“Stradbroke Ferries or water taxis connect you from Cleveland (15 mins from Redland Bay) to Straddie. Dolphins, sea turtles, manta rays, whales are just part of the attraction depending on seasons etc. Fabulous beaches and views. You can take your car on the vehicle ferry, or opt for the passenger ferry or water taxi and just catch a bus once you’re on the island. An absolute must visit!”

“Makes scrumptious fresh bread and croissants each morning which are just short walk away from The Kraken. Staff at Chiller's are VERY chilled and this cafe tends to operate on "island time", so be prepared to wait. Why not join them by soaking up the "slow down" vibes? The warm fresh bread and chocolate croissants are definitely worth any wait!”

“Best food on the island. Get in early at peak times and grab a table on the front deck overlooking the point. Can also recommend a takeaway burrito or beastie burger to eat in the parklands. Sunshine lattes are first class too. Attached organic groceries in “green room”.”

“Blue Lake is an area of special cultural significance for Quandamooka people who call the lake Karboora, meaning ‘deep silent pool’. The Blue Lake area is within the Naree Budjong Djara National Park. Please enjoy the experience and leave only footprints. Walk the 5.2km (return) track to the lake through wallum woodlands, flowering heath and stunted eucalypts. Wear good walking shoes, take a hat and water. Medium level of fitness required.”

“Probably the best swimming beach on Minjerribah and a favourite of teenagers. The best thing about Minjerribah beaches is that there are so many of them separated by headlands, so, if it is blowing too hard at one, walk around the corner and the next beach is calm and peaceful.”
