  • This was a wonderful place to stay! We booked his place the day before our arrival, and although he wasn't home, he had the place all set and ready for us, including breakfast foods of our choice in the fridge. The bed was super comfortable and the grounds were very sweet and relaxing. I was reading through Bill's guestbook over breakfast, and his guests were just raving about their experiences at his place, so I know I'm not alone in finding this to be a charming getaway.

  • Bill was really welcoming and gave us helpful tips of where to do some hiking nearby. The apartment was cozy and very clean, plus Bill provided some basics in the kitchen and homemade bread. Had a great stay and would definitely recommend it!

  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here. Our hosts were super nice and friendly. We plan on coming back to explore more of upstate NY and the surrounding hiking areas. We plan on staying here again.

  • We had a wonderful time staying in Bill's guesthouse. Our little cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we could need and more! Bill even gave us some homemade bread and coffee, which we enjoyed next to the beautiful koi pond in the morning. Bill and Hawley were very hospitable and wonderful to chat with, as well. I would definitely love to stay again!

    Samantha2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Bill and Hawley were incredibly helpful and accommodating during our stay. The check-in process was flexible, they were both really easy to communicate with, and the place was cozy as can be. We came during an incredibly cold weekend and Bill and Hawley did everything in their power to make us as comfortable as possible. The fresh bread Bill bakes is no joke, super hearty and delicious. I would love to come back!

    Madeline2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect little getaway! Bill made a lovely dinner amongst the frogs & stars. The bed is comfortable and the rustic charm made for a relaxing night's sleep. I used gps and was driving from the north - the property was easy to find using the provided address.

  • The place is cozy and comfortable, the location well situated, and the host gracious and kind. I recommend staying here.

  • Nice little cottage, well equipped and nicely furnished. Spent a perfectly comfortable night there. Friendly host who quickly responded to communications. I would, and hope to, stay there again.

  • This place is a wonderful spot for a trip upstate. It's impeccably kept. It has a modern kitchen renovation but the house still retains the charm of its era. It's across the street from a park and just up the road from Hyde Park, the Culinary Institute, and the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt historic sites. Amy is a communicative but unimposing host. Highly recommend.

  • Warm, beautifully furnished - no detail left undone - in a quiet neighborhood; Amy's place should be Air B&B's showcase. Against any metric, this home is a max rating. Thank You!

  • Quiet, thoughtfully decorated and renovated space. Clean and accessible, close to all the historic sites (from FDR mansion, to Olana) and right next to Mills Norrie State park with all its surrounding sites and mansions.

  • Fantastic stay - location was amazing, went for a stroll at the state park down the street, along the Hudson, that was a big surprise - House itself was newly renovated, well-equipped, and the hosts went above-and-beyond to make us feel at home - Would stay again in a heartbeat!

    Steven2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • The house was really great for our short stay with our family in the Hudson River valley. Very quiet street -- with a park right across the street. Our kids loved it, running around played my tag with the neighbors kids.

  • One of the best Airbnb place I have rented so far !!! Amy's house was extremely clean and with a very high quality level. We felt at home. I totally recommend if you want to relax for a weekend. Thanks Amy !

  • Beautiful home and property, just as described. We were friends looking for a weekend getaway where we could relax and eat in. The indoor and outdoor spaces were beautifully designed and maintained and Amy's communications made us feel very welcome. The neighbors are quite close. The property is close to a lot of fun things to do and Amy had resources about the area on hand. Highly recommended!

Quaint 1930s farm house on 1 acre. Park-like setting in hamlet within walking distance of Hudson River & Dinsmore Golf Course surrounded by two State Parks. Large front porch. Italian restaurant on nearby corner. Staatsburgh mansion nearby.
1400 square foot 1930s Arts and Crafts home in excellent condition. Garage for one car and workshop.
The hamlet is surrounded by 2 State Parks and contains a public golf course, library and restaurant. Walking distance to Hudson River access.
  • John was very welcoming and made me and my friends feel at home immediately. The property itself is quite cosy and feels like home. Beautiful, clam and serene and just very peaceful. Well appointed kitchen too. Stone's throw away from the beautiful Hyde Park. John is super energetic, and is very helpful and knowledgable. And a very kind and gracious host. Only thing that some might not like is the fact that cellular signal is spotty. But I actually liked being able to get disconnected.

    Kartik2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • John was very accommodating to my party for the weekend that we stayed in Staatsburg. It is such a paradigm shift from the hustle and bustle of the New York City metro area. The interior was in excellent condition, and the ladies were literally swooning over the wood floors, original kitchen, and the overall charm of the house. The house is literally smack in the middle between Hyde Park, where the FDR library is, and Rhinebeck, where the Dutchess county fairgrounds are located. Heating system was exceptionally fast to heat the house, and it was very comfortable during the first frost of the year. There is very limited cellular service at the house, so be aware of that. However, there is an optimum online hotspot nearby, so if you are a customer of Cablevision, you can login to their system for WiFi. I personally preferred the peace and quiet that was 'forced' upon me for a few days.

    Christopher2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • John was incredibly kind and attentive, showed us around the town a bit, and brought us a couple needed kitchen items within 5 minutes of texting him. Home is clean, spacious and warm. A bit rustic - no internet or TV at the time we stayed, which can be a plus to some. Very quite with a sizable backyard. Great place to get away from it all and relax.

    Quiet farmhouse near Rhinebeck

This sweet cottage is close to Rhinebeck, Bard, Marist, Omega Institute, Culinary Institute, and Dutchess Fair Grounds. Hyde Park historical sites are close by. Beautiful views over rolling open fields with abundant wildlife are seen from a lovely stone porch. The property is serene and peaceful, yet close to everything. The cottage is located on 40+acres, adjacent to a Scenic Hudson tract with walking trails. This peaceful spot is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • This lovely, newly-renovated private cottage on a leafy gravel lane off route 9 was everything we could have wished for on a weekend getaway, and then some. A fully stocked kitchen, comfy bed, generously sized living space and beautiful claw foot tub all contributed to a great time indoors, but it's watching the sun set over the adjoining fields from the patio that was the real highlight. You're situated conveniently off scenic route 9, 15 minutes to Rhinebeck and 20 minutes to Poughkeepsie. The property is right down the road from the historic Mills Mansion and state park, and it's easy to see why all those society luminaries from the 20's built their retreats up here: the landscape is simply gorgeous.

  • The cottage was fantastic! Seemed recently renovated and was beautiful, and comfortable. I loved waking up to the great views of the surrounding countryside and was a quick 10 minute drive into Rhinebeck and 10 minutes to Hyde Park. Laura was a great host and was easy to communicate with. I was thinking about staying at a B&B instead, and am so happy that I chose to stay this cottage - I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who asks.

    Kevin2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful cottage. I would return again and again. The cottage itself was so charming and comfortable and the grounds were really breathtaking. Laura was amazing with all the goodies she had awaiting our arrival as well as information, directions and booklet on things to do in the area. Perfect location for our trip to Omega for workshop. Thank you Laura:)

  • My friends and I stayed here for our alumni weekend and it was perfect! Such an adorable cottage with all of the amenities needed for a long weekend. The land surrounding the cottage was beautiful and wonderful to wake up to - even on a rainy day. Very charming.

  • Fantastic cottage! Relaxing, beautiful property, great getaway with still being close to a wonderful town. Would recommend to my family and friends and plan on going back. Laura's a nice and kind host.

  • The cottage is perfectly situated- it feels secluded but is just a short drive to both Rhinebeck and Hyde Park. The views of the meadow were relaxing and beautiful and the cottage itself was very clean and comfortable with high-quality furnishings/linens in good repair. We appreciated the organic breakfast and pantry items. The motion-sensor lights by the parking space and house were also helpful in the evening.

