to the city. I stayed for a nice getaway to see some music and hang out with friends. Very responsive host and very flexible!

Newly renovated in July 2016, this artfully-appointed and spacious two bedroom flat is located in one of Pittsburgh's most architecturally rich, historic, and ideally-located neighborhoods. Within walking distance of restaurants, coffee shops, Heinz Field, PNC Park, downtown, Stage AE, The Warhol Museum, Mattress Factory Museum, Allegheny General Hospital, Point State Park, The National Aviary, and more (all within a 5-10 min walk). Premium HD cable, WiFi, & Bluetooth speaker included.
Our spacious two-bedroom apartment is located in Allegheny West, on Pittsburgh's Northside. Officially the smallest neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Allegheny West is home to 19th century architecture characteristic of the gilded industrial era. Originally named Allegheny City, the neighborhood was considered the gold coast of the region, and stood among the wealthiest in the world before annexation by Pittsburgh in 1907. Built in the 1870s, our apartment is part of a historic row house district. Many of the original floor beams, as well as exposed brick, were preserved during the renovation. Ceilings were restored to their 12 foot height throughout the living room and kitchen, while lofted ceilings were constructed in the bedrooms. The neighborhood is home to a mix of eclectic businesses and historic sites, including a local bookstore, bars, an excellent Thai restaurant, Peppi's legendary cheese steaks ("home of the RoethlisBurger"), the Jones Mansion, and the birthplace of writer and poet Gertrude Stein on Beech Street. Nearby is Allegheny Commons, a beautiful and peaceful city park. We hope you enjoy the setting as much as we do!
Metered parking is available directly in front of our building. Free guest permit parking available on street behind the apartment (we provide a guest parking permit free of charge). Our parking permit works great for Steelers game day, Pirates games, and stadium events (including concerts). We are located within a short distance of Heinz Field, so close that the parking lot across the street is used for fans and charges $45-65 to park on game day, making the free parking parking pass that is included in this rental a huge perk! The permit must be returned after guest stay to receive full deposit.
  • Great spot and awesome apartment - we had everything we needed and more. Easy check-in and out. They even provided coffee which was much needed after all the travel. Even more beautiful in-person, the hosts really made sure everything was perfect. Thanks again guys!

    Steph2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not do the decor of the place any justice. The apartment really does feel like Paris! The artwork hanging on the kitchen wall reminded me of the tapestry in Napoleon's quarters. Kind of made me really miss Paris! And I felt like I was in a Restoration Hardware model home. The shower is amazing and huge and the beds are very comfortable. I usually hate sleeping in any bed but mine but I felt completely at home here. The snacks and beverages were very welcoming. It's down the street from the 3 rivers and right next to PNC Park and Heinz field and most importantly the Carnegie Science Center. It is amazing and you should visit regardless of whether you have kids or not. It was really cool to see a robot shoot a hoop and to see a train set modeled after old Pittsburgh. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Schenley Park and Phipps Conservatory =) All in all, this is an amazing place and we would definitely stay here again. Jeb & Alissa responded to our questions promptly. I messaged asking where the nearest grocery store was when we left the airport and they responded fast enough for us to get to the Giant Eagle close to the airport. I was a little confused about parking and called. Jeb answered and helped me out. Very amazing hosts!

    Sarah2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures. The apartment was very comfortable and perfectly located by a park, the children's museum, National Aviary, and plenty of restaurants. We were able to put our daughter to bed and then one of us would walk to a restaurant for take out. Everything is updated and in perfect condition.

    Adam2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is total perfection! Beautifully decorated. Every amenity one would need for a weekend stay. Adorable neighborhood. Just blocks from a park, restaurants, cafes, shops and Heinz stadium. Jeb & Alissa were friendly and responsive. Best Air BnB stay yet. Will be looking to stay again the next time we're in town.

    Roxanne2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was so amazing! Jeb and Alissa are more than wonderful hosts! I don't know where to start... the art was my favorite. My husband was obsessed with the oversized flag on the entrance wall. The light fixtures, the rail road ties, the shag bedroom carpet . There were little refreshments for us when we got there (including water and chocolates❤️!) The place is in a prime location, especially for a Steelers game. There were several grocery stores near by and the kitchen is fully equipped! We were able to make dinner or just walk to the pub down the street! They had everything we needed like iron/ironing board, several towels/washcloths, blankets, pillows, shampoo/conditioner, etc. At night the neighborhood was quiet so no worries about being woken up! When we woke up there was a bunch of stillers fans throwing a football in the park on game day! It put us right in the spirit for football! We had family stay downtown in a hotel so when they heard about our stay at this place, they were so jealous. We walked to the Steelers game on Sunday and realized I forgot the battery to my camera. We were able to walk back to the place and still make it back for the game. That's how close it is!!! I could go on and on but in short we really look forward to coming back! Thanks Jeb and Alissa!

  • Fantastic location for Heinz Field, Casino and bars/restaurants. We visited Pittsburgh for a Steelers game and couldn’t have picked a better location. It’s a 8-10 min walk to the stadium. The House was very clean and just as advertised. Large TV and nice living room. Rooms were spacious and bathroom was very nice. We had a great visit and will be back.

    Bryon2017-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • The loft apartment was gorgeous and the decorating was classic and clean yet very warm and inviting. We loved the small details and the vinyl (records). The owners left us a nice little care package of coffee and snacks as well as a bottle of wine in the fridge :). We liked the area, it was quiet, there is a nice park down across the street and we watched the stadium fireworks from the living room window. It is a quick Uber anywhere you want to go in the downtown area. I would absolutely stay here again when visiting Pittsburgh.

    Keri2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect for me, my wife, and our 25 year old daughter. We attended the Pitt / NC State football game and was able to walk to Heinz Field in 15 minutes. Especially nice after the game when traffic was at a standstill! The apartment was better than the pictures, and I found the parking easy. After reading other reviews I was prepared for difficulty parking, but Jeb left clear instructions and the parking pass on the counter. No Problems at all. The place was clean, new, and really upscale. The TV had way more channels than we do at home in Raleigh. Also, the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map arial does not accurately depict the upscale neighborhood. Very quiet and no sirens! We walked up Western at night and ate at the restaurants and felt safe. On Sunday, the park across the street had families and children playing. I strongly recommend the apartment for anyone visiting Pittsburgh. We will definitely be staying here again.

