Nature
“A nice hike a bit higher up the mountain will take you to this famous viewpoint giving you exceptional views of Tyrifjord and surrounding areas on a clear day. It is located 484 meter above sea level and the King visited it in 1832. From then on it was called Kongens Utsikt (King's view). Enjoy some rest and food upon arrival while you try the panorama picture settings on your phone/camera.”

“Tyrifjorden (Lake Tyri) is Norway's fifth largest lake. It is 295 meters deep at its deepest, and lies 63 meters above sea level. The lake's primary source is the Begna river, which discharges into Tyrifjorden at Hønefoss where the river forms the waterfall of Hønefossen. The Old Norse form of the name was just Tyri (or Tyrvi). It is derived from the word tyri meaning "old pine (wood)", referring specifically to the woods of the western side of the lake.”

Museum
“Ringerikes Museum er verdt et besøk om du er i området. Museet ligger i den praktfulle gamle prestegården Norderhov, og det har blitt samlet kunst- og kulturhistoriske gjenstander fra hele distriktet på museet. Buskerud fylkesfotoarkiv og Hjemmestyrkemuseet ligger i samme lokale og kan blant annet by på en del av distriktets historie fra andre verdenskrig. ”

Point of Interest
“A very nice and cozy hike is the famous King's view, where you end up at a fantastic viewpoint that overlooks the whole of the municipality Hole and old “kingdom” Ringerike. If you want to go “step it up” there are lots of different walks and trails you can choose from depending on you skill level. For example, Mårkonga is a somewhat longer "tougher" trip, but also very famous for its amazing gorge that you have to go through before you come to the top on another wonderful lookout point.”