    Sarah2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we drove up to the cottage we knew we were going th have a relaxing weekend. Set beside a lovely field the cottage itself was perfect for my adult daughter, a girlfriend and me. It has a queen bed and a pull out sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped, lots of hot water and good water pressure. The wifi is strong and even though the cottage has streaming, we just enjoyed the quiet and relaxed after a day of touring the area. Laura graciously purchased the items we wanted for breakfast. It is a really good location for visiting the Hudson River Valley and I wish we could have stayed several more days. I would highly recommend this location. Juliana

This 100 year-old home on 82 acres overlooks a beautiful meadow, surrounded by dogwood and maple trees -- breathtaking in spring and fall. In the summer there is a pool surrounded by flowers; in the winter, an atmospheric wood-burning fireplace.
While this house is on a secluded property off a long driveway, it is convenient to many of the Hudson Valley's treasures. The house itself is furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques and modern furniture. Open living and cooking space with amazing views of the private 25-acre meadow. In season, extensive gardens surround the home and pool. Wildlife abounds! The master bedroom has three sides of windows and unique, hand-crafted doors. Lots of light and naturally cool. The kitchen is fully equipped, but bring your own food. There is also a "cauldron" -- something like a fire pit and a grill combined -- which is wonderful to watch the sunset by and prepare dinner. I live on the property (in a separate house) and am happy to introduce you to the area if I am around. I also have a young English Setter who lives at my home but runs around the property at high speeds! He is very friendly and is usually just with me. The property is located about 1000 feet from the Hudson River and Esopus Meadow Preserve. There are half a dozen trails within 5 to 10 minutes' drive. Located 15-25 minutes from New Paltz, Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Woodstock, Kingston, Rosendale, High Falls, Highland. Train into Poughkeepsie (or Rhinecliff) is best public transport. Best to come by car so you can explore the area! Two night minimum. 1 queen bed in master bedroom, and two twin beds in second bedroom. I just added a sofa-bed in the main living room. While I do love your babies, please note that there is a $50 sur charge for infants, although it does not show up in the booking.
There is so much to do in the area, although you may never want to leave this magical spot...Within minutes there are 4 reserves for 1-2 hour hikes, as well as Mohonk about 30 minutes away--with miles and weeks of hiking. There are also vineyards/ distilleries, lots of little villages (Rosendale, High Falls, Stone Ridge, Kingston/uptown, Kingston/rondout, Rhinebeck, Rhinecliff, Red Hook, Beacon, Hudson) and fun restaurants, farms and farmer's markets. Next door there is a picking orchard that has more than just apples and pumpkins in season. Bard and Vassar have terrific music and theatrical programs, and every night of the week there is music playing somewhere nearby (check out: The Falcon, Club Helsinki, Towne Crier, Colony Cafe, among many others).
Vielen Dank !!!

    Susanne2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's place is adorable and the setting is perfect. Great for a getaway and the pool was amazing on hot summer days. We love our time there and there was no electronics of any kind so you can unwind and relax. We loved chilling out so much that we didn't manage to do any walks but we did go into Rhinebeck and there is a cute grocery store called Apple Bin just a few minutes away. We'd love to come back again next summer! Cynthia is super easy to deal with and although we didn't get to meet her, I can tell she has great taste and is very friendly.

  • Our stay was perfect. Beautifully appointed house; everything we needed to hand; kitchen ready for cooks. Host was attentive and respectful. The surroundings, the hand of nature and the host, stunning. Moonrise over the eastern horizon, the river just out of sight but felt. A little lung for the soul.

  • Cynthia's place is delightful

    Ruben2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's place is on the loveliest piece of land, and we couldn't have had a better stay. If you are looking for a gorgeous view and an even more beautiful pool in the Hudson Valley, I don't think you can do much better than this. Cynthia was very responsive to our questions and was a perfect host. The rental is separated from her home on the property, and she was around if we needed anything. We felt like we could have spent weeks just staring at the amazing pasture view.

    Jon2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our family spent a wonderful week at Cynthia's country house and we greatly enjoyed our stay. The space was rustic and charming, the land was gorgeous and Cynthia was an attentive, unobtrusive and fascinating host - we couldn't ask for more, except perhaps a few more days... As a note, we were traveling with our 9 month old daughter and the set-up worked very well - she loved splashing in the pool, playing on the grass and the cool country evenings. Highly recommended.

    andrew2015-08-02T00:00:00Z

  • My husband and I stayed at Cynthia's for a long weekend in August, and it was just lovely. The grounds are gorgeous, and the pool area - stunning! Cynthia was a gracious and unobtrusive host, and was kind enough to offer restaurant recommendations in advance of our trip so that we could make reservations. So appreciated! The house is rustic, charming, and centrally located within the Hudson Valley. We only wish we had had more of a chance to enjoy the grounds and amenities while we were there. Next time!

Tucked in the heart of a 14 acre parcel, graced with mature conifers, away from any road, this historic stone pump house was once part of the majestic Huntington Estate. This was the source of the drinking water for the Locusts Estate where Helen Huntington lived with Vincent Astor and the pump house where later Rudolf Firkušný composed and played many of the classic piano concertos. This unique abode comfortably sleeps 4 with a private bedroom (w/queen sized bed) and a loft with two twin beds. The front blue stone patio overlooks picturesque landscape reflected off the water of a still pond stocked with enough fish for catch & release to make any child or adult a happy fisherman. It is conveniently located just 18 minutes north of the Poughkeepsie’s Metro North and 10 minutes south from the Rhinecliff Amtrak Stations. A five minute drive gets you to the center of Rhinebeck and a short stroll to Mills Norrie State Park where boating and hiking can provide the quintessential escape from a busy life. Neighbors include: The Culinary Institute of America, the Mills Mansion, the Vanderbilt Mansion, Wilderstein Mansion, the Omega Institute, Hudson Valley wineries, horses, deer, rabbits, turkey, hawks, herons, mallards & dozens of other bird species. Minimum stay is 3 days. Available for long term bookings.

  • Cory was an amazing host! She was very communicative and helpful, and the house was the perfect location for our group over the New Year's holiday. Cory answered all of my questions prior to our trip, and she made the entire experience very convenient. The property is large and private, but with plenty of conveniences close by. The views of the pond and woods are gorgeous! The house itself is very spacious, and the fireplace is a beautiful setting to relax with friends. Cory provided plenty of towels and linens for our group, and the washing machine was an added convenience. Everything was super cozy in the winter, with nice comforters and a big soft couch. I even took a relaxing bubble bath in the Jacuzzi tub! We cooked several group meals, and the kitchen is well appointed with everything you might need. The deck is also a well-situated place to relax- it will be very nice in the spring and summer. We did not have any children in our group, but the house is well-suited for families with kids. I highly recommend this house for groups looking to relax in the Hudson Valley!

  • The house was perfect for families with young children and the location was a great base for exploring the Hudson Valley- just minutes away from Hyde Park. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools and the large dining table was great to have. We also appreciated that the linens & towels were all great quality throughout the house. Our kids really enjoyed the backyard zipline, swings and basketball nets. And, just as described in the listing, we saw wildlife in the yard every day!

    Private Country Home near Rhinebeck

Comfortable, cozy, quiet 4 BR/3 bath home on a wooded acre in Staatsburg sleeps 8 with piano, guitar, media, a fully-equipped kitchen, indoor/outdoor dining with BBQ, writing loft, family & music rooms, with fireplace, wood stove, A/C and WiFi throughout.
This is a great place to relax: play our piano and guitar; read our books; watch cable TV using our Optimum maximum subscription; stream music and videos and take advantage of our networked audio system. Our kitchen is fully equipped, so you can cook great meals and entertain indoors and out in the quiet wooded setting. There are spaces to be together and apart with beautiful parks all around to bike, hike, boat, snowshoe, sled, ski, study some really interesting history, attend performances and/or classes at several colleges, including Bard and Vassar. The Culinary Institute of America, Omega Institute, FDR's Library, Eleanor's Val-Kill, the Mills and Vanderbilt mansions, and Poet's Walk are minutes away by car. Though we've now lived in the region for two years, we continue to be amazed by its beauty and cultural richness. Most recently we've started to visit local wineries, of which there are many, and our older son, who founded Knee High Media in Japan, introduced us to the Farm-t-Table movement in our area when he, his wife and Japanese crew visited with us while creating their Hudson Valley issue of Paper Sky.
When we found and furnished our Staatsburg home, our guiding principal was to make it as comfortable as possible with lots of good reading lights, books, art, music, wi-fi, cable and A/C. It is a light, airy 3-level house with a wonderful deck that feels like a treehouse. It is located in the middle of the mid-Hudson Valley close to Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Woodstock and the Catskills. There are many wonderful parks and places nearby like FDR's home and presidential library and Valkill (Eleanor's cottage), Vanderbilt and Mills Mansions, Bard, Vassar and Marist Colleges, Kaatsbaan Int'l Dance Center, the Fisher Center for Performing Arts, and the restaurants and cooking classes at the Culinary Institute of America. Storm King and DIA are an hour away in Beacon and the towns of Woodstock and Hudson are both about a half-hour drive.
  • Everything was smooth and easy with this rental. Dave was so helpful and had a book full of all the necessary info so we felt very independent, yet taken care of. The house is even nicer than the pictures show and it was a perfect and comfortable spot for our weekend in Rhinebeck.