  • Doug is a great guy. He checked in during our stay to make sure everything was going well. Great house. Seemed like a veteran host!

  • Great place! Great location!

    Leah2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Let me start by saying if you are reading this review to decide between this place and another. Go ahead and book your stay with Doug now. This was probably the most effortlessly beautiful stay we have ever had travelling. Doug is phenomenal. He takes great care to think of everything you might need and was even waiting for us with a smile when we arrived to check in. He accommodated far past what Air BnB offers or allows and is excellent with communication. His home is large and just a complete gem in the Pittsburgh area. We hardly drove, the home was so convenient to everything. Historical and made of real brick the home itself is just beautiful to look at itself. We enjoyed the house so much we didn't care to look for too many activities seeing as we were planning to already attend the Steeler's VS Raven's game. We walked down the street for deep dish pizza and down to the park area by the water across from Heinz Field. Aside from the game, we were content talking and playing board games inside at the large table in the dining area. From the heated blankets, to towels, water and even space heaters we did not want to leave. We arrived to a charming Christmas tree, beautiful original hardwood floors and lots of pretty art and hanging within the home. The windows to the street are just gorgeous . I'm an avid cook, but seeing as we drove from Atlanta, I did not cook this visit, but should I have needed to, Doug has a grand kitchen with utensils and tools. The bathrooms are bright and inviting, Doug even leaves a heater in each for you to utilize. The Projector room was awesome, we brought a firestick to connect and enjoyed using the big pretty screen. My boyfriend a very country bumpkin and huge sports fan, was even blown away with the homes charm. he fell in love so much so he would like to come back to Pittsburgh and has already stated "We are only booking with Doug" HA :) There was not a time we could not contact Doug, he even offered to arrive and give us his parking spot . Doug, thank you for being such a sweet person. You are a true treasure and blessing! Your home was a great part of our trip and added memories of a beautiful visit to Pittsburgh we will not forget! Your thoughtfulness and generosity is very much appreciated and we look forward to booking again with you soon! <3

  • We highly recommend staying at Doug's home. It is a unique, well-located and clean space that had everything we needed. Doug was easy to communicate with about checking in, parking etc. We will definitely try to stay here on our next visit.

    Zack2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Doug was a great host! His place was beautiful! He responded quickly to the questions we had. Highly recommended! Thanks again Doug!

    Jessica2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Doug’s place was amazing! The location was great! We walked about 10-15 minutes to get to Heinz Field for the Steelers game. A few blocks up from the house has a few restaurants. We are at bier pub and it was very yummy and super convenient. (About a 2 min walk) The house itself is very nicely decorated and clean. Much larger than it looks in photos. Doug was very thoughtful and left us space heaters to use because it was so cold outside. The bed was very cozy and comfortable. We especially loved the heated blankets after being out in the cold all day at the Steelers game. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and will hopefully get a chance to stay here in the future.

Our space is walking or biking distance from the Strip District, Downtown, PNC Park, Heinz Field, some great local hangouts, and public transport. You’ll love our place because of the ambiance, comfy bed, and the Brooklyn-like neighborhood. It's perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and anyone looking to stay for an extended period of time!
Located in the heart of Deutschtown in the Northside of Pittsburgh. This historic four-story building was once was an elegant palace with marble mantels, clawfoot tubs, and decadent chandeliers, but over time, it fell into disrepair. A friend and I saw incredible potential in this old building, bought it, and painstakingly over the course of a year totally renovated the space, transforming it into a reinvigorated form of its former glory. In order to connect the building with its history and keep its character, wherever possible, we retained and restored the original architectural details, while simultaneously giving it an industrial-vintage look with modern and eclectic accents.
Deutschtown, part of Pittsburgh's Northside, is the Brooklyn of Pittsburgh. It's the most racially and economically diverse neighborhood in town, with an array of things to offer: live Jazz, the oldest bar in Pittsburgh, Banjo night, breweries, great restaurants, a huge city park, and more. On top of that, we're within walking/biking distance to the Strip District, Downtown, PNC Park, and Heinz Field.
  • This place was perfect for us! Billy had cranked up the heat so it was cozy upon arrival. There was parking on the same block (we ignored the permit parking only and it was fine). The apartment was cool and quiet despite being so close to downtown. We were a 5 minute drive from everything in Pittsburgh. Billy was amenable and responsive. I had a few questions and he got right back to me. I highly recommend this listing.

  • This apartment looks exactly like the photos. It is beautiful and cozy - perfect for a weekend away! Billy was and incredibly helpful and responsive host. The neighborhood is up-and-coming: we had some great meals and saw excellent live music just down the street. Plus it was easy to get to other parts of the city.

It is a gorgeous, newly refurbished space within walking distance from the Mattress Factory, the Warhol museum, and countless great bars and restaurants. Billy was very communicative beforehand, and he met us at the apartment the day of to personally check us in. I highly recommend booking with Billy if you're looking to explore Pittsburgh!

  • This place was perfect for our trip to Pittsburgh. Very close to Heinz field. The Allegheny Sandwich shoppe was delicious and right by the house. Skip and Cate were very prompt in answering any questions we had and provided everything we needed for a hassle free stay. There is quite a few stairs so probably not the best for someone with limited mobility. Otherwise it was perfect!

    Courtney2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little spot in a cozy cool row house. Nicely fixed up and a good base for exploring Pittsburgh. A beautiful historic neighborhood.

    Christina2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not do it justice! My fiancé and I were so impressed with the place - beautifully styled, spacious, comfortable, and clean! There is a lot of charm in the neighborhood. We had a great time - thanks Skip and Cate for hosting!

