Walking distance from UL Lafayette main campus and not far from downtown. The menu varies day to day but is always delicious. Specialty adult beverages are worth trying, too. Seating is both indoors and outdoors, so on a hot summer day, you might want to go early to sit inside with the AC.

"Funky hot dog place" is how my daughter describes it; this alone makes me want to go there. It is a New Orleans landmark come to Lafayette...and very popular.

We've enjoyed Zea's food and libations for years and have never been disappointed. One consideration is the noise level. If your hearing is not your strong suit and conversation is important, ask to be seated somewhere besides the large main room or in one of the booths off to the side. The Thai Ribs, Asian Shrimp and grits are worth ordering extra to ensure leftovers!

Bonefish Grill is a national chain that is very difficult to pass up. The food, drinks, and service are superb every time. Having eaten in Bonefish Grill all over the country, my mouth waters when I just think of the Bang Bang Shrimp! (Sally)

If you like TexMex, you will love Chuy's. Originally only in Austin, TX, we now have a Chuy's of our own. IT IS YUMMY AND FUN! A must is the creamy jalapeno dressing/dip with chips. And the margaritas are excellent. You'll love it so much that you may walk away with a Chuy's tee shirt. My favorite (vintage) tee shirt ever came from the original Austin Chuy's: That which burns the lips frees the mind! (Sadly, this one is no longer available, and my old one is in tatters.)