  • Beautiful and very spacious. Dave is a very gracious host, fast and easy communication. We hope to be back.

  • This home was beyond my expectations. It is welcoming and warm. Josanna & David have done an amazing job in decorating and they have thought of everything. The home is also child oriented. There are covers on all of the electrical outlets and gates to use for the stairs should you need them. There are even new toothbrushes in the bathrooms! Can you imagine that???! The home is well stocked with many things; for instance, there are spices and some staples should you need them. There is even a notebook that assists you with the home. It contains important information for the lights, locks, getting on the wifi, etc. In addition, there is another notebook with recommendations for restaurants, shopping, etc. It is a very thoughtful and welcome addition to the home. The setting is outstanding. It is secluded but the towns are only a 10 minute ride. It was wonderful to know that our hosts were only a phone call away in case there were any issues. They are wonderful people---so warm and welcoming. This was not a house to rent, but a home . My only issue is that we could not stay there forever! STAY THERE you will not regret it!

  • The house was all we could want. It was beautiful, immaculate, quiet. It was just what we needed. It was so much nicer than staying in a motel. We were four couples and had all the room we needed. If we had stayed in a motel we would have all retreated to our room after dinner but here we stayed up and talked. I don't think we even turned a television on. Thanks Dave and Josanna

  • I have rented many homes on vacation rental sites, and Dave and Sanna are without question the most accommodating and friendly hosts I have encountered. They responded to very small requests very quickly and their instruction manual was excellent. Most importantly, their modern home is spacious and beautifully furnished. I rented it for two months for creative guests who were visiting me last summer. Everyone raved about the home -- the views over the deck to the back yard, the lovely pathway to the pond with Adirondack chairs, the well-supplied kitchen, and the quiet and comfortable bedrooms were highlights. There is so much space to spread out and a lovely gathering space in the "music room", which has fantastic light from windows and skylights and gorgeous views of the trees which surround the home. It's only a 10 minute drive to beautiful downtown Rhinebeck, yet you feel you are in a remote country location. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

    Katherine2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • I echo the comments of others in that the house exceeded expectations. We were five sixty-year old guys, coming from around the northeast to have a bit of a reunion, tell stories of our time together in college and consider where we are today. The layout of the house was conducive to all that. The sleeping accommodations were perfect, three full bathrooms for convenience, and two distinct sitting areas where we spent much of our time. There was a little market 2 miles away to get essentials and lots of restaurants and other shops a 10-15 minute drive from there. It was on a very quiet street. The handbook for the house gave details about how everything would work. There was everything you could want from a fully equipped kitchen to extra blankets and towels. The supplementary binders gave us info on hiking trails which were very useful, and other places to visit. Dave replied quickly to texts/e-mails and answered all our questions ahead of time. Love the coded front door lock so we didn't have to worry about keys. We had five cars so the double entrance driveway allowed us all to be able to get in and out as needed. We looked at dozens of houses in the Hudson Valley before choosing to stay here. We were very happy with the choice.

    Bruce2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The ease of moving into the Restful Treehouse for our five week stay this summer can only be attributed to Dave and Josanna's careful and considerate planning that they arranged for their guests. They thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Really everything...fully well quality stocked kitchen, complete cable package, great mattresses, pillows and linens. But what is outstanding is the home itself. So spacious and loft like while still offering intimate and private areas. The design of the house and its windows bring the lush, green outdoors in. The oversized deck is wonderful for entertaining and al fresco dining and became the gathering spot for morning coffee, sunset cocktails and evening chats. We loved the location. So easy to get to everyplace from here. Minutes to the State Parks for Hudson River walks and hikes, a quick drive to Rhinebeck for shopping and great restaurants. A fifteen minute drive to Roosevelt and Vanderbilt mansions, or going north to Bard for concerts and their very special produce stand. Such good farm to table food all around. It was a sad day when we left the Treehouse and hope that we will have another opportunity to return. Upper Westside New York City

  • Dave and Josanna's house was perfect and spacious for 6 adults and 2 children. It was a lovely retreat from the busy city yet full of the modern day details like temperature controls in every room, key-less entry, wi-fi that works, multiple TV's, and most of the lights on dimmers. My whole family, including my picky husband, complimented the house all weekend. From the beginning to the end, Dave was great with communications and when I asked them where I could buy my kids organic milk nearby, they offered to get it for me. For a mom traveling with 2 young kids, it is the biggest favor to have the milk already in the house when we arrived! My one complaint was that the water had a sulfer smell but that may be a problem common in the area and Dave said they will work on it further. They do have filtered cold and instant-hot in the kitchen. I would definitely book this house again!

  • My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay Candace's beautiful home in Rhinebeck for our annual weekend in town to attend the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival. The home was spacious, clean, mattresses superb, neighborhood was peaceful and scenic and we had the company of her chickens! Candace was extremely responsive and easy to connect with and the added amenities like fresh eggs, milk, bagels and orange juice made us feel very welcome. We immediately asked to stay here again next year!

    Diane2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Candace's house was great. It was very comfortable and spacious, perfect for a group of 7 of us. Candace was a wonderful host and decorated the dining room for us for New Years Eve. She also recommended many hikes that were nearby, and which we were able to take advantage of. The kitchen was well-equipped, and there is also a gas grill and fire pit, all of which we were able to use. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely return.

  • This is a wonderful house with a breathtaking view from the back porch. Live the small farm life in New York with plenty of space for up to 6 people. The basement is full of family fun from ages 3+ and the kitchen is big enough and supplied with enough utensils to cook for plenty. Candace was available 24/7 and was quick to response to any added needs or concerns. I'd stay again 10/10 times.

    Justin2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. Candace went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. She knew we were celebrating a birthday that w/e and had balloons there and even wrote happy birthday on the sidewalk as we entered the home. She thought of everything to make us comfortable. The grandkids loved going out in the morning to see the chickens and get fresh eggs . We enjoyed smores at the fire pit . I could go on and on ... The back yard was amazing and the view and sunset were beautiful. My kids and grandkids loved it!!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Candace for such a great experience!

    kathy2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Candace could not have been more accommodating and the house was fantastic. Plenty of seating, indoor and out, which is key for family gatherings like ours. The kids loved the chickens, and the adults loved the eggs. If you have little ones and teens as we did the rec room has everything from baby swings to racecar tracks to a ping pong table. Plenty of linens and everything you need. Highly recommended. We only wish we were staying longer to enjoy the amazing view. Ps beds were really comfortable too.

  • We had a lovely time in the Gallagher's beautiful home. While the house is conveniently located minuted from the town of Rhinecliff, the setting has an abundance natural beauty. We saw hawks, a variety of other beautiful birds, an army of turkeys and deer. We very much enjoyed the tasty green beans, mint, tomatoes and strawberries they welcomed us in their private garden. The house is well-appointed and comfortable with AC, great mattresses and other high quality comforts. Candace put a great deal of effort to insure we were well=stocked with goodies as well as necessities and we appreciate her efforts. Also, Candace is an extremely nice person to deal with and afforded us privacy throughout our stay. We're planning to get back to the Gallagher's lovely home in the near future. Thanks again Candace.

    Patricia2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Candace was an amazing host, and we had a great time staying here. What better way is there to start your day than with fresh eggs from the chickens out back, and grilling on the back porch? There was plenty of room for ten of us to sleep comfortably, and there were plenty of towels/bedding/essentials for all of us. We had fun with the ping pong table in the basement, and were even able to get a workout in (there is a bench for bench pressing). As a host, Candace was always quickly reachable and was extremely accommodating.

You’ll love my place because of the location and the ambiance. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
  • Great location set way back from the road. Came as a couple, clean room and comfortable mattress. Enjoyed chatting with Michele, a long time resident of Rhinebeck. She happily made us a pot of coffee in the morning. Beautiful property with two ponds and much serenity. Will definitely stay again!

    Karen2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was magical--from waking up and seeing deer right outside my window, to the most affectionate cat, to the ponds outside, to the quiet and serene woodsy backyard; it was all wonderful.

    Donn2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's home is very lovely and her properly is beautiful. There were many deer on her lawn when we arrived the first night and we saw quite a few more throughout the rest of our stay. We were in town for the Dutchess County Fair and her house was conveniently located for us. Michelle was very kind and provided coffee for us each morning, as well as many pamphlets of things to do / best places to eat. The bed was comfy and bathroom fully stocked. Would highly recommend.