  • Don't hesitate... book this wonderful home for your stay in Pittsburgh. This is the most beautiful home and has the most amazing host Dennis! He gave us great recommendations for places to go. And made sure we had everything we needed. We wish we would have stayed longer! Next time we travel to Pittsburgh we will definitely stay at Dennis' beautiful home!

  • This was our first AirBnB experience and it was wonderful. Dennis was an exceptional host and his house is beautiful. Easy on street parking in a very nice neighborhood. Easy walking to Heinz field and great local dinning near by. If we are in Pittsburgh again this will be our go to place.

    Doyle2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my 4th stay at Dennis' place (3rd in Parkview Suite). Wonderful as always. We stay here so frequently because we love it.

    Ronna2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis was an absolute joy and such a great host! The house was not only beautiful, but he made everything so cozy. I will most definitely be staying here again in the future and will also refer all my friends and family to do so as well! Thanks Dennis!

    Angel2017-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Parkview Suite was absolutely gorgeous, clean, and exactly what was pictured. Dennis is a great host and provided us with everything that we needed. The only con would be that the room itself is located at the front of the house which made it noisy due to the main road. However, overall, definitely worth staying!

    Mia2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a beautiful home with a spacious room over looking the park. Also, the host is very kind and very helpful with the city. I was traveling alone, so it was nice to have someone point me in the right direction.

  • This loft is exactly how it was described. The owners provide such a fun atmosphere by the way they use the space. We were able to walk to breakfast and walk home from the Steelers game with ease.

The location was walking distance from a few great spots to eat and drink. And there is a huge park right down the road. The hot tub is clean & so are the comolimentay robes! Zero disappointments !

  • I really enjoyed staying at Jack's place it was in a great location in the north shore. It was easy to walk downtown and to the stadiums. It is easy to get to and Jack was thoughtful enough to show me around some places of Pittsburgh.

    Mark2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jack's listing is extremely comfortable, clean and warm, and sits in a very lush and pleasant part of Pittsburgh. Jack was extremely friendly and helpful during my brief stay, always willing for a good chat (particularly up on the roof deck!) but understanding of my privacy also. Would not hesitate to stay with Jack again. Highly recommend his place to all!

    Jarrod2014-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was a splendid host and I really enjoyed my stay in Pittsburgh. The host was very knowledgable about the history of his neighborhood and was helpful in helping me navigate my way around. On street parking was convenient with the permit Jack provided. We even tried the Thai restaurant down the street from the house and it was excellent. I would recommend Jack's place to anyone traveling to Pittsburgh for either business or pleasure! Hope to come again when I'm back in "the burgh"

    Gretchen2014-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was a perfect host. He made us feel very welcome right away with a tour of the house and gave us some great suggestions on what to do in the neighborhood. Our room had everything we needed and more. The house was amazing, especially the roof top deck. There was a lot of history to the area and it was great exploring it, especially with the bikes Jack provided us with. We would definitely love to come back for a visit!

    Kurt 2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I live in a 200 year-old house, and have an interest in older houses. I found Jack's house fascinating. Although it was cool outside, we spent a little time in Jack's "crows nest" on the roof of his house. Jack was a gracious host without being imposing. His knowledge of Pittsburgh is invaluable.

    Steve2014-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jack is an incredible host. He is so hospitable and so welcoming. I loved getting to know him over my stay. And, not to mention, his home is beautiful. It's located in a great part of town and is a wonderful historical building. I really enjoyed my stay; hopefully, I will be able to stay again next time I am visiting Pittsburgh!

    Ryn2015-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was a fantastic host. My party came into Pittsburgh for the marathon. We arrived later than anticipated and felt bad for keeping him up, but he was very understanding and greeted us in warm and welcoming fashion. The room was set up nicely and clean. He even had soup and a few drinks in the cooler for us. He provided a parking pass so we could conveniently park nearby. Although we didn't use the rooftop deck due to rain, it was a nice amenity! He was kind enough to check up on us throughout our stay to ensure that everything was okay. We enjoyed Jack's hospitality during our stay and would come back again next year.

Within walking distance of the Steelers and Pirates stadiums, this awesome apartment has been fully renovated to fit your needs during your visit, including a new pool table! The location is truly convenient. You can see the stadiums and walk to great cafes a couple blocks down (even a few blocks from a Starbucks!) The space is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families. Also situated down the street from Pittsburgh's oldest park, coffee shops and local restaurants. Stay and enjoy!
Hello and welcome to our 2 bedroom apartment! In our warehouse apartment, we have provided the essentials while you attend a ball game, visit family, attend events, or just come to get away! The entire space is newly renovated with all new furniture. The kitchen is fully stocked (with kitchen supplies, not food) and there is a desk if you just can't get away from work. Relax in the living room while watching TV on the 40'' HDTV. If you need a little competition, play your loved ones in a game of pool. Internet and cable provided. There is plenty of room and closet space for an extended stay.
The Warehouse Loft District of Allegheny West is truly unique! It is a short walk to the stadiums (a half a mile away), less than a mile walk or bike ride to downtown. It is close to PNC Park, Heinz Field, Andy Warhol Museum, the Three Rivers Casino, National Aviary, plenty top notch restaurants and much more! Very centrally located. It is down the street from one of Pittsburgh's largest parks which hosts many events including the farmer's market on Fridays in the summer/fall. Within walking distance of many local restaurants, pubs, shops, and cafes. Come and enjoy!
  • Beautiful, clean place. Great communication up front. Very pleasant stay.

    Dean2017-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was as described and as pictured. Lydia was very responsive. The area is sketchy at night, but overall I felt safe and had a nice stay.

    Lola2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent place to stay if you are visiting the North Shore of Pittsburgh. The place was spacious, clean, and in a wonderful location. Very easy to walk to PNC Park and Heinz Field, as well as the other establishments on the North Shore! I would highly recommend this residence. Shannon and Lydia were great to work with. Well done!

    kelly2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon and Lydia's place was beautiful and very spacious. The area was a little concerning and had us slightly nervous (mostly if our car was okay on the street or in the shady fenced lot). However, once inside you feel safe and secure. Another issue was the amount of stairs you needed to walk up to get to the apartment. I don't remember seeing this information in the apartment posting and that would have been helpful. I was traveling with my older mother-in-law who has leg troubles and those stairs were hard for her to climb. Overall, this apartment was a lovely stay. The beds were comfortable and everything we needed was supplied. Communication with the hosts was perfect. If we are ever back in the Pittsburgh area (without my mother-in-law), we would stay here again.

