This restaurant really knows how to fill you up! Family and friends can have a lovely tapas style meal trying nearly every appetiser on the menu instead of ordering main meals, if the objective is diversity. Staff knows good English and are very helpful. Everyday is busy so if you don’t show up early or you don’t reserve in advance you’ll end up waiting at the door for a bit. The food is modern Portuguese style. You can see one of the chefs at the side bar preparing and cooking seafood and also cutting prochuttio to serve. Definitely recommended.

This restaurant is a pleasant surprise. The space is small but very nice with good ambient music, staff is friendly and attentive. It focus on portuguese fusion dishes with a side of indian; it offers a good variety of dishes, including vegetarian options. Good wine offer too.

Quaint part of town, small with a great atmosphere. Food was absolutely wonderful and delicious. Very nice selection of wines. The desserts are just heavenly. It’s kind of a romantic place so it’s a good option for couples but also families. Book table ahead!

As you enter the restaurant, you can instantly feel the welcoming environment. The staff is very competent and nice. The food taste like heaven - best quality and amazing taste. You can really feel the Portuguese culture and gastronomy in Casinha Velha. Definitely recommend it, either with friends or family, it's just perfect.

Praça Rodrigues Lobo, the very heart of the city and an ideal place to relax under the 16th century arcades with their pleasant café esplanades.
In one corner, there is a statue of the poet Rodrigues Lobo (1579-1621) pointing in the direction of Tomar.
Side note:
Tomar is one of Portugal's historical jewels and more significantly was the last Templar town to be commissioned for construction. Tomar was especially important in the 15th century when it was a centre of Portuguese overseas expansion under Henry the Navigator, the Grand Master of the Order of Christ, successor organization to the Templars in Portugal.