    Christy2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The property is absolutely gorgeous and well-kept. The house and room are comfortable and Michelle is a welcoming host! We had the perfect weekend there!

    Melanie2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's home and grounds were outstandingly welcoming and peaceful. The well-kept secluded setting is replete with birds, mature trees, and small woodland beings. Enjoy them from the deck overlooking one of the ponds. Her home is immaculate, the bed extremely comfortable, and the shower has great water pressure. The cats are delightful and add to the tranquility of the home. Michelle made me feel quite at home and was always available should I have a question. She is a gracious and considerate hostess.

    Sharon2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is a relaxed and responsive hostess! Loved hanging out with her friendly cats and walking around her property. Room was on the first floor as shown in the photos, and the way it is set up with the bathroom outside but immediately adjacent gave us a lot of privacy. We made use of the living area, dining area, and kitchen during our stay. Bed was comfy, linens crisp, and showers nice and hot. Location was easy to find, close to town but also midway between the Aerodrome and the FDR Library and Museum we were visiting on this trip. Really loved the tranquility and proximity to nature!

  • Troy's house is lovely, nestled in Hyde Park just north of the FDR Library. Troy was extremely welcoming, plying us with delicious Norwegian breakfast, advice about our itinerary, and stories about his life. Would definitely stay there again.

    Bill2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay, with great food and an extremely generous and friendly host! We had the most ideal weekend stay with Troy. His home is impeccable, spacious, beautifully and stylishly decorated. He put a lot of care in every detail of his house and it was a pleasure to stay two nights at his place. He served us delicious Norwegian breakfast - a three course meal - every morning for us. He cooked all of his food with organic fresh ingredients. The best meal was his garlic seared tuna steak - top quality cuisine. He was generous enough to invite us to dine with his close friends from the neighborhood on both Friday and Saturday nights where we had amazing meals and company. Troy also took excellent care of us by driving us around Hyde Park and Red Hook areas to do hikes and see the estates. He took us to pick blueberries in the farm nearby. He even picked us up and dropped us off from the train station. Troy welcomed us into his home as we had known each other for a long time. It was a really special experience. The room we stayed were clean, comfortable with a new mattress. We are thankful that Troy has been such an amazing host. I could not recommend his place higher! We definitely hope to visit him again soon.

    Mari2015-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Was very warmly welcomed by Troy and his 2 dogs ( who were very well-behaved!). He has a beautiful home, light and airy, with lovely views of his garden. Our room was, as described, with a very comfortable bed. Had slight disturbance on our first night from the nearby train noise - but unavoidable. Second night we didn't hear them at all. His hospitality was second to none. He showed us around The Vanderbilt Mansion Garden, where he is a volunteer. His culinary skills were impressive - a Scandinavian breakfast which was an education, and joining with other guests and friends for an evening meal, cooked on his bbq, was an unexpected bonus. All in all, a great stay.

    Gill2015-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Troy pulls out all the stops as a fabulous host--from bottled water and robes in the rooms, to kind dinner invites, to the most spectacular Norwegian breakfast you'll ever experience outside of Norway. He was easy to communicate with and made our stay an enjoyable, memorable one. I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area!

  • This place is a real treat. Breakfast alone would put Troy's airbnb off the charts - he thinks of every detail, and is remarkably open and welcoming. His manner is relatively formal, but at the same time relaxed. He seems determined to make it a great experience for all of his guests. One of the best airbnb's we've visited!

I have the house decorated to where it is comfortable and clean. It is located only ten mins from the Kingston area which includes malls, stores and great places to eat both on the river and casual. The water view is fanatastic and living on the top floor of 2 is great for noise. It is a quiet neighborhood and has access to a gym, pool, tennis court, parking and washer/dryer.
My place is about 1300 square feet and has two full bedrooms with walk in closets as well as two full baths. There is a big living room which is cozy and relaxing. I do have a dog who is a yellow lab/golden retriever mix named Jaxson. He is about 50 lbs and is a sweet and friendly dog.
Family neighborhood that is very friendly

17 Moore Lane is located just footsteps from Shaupeneak Ridge and the famous Black Creek. Perched on a ridge overlooking the river, this one bedroom, one bath cabin offers a simple escape from New York with gorgeous views and easy access to all that the Hudson Valley has to offer. The cabin is situated between Kingston, and New Paltz and is a short drive to Saugerties, Rhinebeck, High Falls and the historic FDR Mansion. Note: the trains that come up and down the Hudson River can be heard.
  • We stayed here for a week on our honeymoon from the UK, and we couldn't have asked for somewhere more special. It's even better than it looks in the pictures. You can't tell from them but it's nearly surrounded by the woods, so feels really private, and the view you wake up to in the top room is glorious! Others have mentioned the sound of the train going through every so often - it is undeniably quite loud, but you quickly get used to it, and it actually really adds to the unique charm of the place. We loved exploring the local area, there are some great walks and pretty towns near by. The communication from Dan was also great. In short, if you're deliberating over a few places, you can't go wrong with this one!

  • Daniel's home was the perfect place for a break from the city, even in the snowy weather.

    Brittany2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Daniels home was beyond my expectations. The house location is perfect. Perched on top of a hillside we were able to watch beautiful sunrises and one night it rained so we watch the storm come in from the distance. It is close to so many hiking spots, its hard to choose what to do. We went to Woodstock Farm Sanctuary about a 30 min beautiful drive away. We hiked to the Cornish Estate Ruins the next day. Also the house sits over looking another hiking trail. The house is filled with amazing furniture and its all comfortable. The kitchen has all the stuff you need to make meals. This house wouldn't disappoint! Daniel is a great host and his communication with us was quick and helpful.

    amanda 2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful two-night stay at Daniel's place, and only wish we had booked more nights! It's the perfect spot to hunker down, play board games, and do a whole lot of nothing. The place is very thoughtfully decorated and immediately feels like home. We also enjoyed being able to walk to hiking trails and had a delicious dinner at the nearby Global Palate restaurant. Definitely recommend four-wheel drive for getting up the steep driveway if you're visiting during a snowy season!

  • We spent three nights at the house and had the best time ever. We relaxed on the porch every morning and drank our coffee and hunkered down with some wine by the fire at night. Our days were spent hiking the Shaupeneake Ridge trails with our two English setters and fires in the pit outside before bed. We cooked all of our meals in and just relaxed. We ventured to Woodstock for the day and to our dog's favorite spot, Cooper lake. We appreciated the decor, the furnishings, the attention to detail and all of the charm this place has to offer. We definitely hope to be back. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home. s

  • Wonderful stay! This cabin was so cozy and beautifully decorated, and the location is quiet and peaceful. It was unseasonably cold during our stay but the place stayed warm and the wood stove made it extra special. Kitchen was very functional with new appliances and everything we needed. Lots of good hiking and nature nearby. Dan was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The driveway and stairs to the loft are both pretty steep, as he says in the listing. Perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing weekend getaway with our dog.

  • The stay at Daniel's Esopus house was awesome. The house and view is truly a gem overlooking the valley, just like you see in the pictures. The small house is beatifully decorated and has everything you need to relax and cook for a couple of days. 5 minutes down the road is the beginning of really nice hiking trails making this a perfect starting point to explore the area by foot. Daniel was quick to answer any questions we might have making this a great stay.

    Mads2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel's place was absolutely beautiful - a perfect retreat for our honeymoon. It was just as it looks in the photos and so cozy and comfortable. We were able to relax and enjoy the views of the changing fall leaves, but we were also close enough to explore Kingston, New Paltz and Poughkeepsie (by going over the Walkway Over the Hudson). We couldn't be happier with our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway!

  • Angela's home was wonderful. When we arrived, everything was spotless. Couldn't have asked for a better view! Very convenient and easy to get to from the city. Plenty to do around the house. New Paltz and Beacon are a short drive away. Lake Minnewaska was a nice day trip too! Angela made the home feel like a bed and breakfast. Comfy beds with nice linens. We appreciated the nice touches like shampoo, an extra toothbrush if you forgot yours, and condiments in the fridge. While Angela was onsite in another home at the property, you never felt intruded upon. We'd love to come back! And yes-it is directly on the river.

    Erica2014-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We do alot of Airbnb bookings and this was top notch. Angela was really great and the location was awesome. The sunny mornings with the birds all around will be missed. We loved that fact that the house had zones so some could talk upstairs with another group downstairs.