    Hannah2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Shannon's apartment in the Allegheny West area of Pittsburgh was fabulous! The location was perfect, as it was walkable to several attractions we visited (Heinz Field, Children's Museum, Andy Warhol Museum) and easily accessible to the T stop at Heinz Field. The newly renovated space was also a great place to relax and enjoy some down time with our two kiddos, who loved the pool table and the home-like feeling of the apartment. There are some great restaurants within a couple blocks of the apartment, including Nicky's Thai Kitchen (which the whole family loved). For those venturing farther afield, you can hop on the T and get downtown (and walk to the Strip District from downtown) for free. We'd also recommend taking in the amazing views from the Duquesne Incline and the beautiful Point State Park, both of which are also walkable from downtown. In short, we had a fabulous time in Pittsburgh and would recommend Shannon's apartment to anyone visiting the city.

    Ian2016-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon's place had everything we needed and more. The place was not only clean and spacious but it had plenty of entertainment (pool table, games, movies...). The neighborhood was not the safest but the house was secure so we felt safe. The location to downtown was perfect. Overall, we loved the place and would definitely stay here again.

    Marissa2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Home away from home! Easy walking distance to PNC and Heinz fields! I highly recommend this apartment!

    Eva2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • This AirBNB was VERY clean and new! We were very comfy and loved the space. The beds were great and the apartment was extremely clean. Only complaint is the rough area surrounding the apartment. We felt safe once inside but it was a little rough on the outside. Very very nice and clean place though! Thank you!

Second floor, front bedroom, west-facing on top floor of small rowhouse (on not-so-quaint alley). Share bathroom, kitchen, and living room with two other Airbnb guest rooms. Your long-time Airbnb host is in the house immediately adjacent. Great location for walking to downtown and northside destinations.

    Iris2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • A reasonable place to stay. Although I did not realize the room I was in did not have a door, Erica adjusted my room halfway through my stay by providing me a room with a door and lock. It made my stay through the week a little more safe on my end. Very busy neighborhood at night.

Easy access to downtown (bus or walk) and to all major highways. Walk to the grocery store, museums, library, PNC Park (Pirates baseball) or Heinz Field (Steelers football). Central heat and AC, wireless, and ready for your stay. Access to shared, fenced yard. Location -- 15 - 25 minute walk to downtown. Alternately, take a bus (routes 1, 1D, 8 all stop within two blocks of the house and go downtown in minutes). I have lived in my home (adjacent) since 2004. My neighborhood is East Allegheny and it is convenient to tons of Pittsburgh. Lots of guests come without a car and walk, bike and use public transit to get around. The neighborhood also has great highway access so it's a great spot if you have business around or outside of the city. This house is on a one-way, one-lane alley and is just half of a block off of a small business district street. This means you are two minute walk from the drug store, a couple ice cream spots, a few bars, a pastry shop, restaurants, and more. It also means you will hear folks leaving bars late at night, you will occasionally encounter people sitting on the stoop or a stoop nearby to take a break on a hot summer day, and you may notice buses at the very convenient bus stop. We're also close to a major hospital so you will hear LifeFlight helicopters and ambulances much more than you are used to. This is an older and economically-diverse neighborhood so on the main drag, there are tons of folks who know each other and will stand around talking or holler across the street to a friend. I have lived in the neighborhood for 11 years. However, I have found that not all potential Airbnb guests are comfortable with the environment (too urban, transitional, loud or unfamiliar). So, this listing might be a better fit for the more intrepid traveler.
  • Erica could not have been more accommodating or kind! The property was as described and was close to a lot of things. Did have a bar fight we happened to witness very close to home on the street by the house but it was late on a Saturday and we felt very safe once in the house.

    Amy2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • As an owner of a Bed and Breakfast myself, Erica has things down. Everything was as described and her directions were simple, yet detailed. The location is everything in terms of this apartment. Very pleased. Thanks, Erica!

Great location on the Allegheny River with access to walking path. Super convenient to highways that take you to all parts of Pittsburgh. Will definitely stay here again. My husband went to the Winter Classic at Heinz field and it was a quick walk for him. The apartment was clean and had all the amenties we required. this entire house has been recently renovated. There is central heat & air throughout. Our home features a brand new kitchen, all new appliances & fully renovated 1.5 bathrooms. We have two bedrooms upstairs both with brand new queen sized mattresses. All bedding, pillows & towels are included. The living room sofa pulls out to a full sized air coil mattress. this means Rather then forcing a skimpy uncomfortable mattress into a sofa, this Room & Board sleeper features a mattress that is designed especially for a sofa. The air-coil mattress inflates & deflates with each use in about a minute. When it is inflated (to your custom comfort level) there is no sacrifice in comfort due to having to accommodate any folding mechanism. We have private off street parking for 4+ cars in our newly graveled driveway behind the house.
One of the best highlights of our house is it's great location! We are within walking distance or a quick ride to all of the following places (and much more): *Heinz Field *PNC Park *Market Square *The Strip District *The Rivers Casino *Allegheny General Hospital *Downtown Pittsburgh *The Warhol Museum *The Mattress Factor Museum *The National Aviary *Children's Museum of Pittsburgh *Carnegie Science Center *The David L. Lawrence Convention Center In addition to all of the great options, we are just a short drive, Uber or cab ride to all of the other great neighborhoods that Pittsburgh has to offer. If you have your own car, we have private off street parking available behind the house for at least 4 cars.
  • Lovely home, looks just like the pictures. Very clean, very stylish. Private parking. Cool outdoor patio space. I definitely recommend this home and working with Matt and Julie was a breeze.

  • I loved the artistic interior decoration, especially the art work with chalk on the walls and the whole layout with theme. Very well thought out with creative ideas. I would come like to come back, next time I'm in Pittsburgh.

