This ancient little pub is around a 20-minute drive surrounded by Dartmoor on the outskirts of a beautiful historic village of Widdicom in the Moor.
Its packed full of character with gorgeous bear garden with free roaming foul. It is also a dog friendly pub where you get an interesting mix of gruff 3rd generation farmers as well as off the beaten track alternative tourists.
The owners are
friendly with an excellent range of local cider and beer.

The Rugglestone Inn
This ancient little pub is around a 20-minute drive surrounded by Dartmoor on the outskirts of a beautiful historic village of Widdicom in the Moor.

This is the closest pub just under a mile away from your stay, certainly walkable if you don't mind the small country lanes...
The atmosphere is great with a newly decorated shabby chic style, the food is very tasty fusion with dishes like harissa fish stew and baked aubergine, and crispy squid rings.

These guys do exceptional gastronomy specialist skills chef courses, they are rated amongst the top 5 in the country. it is no surprise they chose this location with all the excellent local food from the fish delis Ashburton delicatessen the Ark healthfood and Riverford.
Excellent high-quality local produce with some organic meat dairy and vegtables. This is an all in one must stop shop within 15 minutes from your stay. You will find everything you need and more, with a lovely local deli counter and resh made pasty and cakes daily.

Hands down the most innovative highest quality cafe and bakery around. Absolutely sensational! The chef also does private hire and can be asked for a fee to cook dinner starting rate is £45 for two. Ask me directly for her contact should you want this. However, during the day this cafe has it all! fresh patisseries bread and sandwiches to die for!!! the menu is all local and extremely innovative and affordable. I can not recommend this place highly enough!!

Wild swimming
A stunning section of the river Dart, with plenty (courtesy of the wild Dartmoor ponies), maintained grass areas right up to the river. Fun wild swimming to be had with slow flowing river and deeper spots to jump in and swim.

The pig's nose pub at East Prawle has a reputation of eccentricity and lock-ins. With an exceptional capacity for hosting music event but they get booked up quick. this place is a good 50-minute drive from the hut but utterly worth it... The beaches within walking distance from the pub are 1midblowingly beautiful! But be prepared for and a bit of scrambling, the beaches are small little coves difficult to get down tow with windy steep paths but once there and especially out of season you might have the beach to yourselves, its a slice of paradise and I can't recommend it highly enough...

The pig's nose pub at East Prawle has a reputation of eccentricity and lock-ins. With an exceptional capacity for hosting music event but they get booked up quick. this place is a good 50-minute drive from the hut but utterly worth it... The beaches within walking distance from the pub are 1midblowingly beautiful! But be prepared for and a bit of scrambling, the beaches are small little coves difficult to get down tow with windy steep paths but once there and especially out of season you might have the beach to yourselves, its a slice of paradise and I can't recommend it highly enough...
Easy acsess with parking a few meters from the waters edge and simple to get to in around 35 minutes from your waggon.
It also has a great pub called the start bay in for soma of the freshest fish and chips you can get!

There is also a market every Saturday that has been going for hundreds of years and this is what contributes the unique eclectic bohemian atmosphere of this town with tonnes of alternative gift shops and great cafes its a must see for people watching and getting a feel for the unique culture of the southwest. There is also a castle ruin open to the public.

This place is luxury for those rainy days or if you just fancy a bit of pampering. They have an immaculate sauna steam room, and pool. Not to mention lots of packadges and treatments.