    Jeremy2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Angela is one of the best hosts you can have. Here's an example: it was about to snow and she texts to give you a heads up to park safely and arranges snow cleaning. Point being - she thinks of everything. We came with two families and the house was immaculate.

    Muneeb2015-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying with Angela and everything was just as wonderful as the first time. The entire back of the house has an amazing view of the river. There's even some bird watching with the feeder by the porch. We cooked all week and had everything that we needed. Plenty of space and beds. Definitely a great place to a escape! Angela was very helpful and accommodating to our schedule. She's quick to respond when we had questions and inquiries.

    Kathy2015-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wondrrful time in Angela's house. The place is close to all kinds of attractions and boasts a wonderful view of the Hudson River, though we couldn't really hang out down by the banks because of our small kids. The upstairs barbecue area did the trick, and so did the terrace. Angela was helpful, discreet and incredibly friendly every time we needed her recommendations, which include the Comeau property in Woodstock and Saigerties lighthouse. Small detail on the house: lights in dining area aren't very inviting. Something dimmer would have been much nicer to go with all of the yummy barbecuing.

    Nicolas2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very friendly and easy to communicate with. Eight of us enjoyed the clean house and great views of the Hudson. Kitchen was equipped with everything a big group would need to cook and grill. Great experience.

    Michael2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is the place!!! Look no further. Pictures do not do it justice. I spent the 4th of july weekend here with my family (4 adults and 1 child) VERY comfortably. The space definitely had capacity for at least 2 more adults and we would still have been very comfortable. It's a lovely secluded location on the river with river access. We acquired a couple of kayaks and took a nice leisurely paddle along the shoreline, taking in all the gorgeous Hudson River Valley views. There's a lovely town park that is nearing completion just across the street with some nice hiking trails. Angela was a very welcoming and helpful host. She gave us the quick tour and showed us everything we needed to know about the property. We might never have found the river access without her help! If you are planning to cook like we did the kitchen is great and well stocked with A LOT of equipment (pots, pans, etc). However I would recommend bringing either your favorite knives for prep work, or bring a knife sharpener. The knives were not in bad shape for an airbnb, but it can't hurt to have. By the end of our stay I wish I had brought mine. (to be fair, I never thought to ask Angela if she had one so there may be one available that I did not know about.) Regardless, You'll love it here! If and when the occasion arises, we are definitely coming back here.

    Matthew2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great property, and we had an absolute blast staying here. The bird feeder maintained by Angela made it even better, drawing all sorts of birds to the property, on top of the incredible view. It was nice to stay at a place that was so well-stocked and was so comfortable. It was hot and sunny but the house stayed very cool. The chairs and tables setup down by the waterfront was an extra surprise. Such a great place, we may go back next year.

  • Kym's apartment was clean and well-furnished, with excellent views of the river and wonderful sunrises. The home was private and easy to access, although keep in mind that one will not have access to the terrace if the studio (adjoining listing) is occupied. Kym was welcoming and even offered a complimentary night's stay as she was away. Great spot to rejuvenate!

  • Kym's place was a pleasant retreat right on the Hudson River. Kym herself provides a level of service above and beyond most hosts that I have encountered. Highly recommended as a great stay in the Kingston area.

  • This is a beautiful property on the Hudson. We sat outside in the evening and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the Hudson along with a nice bottle of wine. Kym and Shannon responded to my questions quickly and were very accommodating .

  • Staying at Kym's was an amazing experience! My husband and I loved her beautiful, artistic, impeccably clean home. The river house was incredibly relaxing with gorgeous views of the Hudson. Within a short walk of several hiking trails including the stunning High Banks Preserve. Kym was a thoughtful, conscientious and creative host, from suggesting and proving details on restaurants, hiking trials, day trips and places to visit to providing fun snacks, smoothies, drinks, breakfast and coffee. Free Netflix access and two huge TVs was a nice movie night bonus (including popcorn). All high-end toiletries, towels, hairdryer, linens and bedding are provided. I will definitely be back for a visit to the river house and I highly recommend staying with Kym!

  • Shannon's place was perfect. It is beautiful, RIGHT on the Hudson, and as we arrived we watched the train chug by on the other side of the river among the fall foliage. The bed was one of the most comfortable we'd ever slept in, the TV had lots of entertainment options, and she kept the kitchen stocked with basic necessities. The shower is great too. It's the perfect place for reading, rest, relaxation... It was so quiet right on the river, just what we needed away from the city. Check in was easy as can be and Shannon was very communicative.

    Michael2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon and Michael were perfect hosts. They even left us coffee, creamer, and water in the refrigerator upon our arrival. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the location is ideal - a short drive to Kingston and not too far from other Hudson hot spots, such as Saugerties and Woodstock. We would happily stay there again, and we would recommend it to anyone.

  • Perfect place for a city get-away with amazing views of the Hudson.

    Tom2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Shannon's Airbnb is such a wonderful retreat with a fantastic host. At first we were concerned that it may be a bit small for us but those concerns were unfounded. It was the perfect space for our little family of 3. The property was clean and Shannon even left us some milk, orange juice and cereal. The surrounding towns provide lots to do. Our favorite thing though was listening to the waves from the river at night on the covered patio. Our trip was so relaxing I would highly recommend giving this place a try. We can't wait to visit again.

    Katherine2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING!!!! What a phenomenal experience! This is the best place to unwind and let the world go by. The amenities are phenomenal and Shannon and Michael could not be more lovely people. They were beyond accommodating and helpful with any request. I would come back in a heartbeat

    Simon2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • One hundred stars go to Shannon for having the most amazing Airbnb ever!! The place is absolutely gorgeous, comfortable, clean, and luxurious. The apartment looks out on the river and the whole wall is glass that opens to the most magnificent view. We were there two nights and experienced a rainbow and a shooting star! I wish I could live in a place like that all the time. Its so peaceful and beautiful I hated leaving and definitely will be back. Thank you again Shannon!!!

  • Mambaye was very friendly, welcoming and easy and I felt like at home for the two nights I stayed at his nice house. I'll be back if I'm in the area.

    Patrick2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed staying at Mambaye's house. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Since the house is in a quiet location, I could sleep perfectly. He even provided nice linen and towels for my stay. I will definitely come back!

    Holger2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Mambaye and his family were consistently gracious and helpful. From my perspective, the sofa that converted to a bed was, in terms of comfort, indistinguishable from a regular bed. In my view, this is an excellent place to stay if you are visiting Hyde Park or the FDR Presidential Museum.

    Isaac2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • I was visiting Pine Grove Dude Ranch with some friends and spent the weekend at Mambaye. His house was spacious, clean and the area is very quiet. If you are looking for an area to get away from the noisy city-this is the place to go. Mambaye was an awesome host, he is very hospitable and made me feel at home. I do recommend his place to all.

    PAT2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great place and Mambaye is the best host. Must recommended place if you are in the area.

    Rutvik2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Omega Institute brought me to the area and was my sole reason for staying at Mambaye’s place. His Zen abode is anywhere from an 11 minute to 15 minute journey depending on how fast you drive in pitch darkness. I just needed a place to sleep, shower and store my food as I am at Omega from 6:40am until 10pm. Park your car in his driveway adjacent to his house. Your bedroom is up a flight of stairs and includes a desk, chair, bookshelf, wifi code and pull out sofa bed that is set up upon your arrival. Bed is comfortable. I did not need to unpack for my weekend visit so I just laid my suitcase on the floor of the bedroom. After I was approved for this itinerary, Mambaye sent me instructions on gaining entry to the house and he inquired about my estimated time of arrival. His communication was excellent. I used his freezer & refrigerator (no pork) to store my food that I brought with me on this trip. I was asked to remove my shoes upon entry of the house. Water pressure is good, hot water was good. House is quiet. Your bedroom faces the backyard so while not completely silent from the occasional car, it is quiet. Mambaye was home Friday late afternoon when I arrived. He was gracious and brought my suitcase up to my bedroom. I left his home a few minutes later and only saw him once more on Saturday night in his car in the driveway. I don’t know if he was coming or going. I had no idea where his space was in his house or if he was even there when I was there. I will definitely attempt to stay at Mambaye’s again when taking an Omega workshop but now that you know he is so close to Omega, he may already be booked next time I’m in the area…

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at this beautiful home in Hyde Park. The house was the perfect "home base" for a weekend of visiting Hyde Park, enjoying the scenery and having delicious meals. Benjamin was an extremely responsive and helpful host. The house is very comfortable and perfectly equipped. We are so glad we chose this as the place to spend the weekend!