  • Awesome place! Great communication, definitely coming back!

    Frank2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Matt's place was exactly as pictured. We parked in the driveway in back of the house; made the trip that much easier. The apartment was immaculate. Beds were extremely comfortable. We went to a concert at Heinz Field, so the location was perfect; we walked along the river and through all of the tailgate parties. No need to drive at all. Had a fantastic meal at Subba which is around the corner. Thank you!

    Jodi2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Matt and Julie's place. The house is updated, clean and fun. Perfect for two couples. The location is convenient to the Warhol Museum and PNC Park, but it is a little bit of a walk. We loved the older buildings in Deutschtown and found a few favorite places along the way - Max's Allegheny for an old school German lunch and Casellula, where we took in Jazz Poetry Night. Thanks to our hosts!

    Troy2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our first time in Pittsburgh and it was marvelous. Matt and Julie's place is very centrally located and we walked everywhere ...... my sore feet prove it! The house itself is very comfortable and very well equipped. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Pittsburgh.

    Sheila2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This home is IMMACULATE, the kitchen was as well stocked as most homes you live in full time. We actually cooked in more than we ate out and had no issues preparing full meals. The beds are extremely comfortable, slightly firm, but very good. The neighborhood is very diverse but it is only minutes from downtown and since we were there for the 4th of July it was super convenient. Parking in the back requires you to go down a dark narrow alley but it allows for private parking rather than taking a chance on the street in the front. There is a full size washer and dryer and again I couldn't think of a single thing that we needed that wasn't provided. There is a grill on the patio that requires charcoal but there was lighter fluid. Also they have a Keurig that wasn't mentioned on the listing but we were happy to see it as we brought our own K cups. We would definitely come back and I will say the communication with the host was excellent. The ONLY drawback was the air conditioning, we prefer it chilly and we couldn't seem to get it cool enough upstairs no matter what we did, downstairs was fine, but there are ceiling fans in both bedrooms so that was helpful. Otherwise this is a perfect example of what an Air BNB should B!!!

    Kumi2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • My boys and I are still saying how much we miss this (URL HIDDEN) is so comfortable, modern, clean, fun and convenient. I can't recommend Highly enough all involved, great communication from the start and throughout the stay. We loved it here so much, thank you for opening your home to us!!!!!!! We hope to be back.

This apartment is located in the historic happening Deutschtown/Mexican War Streets neighborhood on Pittsburgh's North Side. Among the city’s oldest, the North Side neighborhoods were laid out in 1788, and many of the buildings date from the mid-19th century and include some truly beautiful examples of Victorian architecture. The area nestles among Pittsburgh cultural institutions like the Mattress Factory, the Manchester Craftsman’s Guild, the National Aviary, the Andy Warhol Museum, the Children’s Museum, and of course, all the attractions on the North Shore (Heinz Field, PNC Park, and the Carnegie Science Center). The ambiance and neighborliness of these unique areas attracts many people. The great green expanse of Allegheny Commons serves as a beautiful “front yard” for North Side residents. We live here and love it! If you're here on a Wednesday, don't miss the Elk's Lodge Banjo night!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

  • Rebecca was very helpful and prompt to answer all queries. The house is easy to find and the keypad makes access simple. It has been designed with great attention to detail, is well furnished and very clean and attractive. You can walk or bike to many major attractions including sports parks and museums and it is close to downtown and several laid-back local restaurants. We brought our bikes and enjoyed Pittsburgh's bike trails. What a nice city to visit! We had a most enjoyable two days.

    Wendy2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Rebecca and Zac's place was really great. We were only in Pittsburgh for a short time (one night), and the central location of the apartment made it so we could see a lot of interesting sites easily and quickly. Everything was easy, and Rebecca and Zac were great about being in touch and giving helpful travel suggestions throughout. Would definitely recommend! Thanks Rebecca and Zac!

  • I had a wonderful stay here. Rebecca and Zac were great hosts and I had no trouble getting the keys or parking passes. The apartment was immaculate, very comfortable, and in a very convenient neighborhood. Don't miss the Sunday brunch at Max's Allegheny Tavern on the corner!

    David2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about Rebecca and Zac's place was exactly as described. The house was clean and had all the amenities needed. They respected our privacy and we felt they were easily reached if necessary. They provided us with numerous attractions and amenities in Pittsburgh as well. It was a perfect location for going to a Steelers game and not far to walk downtown. I would recommend staying at Rebecca and Zac's without any hesitation.

Historic, residential Deutschtown, is a quick walk or ride to Downtown PIttsburgh & the Point. The Pirates' and Steelers' play 15-20 minute walk away! The Middle St. House is clean & quiet with all basic comforts of home, not a lot of fru-fru. Built in 1910, it's been a home since its renovation in 1995. It's private with a back terrace and 2nd fl deck under the cooling canopy of trees. Cheerfully decorated, 2 bedroom; up to 4 guests, but no more. Off street parking space available.
Don't miss Max's Allegheny Tavern for authentic German fare. They've been operating for we over 100 years and they are 2 short blocks away. For a quick bite, check out Bistro to Go on East Ohio Street. And we have a French pastry right around the corner if croissants and other delicacies will start your day perfectly.
  • A great place with lots of character. We felt right at home. Everything was provided and Jane is a great and easy going host. We'll be back.

    Rene2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place was clean, comfortable, and the perfect spot for my family with two little kids. She was very responsive and a great host!

    Jeff2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were in town for a Steelers game on the coldest weekend ever! The house was warm and cozy after a long day in the cold. The kitchen is fully equipped for making meals. Centrally located to the major athletic venues and easy to access grocery stores, restaurant and anything else you need. Jane met us upon arrival to explain everything and gave tips on how to get around and places to go. We enjoyed our time and are very thankful for Jane's hospitality.

    Kristen 2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place is at walking distance from downtown, Andy Warhol museum, and Heinz field She was really helpful and had some great local recommendations to follow

    Rachid2017-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Jane was very kind, from the beginning to the end. She made us comfortable, things worked and we felt like home. If you use Uber, take it at the streets next to the house, because there is some problem about the maps used by the drivers and they can't reach the address. On the other hand, there is a Giant Eagle nearby, super convenient.

    Cíntia2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's place is a hidden gem tucked away in Pittsburgh's Deutschtown. We found the location to be perfectly suited for our week-long exploration of the Burgh. Within the surrounding streets, we found a couple of delis, a pastry shop, tea place, and wine & spirits store, along with some very tasty food in the several nearby restaurants. There is also a large grocery store a few blocks away. The Andy Warhol Museum, Mattress Factory Museum, and National Aviary are all within walking distance, and getting to downtown, Squirrel Hill, South Side, and Mt. Washington were all an easy & inexpensive rideshare away. Though somewhat unassuming from the street, once inside, Jane's place felt very welcoming and comfortable. The ground floor has a sitting area, kitchen/dining area (which is stocked with almost any type of cookware, utensils, etc. that you may need during your stay...the spice collection alone was quite impressive), half-bath, and a door out to the courtyard area behind the house. The courtyard area is completely fenced in, and Jane has cultivated a beautiful collection of plants & flowers in the garden, along with some shade trees, that really make you feel miles away from the city. Upstairs are 2 large bedrooms, a full bathroom with bathtub, shower, and washer/dryer, and a balcony overlooking the aforementioned courtyard. Everything was neat & clean, but not "(URL HIDDEN) was a very warm & inviting space throughout. Our host, Jane, was exceptional. On the day we were to check in, I was unavoidably delayed, and my 2 traveling companions arrived at the house a few hours before I did. I informed Jane of my delay, and she could not have been more accommodating. By the time I got there, she had already given them a tour of the house, showed them how to operate the various home appliances, and recommended a place for dinner (Max's Allegheny Tavern - just a few blocks away & some pretty serious German food - so good!). Throughout our stay, she was easily & readily accessible if we needed anything, but not overbearing...sometimes we'd see her in the courtyard garden & have a chat, but for the most part she left us to our own devices. Again, an exceptional host.

    Jennifer2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • The four of us (me, my husband, our adult son & his girlfriend) had a wonderful time at Jane's place in Pittsburgh. It was our first time to the city and the place was a nice hub to all the things we ended up doing. The home is spacious and the kitchen is wonderfully equipped. Everything was clean and tidy, and it worked out perfectly for us. We were within walking distance to downtown, the Strip, the Heinz Museum and other things we did. We also walked to some quirkier things on the Northside (Randyland, Bicycle Heaven). The home is centrally located enough that a taxi/uber/lyft ride is easy and not too expensive. High recommended!

    Sally2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our host Jane made us feel very welcome. She is very accessible and made the arrival and departure very smooth. The entire process was very organized and straightforward. The house is lovely and a perfect place to stay when visiting Pittsburgh. We could not recommend this place enough.

  • Clean 1 bedroom apartment. Basic necessities. We had an issue with the air conditioning and we called the maintenance and they fixed it within an hour. I would recommend and even come back in the future. My only complaint is how the washing machine works. It is not good at cleaning clothes and created stains. I had to hand wash my clothes after doing a load of laundry.

    Nina2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • ️️️️️ We had a fantastic weekend in Pittsburgh! The location was extra convenient, we appreciated the on-site garage, the room was spacious, clean and filled with everything we needed to have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The internet was fast and quite usable, and check in and check out was a breeze. The pool was empty and drained, which was disappointing, but the hot tub was always accessible and super comfortable. Our only other complaint was that the pipes could be a little loud sometimes. Next time we're in Pittsburgh, we'd love to stay here again!

    Cory2016-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Overall experience and loft was awesome. Jackie was super helpful and prompt when answering questions. Heinz Lofts were conveniently located downtown and to everywhere we needed to go for our trip to see the Steelers play. Concerning the loft itself, it was very clean and comfortable. It would be difficult to find a hotel of the same caliber for the price. We'd definitely stay again!

  • This was a great space for my husband, brother-in-law, and me while we were in town visiting family. The location was fantastic, but what I remember most was the view-- we had a gorgeous view of the river, bridge, and city lights. We just wish it hadn't been too cold to use the balcony. Next time!

    Heather2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place! Very clean, great location, and felt like a hotel stay.

    Mony2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew's place is perfect! I loved the apartment, and the location was quite convenient. The one problem was the check in process -- I was sent a bunch of documents in advance, but apparently those documents did not contain the crucial information for actually entering the apartment. We arrived very late at night, so this was quite frustrating. Luckily, there was an emergency number to call, so it did get sorted out after 30-40 minutes of confusion. But otherwise, the apartment is ideal and the price is reasonable.