The layout of the house is perfect for spending time together and the proximity to the Vanderbilt mansion and the train station was great as well. Overall, we had a wonderful stay.

  • Home away from home!!! We were pleasantly surprised by the beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained home (inside and out) that Kathryn and John were willing to share with us this past weekend. From the moment we arrived, everything we might need or want was readily available; wine glasses in the room, snacks throughout the house, home made cookies, lotions, soaps, etc. you name in, it was there. Our plans fell through for the evening so we were back to the house early. Kathryn and John invited us to join them and their friends for a cocktail, we ended up spending 3 plus hours in pleasant conversation. The next morning Kathryn and John provided a wonderful continental breakfast and again wonderful conversation. Looking forward to our next tip to the Hudson Valley and definitely booking with Kathryn and John.

Leaf peepers can enjoy a luxurious stay at One Vanderbilt Lane. Very close to the Culinary Institute of America, Walkway Over The Hudson, FDR Home and Library, Vanderbilt Mansion, Rhinebeck, Dutchess County Fairgrounds, Marist, Vassar and Bard. A lovely, historic home, formerly part of the Vanderbilt Estate, a 19th century Gilded Age Mansion, in scenic Hyde Park,. When FDR was in town the secret service would sleep in this house. This is documented in the archives in the Roosevelt Library.
One Vanderbilt Lane is located very close to the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), Vanderbilt Mansion and FDR Home and Library. It is next to St. James Church where FDR was baptized and where his funeral service was held. There are notable, historic figures buried in the cemetery in back of the church. Vanderbilt Lane is a National Historic site. The former Vanderbilt stables, blacksmith house, the creamery, a carriage house and farm workers residence are located on this street. One Vanderbilt Lane sits on approximately 4 acres of land with a vast array of foliage and gardens, built-in swimming pool, as well as a pond. The main floor includes a two bedroom suite, each with a queen-size bed, dresser and closet space and 60 inch flat screen TV's. One bath is within the suite and another down the hall. Both fully stocked with bath towels, soap, shampoo and hair dryer. Upstairs, there are two additional bed rooms plus a half bath, both and have smaller flat screen TV's. The main bath for this suite is located next to the staircase. The steps were put in at the time that the house was built and are not as modern as the ones built today. A person with mobility issues may have a problem climbing them. The upstairs rooms are smaller then the ones downstairs and have slanted ceilings. A large living area with fireplace on the main floor is a great place to relax. Should you desire to have your meals at One Vanderbilt, there is a large kitchen with a breakfast nook as well as a separate dining room for use, and a screened in porch with seating for eating as well as an additional twin bed. In summer, a built in pool, out door barbecue and dining/lounge patio area are available. It's a great place to escape and get away from the stresses of life!
Hyde Park is a town located in the northwest part of Dutchess County, New York, United States, south of the quaint village of Rheinbeck. The town is most famous for being the hometown of U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt and is the location of the Culinary Institute of America. Which is America's premier college devoted to culinary and pastry arts. The area includes beautiful landscape, views, hiking and biking trails, dining and much more.

  • We had an amazing weekend at Kathy's house! The pictures of the house and the surrounding area really don't do it justice - it's just beautiful and so well maintained. Kathy could not have been a more welcoming and helpful host. We were so happy with our experience and would definitely come back again!

  • This is a beautiful and comfortable house with gorgeous patio, pond, and pool. Carefully prepared with good kitchen supplies. Kathy is a very friendly and accommodating host, helping me with extra sheets for additional guests. I highly recommend it. On a busy road, traffic noise if anyone is sensitive to that.

  • We had an absolutely amazing weekend in Kathy's home! The house was beautiful, spacious, extremely clean, and very well stocked with anything we might need (such as plenty of towels, paper goods, food supplies, and a fully stocked kitchen!). The grounds were beautiful as well - we spent most of our time outdoors, either grilling and relaxing on the patio overlooking the pond, or swimming in the large pool. Kathy was wonderful to deal, and happily accommodated our requests. Would love to come back here again!

  • We could have not asked for a better host! After having a very long trip from South Africa, we arrived to a beautiful home, with a well stocked fridge and a meal. Kathy and her sister Peggy are wonderful hosts and ensured that we had a very comfortable stay. This is the perfect location if you are visiting the CIA and a lot more comfortable than a hotel. I highly recommend staying at Vanderbilt lane.

  • Kathy and her family had a lovely home! The family was there to meet and greet us upon arrival. Kathy made herself available to us in case we needed anything. The hospitality from Kathy and her family was very welcoming. Between the beautiful property and the ambiance of her home I would highly recommend this location. They had beautiful wood carved designs along the property and access to their pool. Kathy was very friendly and ensured that we were taken care of throughout our stay. If I'm ever in the area, this is where I'm staying!

  • We had a great time her! Kathy was very generous with us, providing food for breakfast, offering to cook for us, and being flexible with our check out time. House is directly across from Vanderbilt mansion. The pool was great, plenty of room in the house, kitchen well equipped. Hope we can come back again next year!

  • We had such a wonderful time! Our hosts were on hand when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. The house is large and beautifully decorated, and the grounds are park like with gracious outdoor seating. Plenty of places for gathering in and out of the house. My favorite place was sitting by the pond under the beautiful trees! A lovely continental breakfast was provided with a tray of fresh fruit! We look forward to returning to Vanderbilt Lane, and highly recommend this accommodation.

My spacious, contemporary home on 8 1/2 acres is surrounded by tall trees, is totally private with no other houses in view. Near all transportation , 15 minutes to town of New Paltz. There are many nearby attractions: Hiking in Shaupneak Ridge Park, minutes from the house.. rock climbing the Shawangunks (The Gunks), boat rides on the Hudson, Frog Hollow Farm riding stable nearby, HITS, John Burroughs Reserve ,tubing down the Esopus River, and many fine restaurants. Enjoy the Hudson Valley!
The living room has a vaulted ceiling and sky lights, bamboo and tile floors. There is lots of light . The large bedroom has a private bath and a walk in closet. The space is very quiet. The deck in the back of the house over looks woods and stone walls and is available to guests.
I live in a rural neighborhood 2 1/2 miles from the Hudson River . It is a quiet area yet convenient to New Paltz, Kingston, Poughkeepsie and 20 minutes from the Kingston/Rhinecliff Bridge. Shaupeneak Ridge hiking trails minutes away. 25 minutes from Lake Mohonk and Lake Minnewaska. There is a riding stable down the roa d for anyone who would like a lesson on one of the well trained horses. Apple and pumpkin picking in the fall, as well as spectacular fall foliage.
  • great house, separate side quarters. Lynn was a very hospitable host who served breakfast and suggested a few nice hikes in the area.

  • Lynn was a generous and gracious host. Her home is situated in a lovely, quiet, wooded area about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown New Paltz. The room was even prettier and nicer than shown in the photo. It is attractively decorated, very clean and comfortable. Plus, it is separated from the main living area of the house by two doors, so it is quiet and private. The bedroom has its own thermostat to control the A/C and heat. There is a large walk-in closet (with tons of available hangers) that provides a bonus privacy buffer between the bedroom and the large, private bathroom. The bathroom has a nice, clean, large, new tub and a separate walk-in shower. Plenty of fresh, white towels and shower gel provided. Everything was clean and nice. As another reviewer mentioned, the water smells slightly of sulfur which is a little surprising at first but once you understand that bathing in it does NOT make you smell, you realize it's fine-- just not great for drinking. In the morning, Lynn made good, strong coffee for us, and provided a healthful and delicious breakfast of Stonyfield yogurt, locally made granola, a selection of fresh fruits, hard boiled eggs, and nice bread, butter, jam and peanut butter. She has a sweet and super friendly dog and a handsome cat that are happy to see you but won't bother you. We both slept well in the very comfortable bed with soft, high thread-count linens. Would definitely recommend Lynn's place and would certainly stay there again!

  • Lynn is such a wonderful woman! She and her dog Mitsy gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home right away. The house is so beautiful, the pictures in the post don't do it justice. The morning after we arrived, she prepared a delicious breakfast and some snacks to take with us for our hike trip. She even offered to give us a ride to the park! We are very grateful and we hope to go back soon!

  • The room is very clean with a private bathroom (with a huge bathtub that I sadly did not get to try out). Lynn is a wonderful host. She helped us find a cab company to use and also made us breakfast in the morning. Her dogs are very sweet and friendly. I highly recommend staying here!