Lots to do , see, eat. Central location; walk to Downtown. A real Victorian 22 room house and roof deck with a City-feel! A second guest room with kitchenette in this house is available under the title "Pittsburgh's Fun North Shore"
My home is a townhouse near Allegheny Commons Park in National Register Historic District of Allegheny West; minutes to Downtown Pittsburgh by walking or driving, or to Allegheny General Hospital, Heinz Field, PNC Park, the River Heritage Trail for biking and walking. Minutes to the free Subway to Downtown, museums, stadiums. The room is a large second floor private guest room with three bathrooms with soaking tub, double bed, dresser, wooden shutters, refrigerator, microwave, desk. Includes Wi Fi , self-controlled heating and air conditioning, roof decks with views of the Park and the Pittsburgh City skyline. Built in 1870, the house had an alcohol still in the attic during Prohibition and a pistol shooting range in the basement. For early morning eating visit the Allegheny sandwich/breakfast shop next door! Nearby is the best Thai restaurant in the City, other cafes with IPO beers, Georgios Italian restaurant, and Peppi's sports submarine...as well as some fast-food places(Subway, Wendy's, McDonalds, and Taco Bell). Guests may use the washer and dryer and the two bicycles in summertime. The owner is a quiet guy who keeps to himself, a grad of Duquesne University. Jack is very interested in preservation of historic buildings, lives simply, plays racquetball, hikes and bikes, meditates and practices yoga. Nearby is the Andy Warhol Museum, National Aviary, Calvary church with its Tiffany windows, Mattress Factory Art Museum, Carnegie Science Center, Children's Museum, Rivers Casino, the Requin submarine on the Ohio River, the YMCA, PNC Park and Heinz Field. This location has easy access to all Interstates, the River walking/hiking trails, three neighborhoods of Victorian homes including the Monterrey Cafe, an Irish Cafe.
  • Jack's house is a wonderfully preserved, comfortable, clean and quiet historical building about a thirty minute walk from Downtown Pittsburgh. TL;DR: 10/10 would stay again The location is superb, situated within the leafy historic suburb of Allegheny. Attractions within walking distance include the Andy Warhol museum, the National Aviary and the Baseball stadium. I also encourage any visitor to check out the sandwich shop next door (come hungry!) and make time for walk in the parks. I was in town for a conference at the David Lawrence convention centre in downtown Pittsburgh. Jack's house is roughly a thirty minute walk or $10 Uber ride from said convention centre, and infinitely preferable to staying in the convention centre hotel (and cheaper!). I would recommend this option to anyone in town for a similar conference. The room was great - super comfortable bed, good AC, great view, plenty of privacy, nice bathroom (not en suite though) etc etc. There is also a fridge, microwave and kettle in the room, and access to a kitchen. Jack also thoughtfully provides certain essentials - snacks, water and wine, free of charge. Jack himself is a delightful host, friendly without being overbearing, and full of historical (URL HIDDEN) about Allegheny and Pittsburgh in general.

  • Jack is really a good and friendly host. He has a lot of stuffs prepared in guest rooms. On the first day, he told me about the history of house and the city. Every question I got he had an answer for it. There is a park next to the house which is really good for jogging. The roof deck is nice and makes me feel relaxed, and the sight is gorgeous. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. It is a place that can make you feel like home.

Lawrence Convention Center-1.2 miles/ a 25 mins walk - to Greyhound Bus Station & Amtrak Train Station: 1.1 miles/ a 22 mins walk So you see that you can just put on your walking shoes, leave your car safely parked in our private garage and go exploring. The hiking/biking path which leads to the stadiums, Carnegie Science Center & Downtown is part of 3 Rivers Heritage Trail, which goes right along the Allegheny River and offers some of the most beautiful scenic views of the city. If you need to use public transportation- we are located on major bus lines and the bus stops are approx. 50 yards from the building. If you prefer using a car we are located a short block away from Interstate I-279 and a block away from PA Rt.28, both of which are major routes leading into & out of the city. Our loft occupies the second floor of a post-industrial building and has great views of the city skyline and surrounding neighborhoods. OUR SPACE The loft has a free-flow layout, with 2 separate bedrooms, bathroom, open dine-in kitchen, large open living/ dining/ entertaining area with an oversized 7ft x 11ft skylight (equipped w/remotely operating blinds) and a front hall with a closet. There is a space for 1 car in our secluded 2-car internal parking garage available for guests’ use. Individually-controlled heat and AC. Free WI-FI (FIOS). All floors are carpeted, except for the kitchen & the bathroom. There is a washer/dryer combination in the loft available for guests’ use, as well as an iron & ironing board. A starter supply of dishwashing soap (both for hand- and machine wash) as well as laundry detergent and dryer sheets is also provided for guests. Both the loft and the garage are smoke-free zones. BEDROOMS. Bedroom #1 has a queen size bed w/memory foam mattress flanked by matching night tables and night lights, closet, reading nook w/ chair & small table and a wood-burning fireplace. It’s a double sided fireplace- the other side opens to the living room. The two windows have a spectacular view of the city skyline. Bedroom #2 has a leather futon which opens up to 5 ft x 6 ft and comfortably sleeps two, 2 night tables w/lamps plus a closet. Linens are provided. BATHROOM. Double width shower stall with twin seats, sink, toilet, storage cabinet. Starter supplies of soap, shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste and toilet paper provided. Towels provided. Cookware (pots, pans, bakeware, cooking utensils & cutlery), as well as dinnerware, glassware & utensils provided. Whether you fancy a 3-course dinner, a morning cappuccino or a margerita at sundown- all you’ll need to get- are just the ingredients. And just in case- we always keep a starter supply of coffee, tea & sugar around. The kitchen has a dining area with a table & 4 chairs plus additional 2 stools. LIVING ROOM. With its almost full wall-length window overlooking the scenic panorama of downtown Pittsburgh, wood-burning fireplace and a flat-screen tv offers quite a dilemma: “What to watch?” Whichever you choose, the 2 leather chairs w/matching ottomans and a full-length futon will surely provide a comfortable seating/lounging option. THE LOUNGING AREA Partially separated from the kitchen and the living room by half-walls this area is located directly under the central skylight and as for the possibilities of use- sky is (literally) the limit. There’s a square table w/4 chairs- perfect for sipping that morning coffee while basking in the sunlight, or for a romantic dinner under the stars. Between the lounging area and the front hall there’s an open space perfect for exercise or yoga. We have a yoga mat available for guests’ use. We have happily lived in this loft for over 10 years and will gladly share our experience and advice with you. We also try to provide our guests with directions, recommendations, written reviews etc., especially folks from out-of-town, who have never visited Pittsburgh. If you have any questions or need advice please do not hesitate to ask. And please, make sure to examine all the enclosed photos and read the entire listing, especially the part about house rules, policies etc.-first. So often we are asked to explain details which are already clearly stated and/or shown in photos in the listing. Also: We gladly offer a SUBSTANTIAL MONTHLY DISCOUNT- for a FULL 30 NIGHTS MINIMUM STAY. Please ask. To ensure a good & trustful relationship we like to learn a little about our guests and the goals and expectations they have for the visit prior to accepting a booking. This also helps us come up with possible recommendations and some custom-tailored advice for your stay. IMPORTANT- PLEASE NOTE: THE PERSON RENTING OUR PLACE HAS TO BE OVER 21 YEARS OF AGE AND WILL BE LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OTHER GUESTS IN THE GROUP. All the required local sales taxes are included in the prices. Hope to see you soon!

  • Upon our arrival we were greeted by Eva, one of the hosts, who made us feel immediately at home. She showed us around the home and was quick to offer up some tips and information about the neighborhood. She was very kind and gracious. The home was exactly as described and was very convenient to North Shore and surrounding areas. We were happy with our choice and look forward to staying there again. Thanks Ben & Eva!

  • Wow!! I can't say enough how great our experience was at Eva and Ben's! They really made it a point in being great hosts by leaving food, drinks and pamphlets for food elsewhere. The loft was warm and cozy, very comfortable for the two days we spent there! Recommend to anyone and everyone, and will definitely keep in mind if I ever need to go back to the area!!

    Anthony2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Eva was so warm and inviting! I didn't get to meet Ben, but it was because they totally appropriately gave us our space. Eva was there to welcome me and show me the ropes when I arrived. They had prepared a welcome pack that had relevant local information, and made things very smooth. They went above and beyond in stocking the kitchen so we didn't have to go grocery shopping. This was immensely helpful. All in all, a fantastic place to stay. We had a great time and would love to go back!

    Patrick2014-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing. This was infinitely better than getting a hotel. Eva was incredibly accommodating and an amazing host. We would come back here in a heart beat.

  • It was great to meet Ben & Eva and we had a wonderful time staying in the loft. Private parking was great as we didn’t have to worry about our car (even had a security cam so felt totally safe). Furniture was fun and comfortable. Our friend didn’t sleep well on the futon in the second bedroom but slept great on the futon in the main living room. There were some groceries available which was great to come in to after an 8 hour road trip. The skylight and city view were absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the space so much we actually were quite content to spend hours in the loft instead of exploring more of the city. The loft was surprisingly quiet for being near the highway and even the road construction wasn’t bad. Ben suggested lots of places that were all within walking distance and we enjoyed the suggestions. Certainly would stay there again next time we come into Pittsburgh.

  • Fantastic hosts, really made every effort to make us feel welcome and at home. Beautiful, unique loft that is both a perfect base for getting around the city and a great place to just relax as well!

    Matthew2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with 3 other colleagues for a conference at the David L. Lawrence convention center. The walk was about 20 minutes. The loft was great. Wonderful layout, really comfortable, great kitchen, I loved it. Our host was kind enough to have the kitchen rather well stocked even. I highly recommend staying here if you're traveling here for a conference at the convention center.

  • We had a great time in Clayton's beautiful historic home. We had everything at the house that we could have needed. The beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood location was wonderful. It was just a short ride to some fun neighborhood spots and to downtown which made for a great mix. Parking was also super easy.

  • The house is amazing, pictures do not do this place justice. Clayton was very prompt in all communications, He suggested a few food places and the thai place *Nicky's* was the best and only 2 blocks away. If i return to the area, i'd be sure to rent his airbnb again.

  • We are 5 Discerning GF's from Michigan who came for a baby shower. Clayton is very personable, easy to deal with and he is very quick to respond to emails. The home itself was easy to find, always available parking, very clean, comfy beds and spacious. Loved the location and all the history that goes with the house!!! Clayton loves his city and its history and gave us excellent tips for restaurants.

    Suzie2016-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing brownstone that is very spacious, immaculately clean, dog-friendly, and in a great neighborhood for exploring the north shore. Great home base for sporting events as you are a 10 minute walk or 5 minute uber ride away from PNC and Heinz. Proximity to dog park, within a city park, makes it perfect for dog owners. Close to Warhol Museum and the Children's museum as well and 2 minutes walk from a few local restaurants. We'll surely return. Clayton is a great host full of local tips.

  • Had a great time in Pittsburgh. The space was amazing, everything they made it out to be. Eva met us as soon as we got there and she was a big help in suggesting the best ways to experience the area. When we come back we will be sure to try to secure this loft again. Thanks for assisting in a great weekend!

  • I felt Ben and Eva gave me concierge service. I arrived late, and the next morning, found eggs, butter, bread, and coffee already in the apartment! The apartment is nicely laid out and spacey, matches the pictures, and the bed is great.

    Alistair2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was great from beginning to end. Ben and Eva were extremely accommodating and made themselves available if we needed anything. The loft was so perfect for the stay and the snacks they left hit the spot late night! The best 1st experience I could ask for!

  • This was a very good place to stay during our visit to Pittsburgh. I was a close walk to the football/baseball stadiums (20 min) and Consol Centre (30 min). Place was very clean and accommodating. Good Price for our 4 day stay. Would recommend to anyone visiting Pittsburgh.

  • Host left us food and snacks. Was cery nice

    Dan2016-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very fortunate to stay at the loft on the holiday weekend. Eva and I messaged each other before my arrival and she was kind enough to pick me up from the bus stop! She took the time to orient me to the city and give me walking directions, as well as a tour of the loft. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen and the view of the city but of course, we spent little time inside. The location has great access to the Strip District and some north side attractions, although we did not enjoy the business district north of the river much (but that's just our tastes). Downtown was an easy and pleasant walk. Eva was responsive to our questions about the flat and our interests. She responds to texts very quickly and never made us feel we were disturbing her. She's a generous host who made my first airbnb experience and first time in the city go smoothly.

  • The loft is an awesome space and such a great location. Eva was so awesome and met us when we arrived to give us a quick tour of the place and give us some helpful tips of the area. The fridge was also stocked and pantry was stocked with some necessities and fruits which was an awesome bonus and way more than we were expecting. The loft is super cool, spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody. We will definitely be staying here again when we return. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

    Bobby2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was fantastic. It was spacious, clean, and in an extremely convenient location to just about anywhere in the city. Ben and Eva were amazing hosts and had snacks, drinks, and fresh bread waiting for us when we arrived. They even left a bottle of champagne for us to enjoy to celebrate New Years. I would definitely return to the apartment the next time I'm in Pittsburgh and would definitely recommend this space to anyone visiting.