  • Our overnight stay with Lynn was really pleasant & restful. We were in town for a wedding. Her home is lovely, and Lynn has a great, sunny attitude. We enjoyed visiting with Lynn and her dogs - so sweet! She recommended a nice nearby restaurant for dinner. She also made us a yummy breakfast in the morning, which was beyond my expectations! Definitely recommend...

    Thaytia2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn's place was a real treat, surrounded by lovely open woods, breakfast with the squirrels to the sounds of birds all around. Very tranquil and beautifully appointed room.

    Sue2017-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Reserving and booking Lynn's room was quick and easy. I got a message from her soon after it was booked and she was very friendly and helpful. When we arrived she came out to greet us and showed us the room, which was very large and comfortable and even had its own private bathroom. She has two lovely dogs who are extremely friendly and love it when you pet them. I also needed an iron and Lynn happily provided me with an iron and an ironing board. Although we didn't stay long, we wished we could have stayed another night to prolong our great stay. Thanks Lynn!

  • We felt very welcome even before we arrived. Leslie was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was fantastic and the house was fantastic. The images don't do it justice.

  • This slice of heaven is a great find and a great experience for any good guest. The pictures could never do this amazing place justice. Simply magical. You can tell the hosts put love into this space and we were greeted that way. the breakfast was superb, and our hosts were thoughtful enough to consider all of our dietary needs. would love to return. Definitely recommend.

  • Les and Leslie were amazing. Only to be matched by the amazing surroundings. Les was incredibly helpful in providing my friends and me directions to and from a wedding we were attending. The breakfast the next morning comprised of a selection of cheeses and fruit from the local area. All in all a wonderful experience. My only disappointment was that I could not stay longer.

    nitha2014-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Les and Les were the best! We stayed in the house and hosted our wedding there, and it could not have been more perfect. We were fed an IMMACULATE breakfast every day to get us started, and the house was perfectly calm, peaceful, and clean. We got nothing but compliments from wedding guests on the beautiful property (we had the ceremony down the meadow, by the pond, and put up a tent by the brook), and it was 100% their place that made things magical. The night sky was dark and clear with lots of stars, and fireflies floated over the brook while we danced. Logistically, Les and Les were a dream. Easy to talk to, quick to respond, clear and patient as we put things together -- they were excellent during the entire planning process. They gave us the space we needed but were also helpful whenever we asked, and they were generous though set clear, helpful boundaries. More than that, we really enjoyed getting to know them over the nine-month planning period. At the outset, we met for wine to talk things over, and after we left, my then-fiance and I decided that Les and Les were like the parents we'd always wanted. We look forward to visiting them again in the future and recommend them to anyone and everyone!

    Mercedes2014-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • The host was wonderful and really trying very hard to please. The house is just gorgious, very warm and inviting yet casual. The garden and the entire propertyis a pleasure to walk around.

  • This is a special place. Great rental unit, great hosts, and a delicious, fresh breakfast. Rare to find a property with modern finishes and so much history. The property is pretty large with private trails cut across the site. We had fun hiking around the rock walls and creek area. We hope to be back!

    Daniel2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the house, there was 8 of us and Les happily accommodated us turning the tv room into another bedroom. The breakfast was amazing and Les and Les accommodated any dietary requests. The property is amazing and has amazing trails to explore. As there is no kitchen we were provided with paper plates and utensils, next time i would bring my own cutlery glasses and plates, there was no chopping board or knife so if you plan to cook on the BBQ you would need to bring anything you may need but we didn't have a problem making it work with what we had.

    Ned2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I work for Brooklyn-based digital agency that needed a large upstate place for an outdoor photo shoot. I was able to set up the reservation the night before with Les, no hassle at all. He was extremely accommodating throughout our daylong shoot, even had lunch ready for us upon arrival! Though our shoot was outdoors most of the day, we got a tour of the house + rentable rooms and everything looked incredible. I imagine it would make for the perfect weekend retreat with a great host!

  • Dennis and Leslie were outstanding hosts! They truly went above and beyond to make it feel like a true BnB. They offered a great continental breakfast, including homemade coffee cake! Communication was flawless. The home was clean and inviting. We had a party of 6 and all fit very comfortably. One of the bedrooms was a little hot, but it was a ridiculously hot and humid night. It's too bad we did have a chance to make use of the hot tub! Oh, there are also daily wild turkeys that visit that hope you'll feed them! So cool!

    Greg2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis and his wife offer the most lovely home. We were greeted each morning by a group of wild turkeys, and Dennis provided food to feed them; the same ritual occurred in the evenings. The hot tub is divine and seats 4 comfortably. The we-love-nature theme pervades the home, inside and out, with hummingbird feeders and flowers adorning the deck and various beautifully rendered taxidermy specimens from Dennis's hunts. The layout of the home is ideal with a master suite on the first floor and two large bedrooms up the spiral staircase. Dennis's wife has a beautifully stocked kitchen, and there is a fabulous grill. We wanted for nothing and found delightful roads on which to cycle, and Dennis even left an electric bill so we could visit the nearby Rhinebeck pool. A really special weekend, made all the better because Dennis accommodated a late-afternoon checkout, giving us one more full day with family. Thank you!

  • We stayed at Dennis's house for a wedding nearby at the Old Stone Farm. It was perfectly located for the weekend's festivities. The home is beautiful and was perfect for my parents, brother, my boyfriend and I to all stay there comfortably. Our only regret was not having the chance to spend more there! Dennis was very responsive and easy to reach. Would absolutely stay there again!

    dara2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Dennis's home in Rhinebeck was absolutely wonderful. The property incredibly well suited for a relaxing time in the Catskills. The common space was comfortable and spacious while each of the three bedrooms provided ample private space. An often overlooked detail when looking for homes in the region is the bed arrangement. Each of the bedrooms had queen sized beds and larger, which means the sleeping arrangements for our group of adults was perfect. The house also had an ample sized kitchen to cook our meals. Dennis and his wife really went out of their way to make us feel welcome in their home by providing us with a bottle of wine and homemade coffee cake, which was delicious! Also, the hot tub off the master bedroom was such a treat after a long day of being outdoors. We simply melted away in the hot tub while looking at the stars every night. One of my favorite parts of our stay was the grounds surrounding the house. The backyard area was large and flat with nicely manicured touches. It was a focus during the day as we played numerous lawn games and just had the freedom to roam around the well maintained lands. I would highly recommend Dennis's place for anyone looking for a secluded retreat in the Catskills with all of the modern creature comforts that you want!

    Keith2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis and Leslie are lovely hosts. The house is beautiful and the property is amazing. We had lots of fun watching the deer and turkeys.

  • Location to Sheep and Wool Festival was superb. Hosts Dennis and "his bride" were such lovely and friendly people ... their home was tastefully decorated and they shared their home, food/drink and hot tub with us. Home was very clean and exactly as we expected. There were five of us and we fit well. Only negative was the low water pressure in upstairs shower and internet wifi kept dropping. Overall a wonderful weekend!

"Hollow Cottage" is a mid-century guesthouse nestled in the woods on our 3-acre property. Featuring old wood beams, new floors and a wood burning stove, the cottage is a true escape from it all. Just 1 and 1/2 hours from New York City, Hollow Cottage is a perfect getaway. Located in beautiful Staatsburg, we are minutes from Rhinebeck and Hyde Park. Close to Omega Institute, Rhinebeck Aerodrome, FDR home, Vanderbilt Mansion, Culinary Institute of America, Bard, Vassar, and so much more!
The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities and all towels and bedding are provided. The wood stove is fully functional and we encourage you to use it. Wood is right outside the door. The house is heated by electric baseboard heats and there are easy to use thermostats. A Pack 'n Play is in the closet and we'd love you to bring your baby and kids! Plenty of board games for your enjoyment, but we've also got a 42in 4k TV with Apple TV. HBO, Showtime and Netflix are included. Complimentary Kiehl's bath products and a special treat when you arrive...
Staatsburg is ideally located because it is half-way between Hyde Park and Rhinebeck. Hyde Park is home to the FDR house and museum, the Culinary Institute of America (amazing restaurants!), the Vanderbilt Mansion and much more. Rhinebeck is, in our opinion, the most pleasant and adorable town in the Valley, with some of the best restaurants and farms and the absolute best farmers market. Our house is also very close to the Taconic Parkway, which is an important thing when coming up from the City. It really will take you around 1:45 without traffic, 2-2:15 with. You're also ideally situated for day trips all over the area. Hudson (our favorite), Red Hook, Germantown, Woodstock, Saugerties, Kingston, Catskills Hiking, skiing, etc. etc. Everything is within an hour... There is a very beautiful, cheap and fun (if not challenging) golf course in Staatsburg, which is otherwise a really small town.
  • This light-filled cottage is a dream! It was exactly what I needed for a quiet writing getaway. The wood-burning stove added exactly the right touch of coziness. So thoughtfully decorated and spotless. Comfy bed. Ali & Scott were very prompt in responding to my inquiries. Rhinebeck with its fantastic shops and restaurants is a quick drive away. Cinnamon had terrific Indian food and Bread Alone has a scrumptious brunch. Can't wait to go back!

  • Lucky to have found this place, with history in its bones, lovingly restored, and so comfortable! Light and spacious with a terrific sense of design, especially all the added windows, the stone hearth, and the large modern bathroom. During our week there, we felt lucky when it snowed; the wide wood-burning stove made it bright and cheerful. From the huge deep bed we saw the moon rise in the groves of trees surrounding the house. The kitchen was terrific, too, and we had a great time cooking when we weren't out trying out the fantastic local restaurants ('Cinnamon' outdid any Indian we have had in NYC). I can't praise this place enough! Bravo to our hosts!

  • Very peaceful cottage in a woodsy area. Wifi worked well and all amenities were as listed. Great place to stay, but you will need your own vehicle to get to the sites and restaurants nearby, about a ten-fifteen minute drive.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It's beautifully kept and decorated. The bathroom and kitchen are fully stocked with essentials (including soap and spices). We loved enjoying the nearby sights and winter activities with the snow & coming back to cozy up with the fire! Would definitely recommend.

  • This cabin could not be more lovely. Clean, cozy, comfortable and charming. The arrival instructions are perfectly clear, and the location is green, peaceful and secluded. The house is well-equipped; the bed is extremely comfortable; the bathroom is large and luxurious. Think about the cabin you would build for yourself if you could build a perfect cabin, and then decorate it really sweetly and surround it in trees... and you've got Ali and Scott's place. You do share a yard with the main house, so I don't think I would have felt super comfortable carrying on outside (for fear of being disruptive) if that is what you are looking for – though there is a table and chairs to do so!

Upstairs is the sunny master bedroom with basic-channel cable TV, adjacent bathroom with tub and hand held shower. Cozy guest room with comfy queen size futon, and smaller bedroom with single bed and desk for writers.
You can have the best of both worlds: the house is nestled in the woods, but it's only 2.5 miles from the heart of Rhinebeck, justly famous for its unique blend of small-town charm and upscale elegance, home of Upstate Films, as well as scores of interesting shops and excellent restaurants. Quiet and privacy plus convenience!
  • I stayed here with three friends and we were all extremely happy with this Rhinebeck-area home. What's truly fantastic about it is that the house is laid out in such a way that it's possible to carve out your own private space in the public shared areas. There are two decks, an exterior patio, and a screened-in area that can only be described as an indoor/outdoor living room. Everyone was very happy in the four bedrooms, and the chorus of frogs at night made sleeping very peaceful and easy. This is a "home" in the true sense of the world; the sense of lives lived here is strong, and there's lots of personality as expressed in the art and books which are everywhere. There were issues with the wireless internet, and Cait responded promptly and in person in trying to fix it. A wonderful place to chill out, to use as a homebase while attending Omega, or just to get some green space in your life. All thumbs up from all of us.

  • Wonderful place to spend a weekend visiting the Culinary Institute of America. Close enough to West Point to enjoy an Army football game. The house was clean and the host was warm and inviting. On Army football weekends you will spend the same price on this house with 3 bedrooms that you would spend on one hotel room. Well worth it.

  • Cait was a wonderful host! She coordinated our arrival and greeted us with a tour of the home and pointed out the fresh coffee beans & cream that are included with the rental. The house itself is fantastic! It's a beautiful 3-bedrooms (upstairs) with another space available to turn into a room if need be downstairs. The living room area was where we spent most of our time at home, due to the great layout of the windows facing the front yard. The kitchen is awesome and built for chefs, with an attached dining room that's a perfect setting for meals. The location is great (just about 5 minutes south of Rhinebeck) and can get you to all of Hudson Valley with a short drive in all directions. Definitely would come back due to the awesome host, wonderful home and great location.

  • This is an awesome house, located conveniently along route 9, in a rural setting, and yet is minutes from the town of Rhinebeck. Our group of 3 adults and one teen just loved staying here and our only regret was that we did not spend enough time at the house due to other obligations (such as attending a wedding….). Cait was the perfect hostess – we arrived very late, way after dark, and not only did Cait wait up for us, but she walked down the long driveway with a handheld electric lantern to welcome us and show us the way. Inside the house, we were also greeted by the resident kitty cat – so cute and in-your-face friendly!. The house itself is just delightful – very clean and comfortable with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. It was furnished with wonderful pieces and artwork from all over the world and each room has shelves full of books on every subject – something which my scholarly group really appreciated and much to our collective dismay, did not have enough time to partake. Cait kindly left us fresh coffee beans along with milk and cream. We had a choice of using the drip coffee machine or the French press and I am happy to say that we had it both ways. The next time, we come to Rhinebeck, we would definitely stay again. Thank you, Cait!

  • We felt very welcomed by Cait. The house had everything we were looking for: enough space for six people to sleep comfortably, a great kitchen to cook in, and plenty of open space to relax outside in. It was a great experience.

  • Cait was on time and greeted us with a warm and friendly welcome! She gave us a thorough tour and we found that we had everything we needed. We had an issue with the electric, and it was corrected within a very short time. We really appreciated how quickly it was resolved. The house worked very well for our group of four attending an Omega weekend. We enjoyed the house cat, coffee, and plenty of room to make ourselves comfortable. Although we were gone most of the day, the private setting was lovely. It would have been great to enjoy the outside patios and porch.

  • Cait was the star of this airbnb experience. My family was juggling a tight and everchanging schedule and Cait was very flexible about meeting up to get in our space. As stated elsewhere, there is a cat in the house so its best to be down for that. The place is large and lovely.

  • Cait was a fantastic host! She was incredibly warm and welcoming. And the "gentlemanly cat" was incredibly sweet and made us feel even more at home. The house is beautiful and full of character; gorgeous hardwood floors, charming furniture, art on the walls, and a fabulous screened in porch! it was absolutely the perfect place to stay for our trip. Thank you, Cait!!

Beautifully restored 1900 victorian house by the Hudson River. Close to hikes, the river, backyard for grilling, fireplace, lots of blankets, right by the charming town of Kingston.
Welcome! Our home is a beautifully restored Victorian house built in 1900. The house is 3 stories which includes a huge open kitchen, a library, a basement that is both a music room (electric guitar, piano, drums) + video games, spacious rooms, lovely backyard for naps, and very close to nature hikes.
Incredibly quite, charming neighborhood - street is across the street from the river.
  • We had a wonderful stay at Sina's Beautiful house. Everything was very clean and the house was beautifully done. He was very quick responses. He also recommended some amazing places for us to eat and visit. I highly recommend anyone visiting this area to stay at this house. He will not be disappointed and your expectations will be above the rest. Thank you again for an amazing time.

  • Sina's place was huge and comfortably fit us (4 adults and 3 kids) with room to spare. Gorgeous views, quiet and located very close to Kingston. Sina was very easy to get in contact with and we had no problems at all during our stay. The house is lovely, massive, and the perfect place for a getaway upstate.

  • Sina's place has it all - spectacular views, and amazing open concept kitchen, a homey fireplace and family room, and close proximity to everything you could want on your upstate vacation. Sina was so hospitable and available to answer any questions throughout our stay.

    Beautiful house by the Hudson

The house is situated on a sprawling 240 acre estate. Warm, cozy and quaint barely begin to describe this magical home. King board floors, renovated kitchen, and a fireplace is almost every room!  Close to public transport and the charming Rhinebeck Village. You’ll fall in love instantly. Imagine toasty fires, red wine and timeless books. Or kids running the fields and star gazing at night. That's what this place is about. Great for for couples.
  • Absolutely immaculate restoration. House is beautiful, design is beautiful, very thoughtful details (firewood in every room, clean towels, fancy soaps, etc). My wife and I made a nice fire, played some board games, cooked a meal in the beautiful kitchen, and slept in a wonderful and comfortable king size bed).
